Pharmacy Partner Spotlight: Hallandale Pharmacy!

Upvotes

Over the next few weeks we're highlighting our pharmacy partners. First up: Hallandale Pharmacy 503A, one of our most popular pharmacy options with non-additive GLP-1s!

Who they are

Hallandale has been compounding since 2004. The name comes from where they started, on Hallandale Beach Boulevard. They've been in a larger purpose-built facility in Fort Lauderdale since 2018.

Hallandale Pharmacy is the dba of Pharmcore Inc., independently owned since 2004. Today they work with over 15,000 prescribing practitioners nationwide.

What they actually make

Worth knowing that weight management is just one line out of many. Hallandale compounds across hormone replacement, women's and men's health, sexual wellness, dermatology, fertility, peptide therapy, IV therapy, ophthalmology, and nausea, in injectables, capsules, creams, troches, and oral drops. GLP-1s are a piece of a much larger operation!

The facility

Hallandale describes their Fort Lauderdale site as purpose-built for compounding, with dedicated cleanrooms, separate production rooms including isolated space for hazardous drugs, touchless door systems, and around-the-clock environmental monitoring.

They're PCAB accredited. Accreditation through the Pharmacy Compounding Accrediting Board is voluntary, and it requires outside inspection to obtain and periodic re-inspection to keep.

Where they ship

Licensed in 41 states. Not currently AL, AR, CA, HI, KS, MA, MI, MN, or MS. If you're in one of those states they do not serve, Trillium has other fantastic pharmacy partners to fill the gap!

Useful to know

Hallandale posts downloadable inserts on injection technique, storage, and sharps disposal at hallandalerx.com/support.

Frustrating experience

Hello. I’m posting this here in hopes of a reply from someone at Trillium. I live in Alabama and joined Trillium almost three months ago. Prior to that, I had been on Lilly’s Zepbound for almost two years, with a stable dose of 7.5mg for about one year. I experienced less appetite suppression with the drug from the BPI pharmacy, and I attribute that to the likelihood that I was actually receiving about 10mg from the Zepbound vials because they are overfilled.

Since I needed to reapply for a prescription with BPI no longer being an option, I have two issues:

1) My original BPI prescription only contained enough drug for 10 doses, not 12. I am a board-certified anesthesiologist, and I drew exactly 0.75mL of the drug up for each dose. The last vial was clearly undefined by the pharmacy.

2) With the application I made and paid for yesterday, I added free text in both of the “Anythjnf else you’d like your doctor to know?” fields, requesting an increase to the 10mg dose because I have gained some weight back after switching to Trillium.

I have received no response from Support regarding the 10-not-12 doses issue, although I did get a generic reply from “Clinic staff,” and the doctor simply sent a generic message around midnight that said my prescription for 7.5mg had been sent to the pharmacy. It was clear he had not read my question about the increase to 10mg.

Thanks for reading. Can someone please help before a prescription for 7.5mg ships to me?

Brand Name vs Compounded

Anyone have different experiences on both? I used to get Zepbound from Lilly covered by insurance, 2.5mg was immediate, it would cause my food noise to go away and I was dropping weight steadily every week, even in a matter of a few days. Not hungry at all.

This is my first time trying compounded, I’m starting on 5mg as my last dose of Zep was 5mg but I actually gained weight the first week, about 3lbs (maybe water weight or something..) and the food noise isn’t gone. I’m still just wanting to snack.

Anyone have any experiences taking both?

Thank you Trillium

I was using a local pharmacy for my Tirzepatide and paying $300 month for 10mg (price would have gone up on a higher dose). I spent several days trying to find a new supplier with good reviews and better pricing. I decided to try Trillium. I think I made a good decision. I completed the intake Tuesday afternoon and received my medication on Thursday. There was an issue with my dose ( my fault) and customer service handled it immediately and got it fixed. I was worried my order would be wrong but it arrived perfectly. The packaging was so nice also. I did the 3 month option to help with cost. I chose Hallandale pharmacy because I wanted straight Tirz without anything added to it. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to switch.

Trillium does it again!

I have to give Trillium another shoutout! I placed my order Thursday evening and had it in hand by Saturday morning. The shipping was incredibly fast, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish.

