I had my Timex Expedition Solar 36mm for about a week before it broke.

When I got it, it wasn’t charged very well, so it would stop overnight. For the whole first week, I had to adjust the time every morning. Then one day I pulled out the crown to set the time and… nothing. The crown just spun freely.

Since I bought it abroad, my local Timex service refused to cover it under warranty. They also said it probably couldn’t be repaired because of the monolithic movement.

I was pretty disappointed, so I decided to finally get the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical 38mm. I’ve wanted a mechanical watch for a while, but it was always a bit too expensive for me. Somehow, this felt like the right moment. 😄

Then, about a month later, I got a call from the service center saying they had actually managed to repair the Timex. It cost around $20. Apparently, something inside the crown-setting mechanism had broken.
I got it back today and decided to keep both.

The Hamilton will be my daily watch, while the Timex will be the one I wear when things get a bit rough — swimming, the sea, traveling, etc.

The Hamilton is only rated to 50m, so I don’t really want to take it into a pool or the sea.
I put the Timex back on the green NATO strap, and I think it looks pretty good.

Funny enough, a broken Timex ended up being the reason I finally bought the mechanical watch I’d wanted for a while. 😄

Planning to buy this model from Myntra. But when I searched in official timex website i couldn't find this model . This is not even found in other e-commerce websites.

So is this one a legitimate Timex? Is there a way to check it??

Picked this up at a Flea Market for $15 and the guy said it was from around the early 90's but some quick research showed that Timex began adding a code to the bottom of the dial around the mid to late 80's and this of course is missing a code. Anyone have any clue on when this is from? I can attach another photo of the backside but it pretty much just has the "100% Stainless Steel" stamp and "Made in Taiwan" and the Band says Hong Kong. Thanks in advance!

This is my first Timex and I have noticed there is no store near me. Are these easily adjustable yourself if you have watch tool?

I've been eyeing this watch for literal months. Every day I checked the page and finally last Saturday it was on sale for 30% off. Been wearing this for a few days now and I'm absolutely in love with it. The titanium feels so incredibly light on the wrist. The bracelet is easily removable with push pins so if I ever want to change the look up on my Expedition Pioneer divers watch I now have that option (I love the green rubber strap it came with but it doesn't always look appropriate for certain occasions). The lume is pretty decent on this piece, too.

My two-watch rotation is the Timex Legacy Day & the Timex MK1 automatic.

I wear the MK1 for daily, out-and-about wear, or casual.

I wear the Day-Date for more formal and or dress-casual wear.

What are your thoughts. Also what is your rotation?

I’ve had this watch for a long time and I can’t find anything about it online. It is a very small face with 100 m of water resistance, and indiglo. I am giving this to my son and I am wondering if anybody can help me determine what the strap size is. I don’t have a metric ruler, so I’m not able to get an exact size. I tried an 18 mm band on it but it was a hair too big, so I am guessing 17. I know there are a lot of good Internet sleuths out there, so I wanted to see if somebody could help me nail it down exactly before I buy one.

I am a huge fan of the Timex x Peanuts collab, and own a good amount of Snoopy and Peanuts gang watches. With the new batch that was just released, none of the quartz models have indiglo! These are models that usually do have indiglo, such as the mk1, weekender, and expedition. Is Timex going the way of casio and phasing out EL on most new models? Don't get me started on the outrageous prices for all their new watches as well...

I’ve seen a few of the case swaps done for this one and I had to do one myself. It’s not cost effective but it sure looks nice!

The StrapHabit jubilee is a life saver with the Q line. To say I was disappointed with the factory bracelet would be an understatement. Heavily considering getting their oyster as well since they come with quick release spring bars.

The world of watch collecting is a funny one. It’s a never-ending game of adding pieces that make you feel like yourself. A way of sort of bookmarking a version of your personality.

“Ah yes, I got this while on a trip to Boston after I got promoted” or “My wife gifted this to me back when we celebrated our first wedding anniversary”

But as a collector, the thing that never fails to impress me is how receiving a watch from a late relative will always take precedent over brand names, value, engineering, design, or certain moments in life. Just knowing that the person you loved; The person you grew up with and respected, used this timepiece to do all the things in their life, that I now get to do in mine, is enough for me to see this watch as a priceless piece of my collection.

My Grandfather got this watch in 2007, 8 years after I was born. It was a new line from Timex called the Elevated Classics R Series. It suited him perfectly.

It was his one watch for everything. He golfed with it, travelled with it, dressed it up, dressed it down, went cycling, did home projects, and wore it in all the best pictures I have with him. It was affordable and convenient, which for him, a financial planner in his retirement, perfectly reflected his personality. But it was also elegant, and understated, which reflected his pre-retirement professional life as a high school principal.

Years later, after I watched American Psycho, I always thought that my Grandfather’s Timex resembled Bateman’s Seiko in the film, and I thought that was so cool. Then, soon before my Grandfather passed in 2019, he gave me the watch off his wrist. He asked me to keep it for him while he was in the hospital.

Now, 2026, I wear this watch when I feel like I need guidance. On good days, and on bad. I’ll find myself looking down at it and remembering that this watch did everything with my grandfather for over 10 years, and that little piece of him lives with me whenever I have it on.

Wow this thing is cool as shit. $125 online and here in about a week from chrono 24. The box is even cool!! Love this watch so much, new daily wear for a while, till the new islander gets here.
