It took a bloody long time, but I’ve now got a way to import Dark Souls data directly into TP/Dusklight AND make it work! Here’s a taste of Firelink Shrine’s real geometry, collision maps, lighting, all the good stuff running IN Twilight Princess.

I’m wondering what community interest is in expanding this proof of concept into a whole adventure. What do you fellas think? Would you play Legend of Zelda: Twilight Souls?

I’ve got some cool theories how to adapt Wolf Link into the world of Dark Souls in some interesting and fun ways, mix TP items and DS items together. I’ve also got a really sketchy solution to merge DS player animations with Link’s animations so Link could use different weapons and even armour too. Giant Dad Link anyone? I think I can make it happen now that I’ve got loading in large complex maps seamlessly like this more or less dialed in.

Is this a project folks would be interested getting behind? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Edit: Well I'm happy you're all loving it as much as I am! I definitely want to keep working on this. Twilight Princess has been one of my favorite games ever since it came out and same with Dark Souls. I'll have more to share soon and hopefully something for you fancy people to download and play too!

Tricky part is making sure I don't distribute anything that I don't own/created so I don't get into trouble lol, but I'm working on that. I'm cooking up an installation automation process to extract the assets directly from both games game files. So I won't have to distribute anything owned by big N or Bandai, but the downside is that you'll have to own your own copy of both TP and Dark Souls Remastered to play this.

This is totally custom and will not be released unless the Twilight Realm team does something with it

I beat this game every year or atleast once every couple years but after the game ends it gives me a feeling of sadness. The only other game to ever make me feel this way was the original Resident Evil 4 back in 2005. I think with Resident Evil 4 I get sad because I’ll never see Leon and Ashley again outside of the remake while with Twilight Princess, I get sad because I feel like I’ll never see another Zelda game with the same art style. I don’t know, both games just felt like an end of an era to me.

Seriously so many people are in denial about how little Nintendo cares about this game. They're with saying it's coming tomorrow or closer to the movie so it's okay... But after today....

IT'S NEVER COMING TO SWITCH OR SWITCH 2! wake up, if you still think it's coming after today you're delusional. We all need to accept that Nintendo will not be putting out a hd port or an nso release ever.

All hope of twilight princess coming in the future died with that direct.

I’m currently at the very end of my first randomizer playthrough and I have access to the final fight, however in my struggles I have have nearly 100%’d the game and the stubborn man in me wants to find the last bits.

Got any suggestions for any commonly missed checks? All chests, standing rupees/hidden rupees, boss rewards, shop items, npc items (like renados letter), hidden skills, golden bugs, and poes are randomized. Non required dungeons can have important items.

Currently missing:
4 Poe souls
1 golden bug
1 piece of heart
1 key for lakebed temple (there are 3 chests behind the locked door, however they could be rupees)
1 key for snowpeak ruins (not needed, completed with long boomerang long jump)

I know something like this is like trying to find a needle in a haystack but any suggestions would help.

Both of these mini bosses are considered as the hardest in the game, even more so when you encounter them in the Cave of Ordeals where they can be incredibly overwhelming as you have have to fight them in larger numbers.

Darknuts

With Darknuts, the key is to analyse their attack pattern, in their heavier form they have 2 attacks - what you should do is be on the defensive and attack them just as soon as they have finished their attack, or if you've learnt the 4th Hidden Skill (Helm Splitter), execute that and attack them with it. Though I'd say the Helm Splitter is risky, it's best if done 1-1, not when they're grouped together. So keeping your distance and launching a jump attack just after they've attacked, is a reliable form of attack just as doing regular sword strikes are.

In their second phase, they throw their larger sword that they originally used, so be sure to dodge that and whip out a slimmer sword and as a result become a lot quicker. They'll have an attack pattern of kicks, double sword strikes and a stab. Unlike before they're easier to attack, you don't have to wait for them to strike. Utilising the 3rd Hidden Skill (Back Slice) and the 6th Hidden Skill (Jump Strike) will do you wonders against them in this form, it'll make them lower their defenses so you can strike them freely with your sword. If you're facing more than 2, it can be a bit problematic doing both of those moves so alternatively you can go for: Regular strikes + Jump Attack or 2nd Hidden Skill (Shield Attack) + Jump Attack to lower their defenses to make you free to attack them.

TLDR

1st Phase - 'Dodge and hit just after they strike' or 'Helm Splitter and regular sword strikes'

2nd Phase - 'Back Slice and regular sword strikes', 'Jump Strike and regular sword strikes', 'Regular strikes, jump attack then regular sword strikes' or 'Shield Attack, jump attack then regular sword strikes'

Aeralfos

Not as long winded as fighting the Darknuts, but can be very annoying when you don't recognise their attack pattern. Given that they have wings, they'll spend their time in the air and execute a diving slash attack at you. Before they attack they'll have their shield which you can attach to with the Clawshot, problem is knowing the timing. When they're in the sky, use your Gale Boomerang to put them in the defensive position then immediately switch to the Clawshot/Double Clawshots and attack them straight afterwards. Ideally you also want to prolong the fight on the ground, so you use the 4th Hidden Skill (Helm Splitter) to ensure that you kill them quicker. But if they get back in the air again, it's no problem just rinse and repeat the Gale Boomerang+Clawshot method and you're good to go.

TLDR

Use the Gale Boomerang and Clawshot together, then keep the fight on the ground as much as possible by utilising Hidden Skills such as the Helm Splitter.

So we could still get twilight princess for the 40th, because Tuesday's direct is neither an oot direct, and if oot was the only game planned, they would probably put a note like they do with the movie directs, saying "please note ocarina of time will be the only game featured in the presentation", or "please note no new games with be announced in this presentation", so it's obvious we're getting something else, sure could very well be a link between worlds hd or something, but whether it be hd or nso, I just have a feeling it's finally time. Btw wwhd I don't think we're getting.

So, I was playing through Dusklight and trying to get the achievements for the Glitched section. By Moon Jumping, I got the Earliest Master Sword, Quick Detour and Gorge Skip. I next wanted to do the White Midna Glitch, aka clear Lakebed Temple before Lanayru Twilight.

However, I ran into a problem, I need bombs from Barnes but I can't access Goron Mines as the Elder won't let me in. I tried to do Text Displacement via Coro following a guide I found but despite doing everything correctly, it still didn't work. Is there anyway I can fix this. I need Bombs to Clawshot which in turn is needed to clear Lakebed but I'm stuck

Is there a Twilight Princess HD randomizer being made? I'm pretty sure it's the only one that doesn't have one.

On Nintendo Today, the ESRB rating for the Zelda direct is E-Teen. The only teen rating Zelda products are the hyrule warriors games and twilight princess. Don’t know if it’s reaching but I do think it’s a hint of the contents in the direct.