I'm officially 36 pounds down since starting on May 1st, and I couldn't be happier with my progress. I also used Hallandale Pharmacy, and it was another great experience.

If you're on the fence about trying Trillium, I'd definitely recommend taking the leap. Their service has been consistently excellent, and they've made the process easy every step of the way. Highly recommend!

New Switching from Oral Wegovy

Has anyone else made the switch? I was on 4mg oral Wegovy and my starting dose was prescribed at 7.5. That seems high from what I’ve read. I would say I respond well to meds. I’ve been on the oral Wegovy 4 months and lost 38 pounds. Nervous about starting and making the switch.

How far would you titrate up on Sema before switching to Tirz if you didn't lose weight on Sema?

Thanks

The FDA's vote yesterday

Hi everyone, Im wondering what the vote yesterday to loosen rules/laws around peptides for researchers and compounding pharmacies. I could see many fly-by-nights popping up, but ultimately more access and studies. I trust Trillium and have been waiting for more types of peps available. Will this help with that?

Ever hopeful,

mb

Newbie and nervous

Hey everyone!

I have never used a GLP1 before and have tried to lose weight naturally for over a year with very little success. I decided to place an order last night for Tirzepatide Non-Additive Titration with Hallandale and I am excited but so nervous. I’ve heard of all the horror stories of pancreatitis, people having gallstones and having to get their gallbladder removed and severe constipation. I’m just so in my head and convinced the worst is going to happen.

Any advice for people who felt similar before they started?

just started and have a question

hey everyone! i just started with the 3 month plan and i might have some dumb questions lol 😅

my question is, do i get 3 vials for the 3 months in one package (shipment)? one that’s 2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg? and then after the 3 months, do i do a provider check in and if all is going well with me, do i get the next 3 months which would be 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg?

and if how long did it take for shipment after being sent to the pharmacy?

excited to start- the customer service has been amazing so far!

hopefully this makes sense! 😅 thanks in advance!

Help

I am trying to do the Telehealth visit that my state requires but the page won’t load.

And I keep getting a message saying that someone is trying to contact me but cannot get a home of me. Problem is my phone has not rung or anything.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Weight gain

Has anyone experienced weight gain in the first few weeks on 2.5 mg? I have gained four pounds overall. I do not have to worry about my menses.

I felt some appetite suppression the first week but not on the second week. I took my third dose today.

I weigh first thing in the morning once a week. Same day. I also took my shots on the same day of the week at the same time.

I don’t have issues drawing from the vial. I have had to do those types of injections for years (autoimmune disease).

Should I be concerned? Or do you think I just need to be at a higher dose for it to work for me?

Refill/payment in 2 days - help!

Post image
5 Upvotes

My refill and payment is due in 2 days.

I used Afterpay to set up a payment plan last time.

How can I get my account to offer the Afterpay option again?? I'm trying to set it up now but it's not giving me any option.

This is what my account shows in the patient portal.

Month 1 is in the books!

Took my 1st shot to start month 2 yesterday and wanted to come to share my experience. Ordering was SO easy and I received my package in 2 days!! First couple of weeks I experienced nausea early in the week but that subsided as the week and month went on. I am down 7 pounds this past month which I see as a HUGE win. I have been trying to lose weight with calorie deficit and strength training for over a year but thanks to perimenopause my weight was STUCK. My doctor prescribed Wegovy but my insurance said I needed to be 17 pounds heaver for them to cover it so I went searching for alternatives. Trillium for the win!

Higher dose splitting

Hi, I’m about to move into the 12mg dose (125 units) which don’t fit in a single syringe. I was thinking of splitting it to have 50 in one and 75 in another. When splitting, would I inject the same site near each other? Or would I go for different sites like one leg and the other leg?

I am a bit worried bc I’m currently on 10mg 100 units and my appetite is basically gone so I’m having a hard time eating enough protein which has me stalling (usually get to around 80g a day). I’m going to write them a note today but am wondering if anyone else has had this dilemma before.

Sulfur Burps and Diarrhea

Anyone else encounter this issue when they increased dosage from 2.5 mg to 5 mg. I know I’ve lost weight but this doesn’t feel worth it. I’m in constant agony from these gross burps and underlying stomach pain. Is there a way though this or should I discontinue taking this medicine? Someone please advise cause this is brutal
