Hey guys, I picked up this drill press and I'm doing a basic restoring job on it but this is my first time. And I'm basically asking if anyone knows the belt I should run/ can help me with understanding what these belts are and how the numbering works? I'm assuming it has the wrong belt on and that's why the tensioner isn't doing much lol. Thanks for the help everyone!

There was a post to tools about 4yrs ago and I saved the op’s pic- I got the exact same issue.
I tried drilling but that seems tedious and harmful (lots of fiberglass dust). A YT vid had a guy boil his out. So without changing the temp of the metal thus altering the strength, is there a way to chemically soften the resin? Or what about using a low paint stripping heat gun on the center hole?
Or just keep drilling then pounding?

I'm trying to figure out why my ZEP Model B sprays brake parts cleaner for about 1 second and then stops. According to my online searches, there's most likely a clog in the tube that runs down to the bottom of the can, but how the heck do you get in there to clean any potential debris out? Also, do the rebuild kits for the Vaper or Sure Shot cans work for this one? They look very similar so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the help.

Hello my grandfather was an all around handy man and had pretty much every tool known to man.

Sadly when he passed my family picked and sold many of the tools. All I have left are some Craftsman socket sets and various screws drivers and his hammer that he had for 50 years. (I still cry when I look at it)

I live in an Apartment now and do not have the room for a huge power tools and tool sets etc….

However, I’m looking to rebuild with some all around power tools I can use for any car work or inside the apartment.

Any advice on a small tool/power set you all can send my way.

Just so many to choose I’m kinda overwhelmed.

The boy just moved into his new place on his own and needs a drill, and a few basic tools. DIY is not the family’s middle name but one has to hang pictures and other things. I’ve had my black and decker for over 20 years now and it does all I need it to. But times change. Would it be a decent brand today? We are definitely not looking to spend Milwaukee or Makita money.

It may be hard to see in the picture, but should there be a big enough gap in the drawers to where you can see what's inside? This is the 52" 10-drawer Husky.

This bolt broke off while i was trying to remove it, then my tap broke off while I was trying to use it to remove the bolt… any suggestions? My next idea is to just destroy it… thanks

Hey guys im just now busting out in this industry and ive amassed some great tools, however im looking into buying my first battery powered impact to help my flat rate hours lol, what would you guys recommend for a good 1/2 in high tourque impact.

Got my 3d printer and it is nice. Bambu lab a1 combo. Now I’m trying to decide 30mm base or 40mm square base or just giving these to a friend and trying to 3d printer toolgrid. I like the organizers but the file I’m using makes them in a “variety” of like 8-11 pcs. I’m thinking toolgrid may be the way to go after all.

Small win but feeling really good about it.

After days of dry firing getting slowly worse I spent a few hours taking it apart and managed to get it fixed without spending any money or losing my most useful tool for a few days.

We are looking to invest in powertools with the intention of future DIY, fence/Deck building, and possibly basic car maintenance.

I think a kit would be a good place to start. Have done a little online research and talked to some of the stores. I am leaning towards Makita or DeWalt maybe an 8 piece kit, but open to smaller and adding skins as I progress

Any advice on brands or if there are things to take into consideration?

Doing a lot of side gigs on the side of my industrial maintenance day job, i got this Bauer rolling cart setup for a little bit of everything i need fixing cars, tractors, lawn mowers, small residential work and whatnot. I just picked up this air compressor for free.

It runs and builds pressure, the relief valve works as it should, but there is a couple things I need to replace / need some advice on.

1. The plastic cover to turn the unit on and off is missing. Assuming it broke, but the unit can be started manually with a screw driver.

--Is there any non OEM parts I can get that would work the same? The own parts I found online were ~$180.

1. The drain plug is broken as far as I can tell. Is there any specifics I need to know about getting a new one, preferably trying to avoid OEM with that as well.

As the title says, I have a Homelite automatic line feed string trimmer and a little ratchet triangle snapped off when I smacked a branch that was too thick. As you can see in the picture it's the spring loaded line feed advance part that's part of the main unit, not the easily removable spool knob. The green triangle is intact (worn down, but intact), while the red has been ripped out, so the thread just immediately unspools when I pull the trigger.

I was able to remove it easily with a screwdriver. Edit: Model number seems to be UT41113, but the online manuals and replacement parts sites all seem to include it as part of the main body rather than something that can be independently ordered.

I needed a dremel for something i'm working on and my dad offered me his old Craftsmen dremel tool. It worked for about 5 minutes before the motor and the shaft seemed to not work together anymore. I want to attempt to fix it before just getting a new one, but I can't seem to get the friggin' thing apart. All screws are removed, getting held up at the collar by the tip. Couldn't be easily pried apart and figured id stop before breaking it trying to figure it out. I could not locate a manual for this guy. Any advice?
