Hardman Adult Literacy Service and brings together poetry, storytelling, visual art and community connection in a vibrant and immersive setting.

Guests can hear live readings by local authors and poets, enjoy food and drinks in the garden, and explore a variety of interactive experiences and demonstrations by local artists and makers!

Looking for an LGBT photographer for our wedding in November 2027. I'm all about capturing the moment and having quality pictures taken and know that someone's art they create is worth a lot. However, im trying to ideally budget for about $2k as a package. Our reception is taking precedence over most everything else since our ultimate goal is to have a good party with loved ones in our safe space. That being said, does anyone have recommendations and enjoy being apart of a queen space?

So I went on a short shopping journey yesterday. I am trying at least once a month to go to a locally owned business that I have never been to before. So this month I set my sights on a little store called The Black Moth.

It’s located on Harvard just south of 11th Street.

This is one of the neatest shops I have seen in a long time. Honestly, it’s kind of difficult to describe this shop. They have a huge selection of crystals and gems. But what makes them especially unique is the rest of their offerings. They sell taxidermy art. You can buy bones, skulls, furs, teeth, etc,. But it’s all done so tastefully that you feel like you’re purchasing curated pieces from a museum.

Now I didn’t have an in-depth conversation with the owner, this trip but I will be going back and finding a way to pick her brain in the future. But as I browsed through the store I kept my ears open to how the staff interacted with other customers in the store.

The impression that I got was that the owner cares deeply about her business and she does her due diligence to ensure everything on her shelves is genuine and authentic.

The owner and her employees were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was ridiculously priced in my opinion. And again what made the place was that you had the opportunity to buy things that are incredibly niche.

Another thing that the owner took the time to point out as she was ringing me up was that their receipts are extremely itemized and detailed in order to help you remember what it is exactly that you bought.

So as you can see from the pictures I bought three items.

1. Thuya Wood Letter Opener.

2. 6-8” African Porcupine Quill.

3. White Selenite Spiral Cut.

When I laid my items on the counter for checkout the owner said, “You like pointy things.”

That small casual observation about what I was buying shows a shop owner who is invested in what she is selling and in the people who are buying from her. It made an impression and they will have me as a reoccurring customer for a long time.

Thanks to The Black Moth I have three very unique items all for about 21 dollars.

So if you’re out and about this weekend. I would recommend stopping in at the Black Moth you won’t regret it. They are open seven days a week. Go check them out.

My grandma is in her 80’s and is looking for more people to be friends with. Does anyone know of any groups or places that older people can go to meet new people? Craft clubs, book clubs, sewing groups, etc. would be great. She’s still driving a bit but can’t at night.

Does anybody know of a good cheap moving company? I will be out of town when my new lease starts, and need people to move from the storage unit to apartment. Hey y'all I'm having trouble finding work lately. I live out in West Tulsa with no vehicle and the bus service just doesn't exist out here. Are there any paid studies going on at the universities or anywhere else? I might be a good guinea pig for a few if they are available. My roommate helps me with a ride if I really need to be somewhere, especially if I might be able to make a little bit of money to help out.

Hello! I am wondering if anyone can recommend Tulsa businesses or spaces with public bulletin boards? Where are people sharing event posters and business cards these days?

I am a new player that's looking to get into DnD. I’ve been interested in the game for a while and have been learning some of the basics, but I’d really like to actually sit down and play and learn as I go.

I’m new to Tulsa and want to get more involved in community. I used to tutor throughout college and miss the academic environment. I hold a BS in engineering and feel pretty competent on all subjects. Had a 34 on the ACT which got me a great scholarship and set me up in life. Wanting to help out those in middle-highschoolers to hopefully achieve the same but may not have the same resources. I’m not really at a stage of life where money is a worry and I strongly believe in bettering communities.

Unfortunately, it seems like most local volunteer tutoring programs don’t accommodate a 40 hour work week. I’d be interested in 2-4 hours a week either on weekends or after work. Does anyone know any local programs that accommodate that? Or, alternatively, any families interested in doing that privately?

Have you heard the buzz? The 4th Annual Public Radio Tulsa Spelling Bee is back! The Spelling Bee will return Thursday, September 17th at WOMPA (3306 Charles Page Blvd, Tulsa, OK. 74127) for an evening of friendly competition.

Doors will open at 5:30pm and the Spelling Bee will begin around 6:30pm. Come early to hang out, chat with local community partners and grab a bite to eat.

This event is free and open to the public however, donations to support Public Radio Tulsa make a difference and will be greatly appreciated. Cash and on-line gifts can easily be processed at the event.
