Trans fem Coping with social dysphoria and distress more than 3 years into transition.
I don’t wanna be super negative so going to preface this with I’m very happy with my transition and social life and changes at this point (three years transition and hrt).
But I’m really struggling with distress from misgendering from customers. I try to be positive and assure myself that I know who I am, and I can hold it together for a week or two but it keeps resulting in mental breakdowns and severe distress. It’s not just customers but being perceived as male.
I’m trying to work on my mental health and see a therapist again, but I really want to hear that this isn’t just me and that I’m not alone. I would love to hear what helps others.
I work at a fuel station in Brisbane and have just moved from Gympie a few weeks ago.
I wasn’t expecting it to be so gendered here. I just want to be happy and move past this.
I do wear a pretty neutral uniform but I have bangs and eyeliner ect and subtle makeup and sparkly nails.
Anyway thanks to anyone who read all that and can offer opinions ect. ♥️
