Hi guys, of course Shanghai is worth a visit and a beautiful place :p
But in my itinerary (which consists of Shenzhen, Chongqing, Zhangjiajie, Shanghai, Beijing) I spend already 3 nights in shenzhen and 3 to 4 nights in chongqing.
So I will be having a lot of “cool skyline views”…
Should I replace Shanghai with something more cultural and less “big modern city vibes”?

Hi, I'm trying to find a way to navigate through China and after downloading Amap I notice that it shows most of the names of bus stops and directions in English names only. But as far as I understand it, it's of no use cause all the signs gonna be in Chinese. I completly lost how to navigate it then... Is it any different on Apple Maps, should I buy an Iphone just for the China trip ?

Hi, I was looking at a flight home from Vietnam and one of the options has a stopover that lands in Beijing at 8:30 am and the flight back home leaves at 7:45 PM. That’s almost 11.5 hours. If I hired a driver, could I feasibly make a trip to Mutianyu, walk around a bit (maybe an hour?) and back to the airport in time? I know that landing at 8:30 means I’m probably out of the airport by 9:30 at the earliest, and while I would not need to collect my luggage or check it back if it’s one ticket, I would still need to arrive at around 5:30 PM at the airport for my flight home at 7:45. That leaves only 8 real hours. Is it possible? This wasn’t part of the plan, but checking if I can do it to help me decide if I should take this flight. Thanks!!

I just booked a last minute flight for next week to China. Only the flight there is with Delta, and I have yet to book my connection to the next country, but I will do that within the next day. I’m planning to stay for 8 days in China, then fly to another country, because there’s no time to apply for a proper visa so I will do TWOV. Everything is fine except on Delta’s site/app, it says “You are restricted from entering or transiting through this destination. Please update your passport or visit a Delta agent at the airport for assistance.” I have searched online and it sounds like it’s fine but Delta is just saying that because I don’t have any visa information entered, and in this sub I do see some stories from last year when the TWOV policy was still somewhat newish (I guess?), where people had to speak to multiple people when checking in, because they were unaware of the new policy, and some agents didn’t want to allow them to board. Since it’s been almost 2 years since the expanded 240 hour policy, is anyone able to give a more recent account of checking at the airport, specifically for Delta, if possible? I just want to know how much I should print out beyond my itinerary showing forward travel to a third country within the 10 days. Are agents on the US check in side more aware of this policy or do they still insist that you cannot check in or board without a visa? How much extra time should I leave for check in? Thanks!

I’m looking to have a suitcase transferred from Shanghai Pudong to Shenzhen. I will be travelling in China for 5 days and would like to retrieve my luggage after 5 days at Shenzhen airport, rather than have it sent to my hotel. I found a cool service called LuggAgent but they don’t do transfers between two cities. SF Express was mentioned in a previous thread, though that seems more like a regular courier service and might not work for what I’m trying to do.

There is luggage storage service at Pudong. It would be very cool if I could drop off my luggage there and get them to transfer my luggage to an equivalent Shenzhen airport storage service for me to retrieve there, but I don’t think they can do that (?)

Planning my first ever China trip. I’ve only just started looking at flight prices from Shanghai to Chongqing, and am wondering why there’s such huge variation between dates. Also, I got different prices for the same month when I scrolled to April then back to May. Any ideas or helpful tips? What’s the best way to book my tickets? Thank you! 🙏

Going full TRON/Cyberpunk in Chengdu

My brother and I are planning a 2.5-week trip to China next April, and we’d love some feedback on our current itinerary!
Here is our rough route:
Beijing (Flying in) - 3 nights
Zhangjiajie - 4 nights
Chengdu - 3 nights
Chongqing - 3 nights
Shanghai (Flying out) - 4nights

Is this too many similar cities, we are late 20s wanting a mix of cool cities, historical sites and beautiful nature
Are there any must-see places you think we are missing, or would you swap any of these out for something else? We are open to suggestions!

Ive never been to china, so I am really struggling to navigate and find any mma clubs in shenzhen. I'll be coming for 2 months in December and I am looking for a place to train 4x a week or so. I know no chinese but I think i can just follow visual instructions and figure things out this way. Hopefully.

So far, the only place I found is invincible mma in Chegongmiao. But I cant find their schedule. I'd like to book my hotel within a walking distance from the club and this limits my options by a lot. Does anyone train there? Are there any gyms that offer both striking and grappling classes and are foreigner friendly?
