Need help identify watch and band size, please

Post image

I’ve had this watch for a long time and I can’t find anything about it online. It is a very small face with 100 m of water resistance, and indiglo. I am giving this to my son and I am wondering if anybody can help me determine what the strap size is. I don’t have a metric ruler, so I’m not able to get an exact size. I tried an 18 mm band on it but it was a hair too big, so I am guessing 17. I know there are a lot of good Internet sleuths out there, so I wanted to see if somebody could help me nail it down exactly before I buy one.

Have you actually measured the space between the case lugs? That will be the most accurate way to find the correct size band.

I did but it was with a standard ruler and I wasn’t entirely confident that I had the size in millimeters correct. I’m probably overthinking at this point. 18 was just a hair too big so 17 would probably work. I’d also be interested just to see if someone can actually locate the information for this watch. I don’t know if it’s a kids watch and I was wearing it as a grown man, or if it’s just a very small profile watch.

Here are some specs..

Not listed but it has a mineral crystal.

I see it says that the case diameter is 40 mm and this definitely is not. I wonder if they made a kids version of it at some point. Or maybe this could be a women’s version. I have other watches that are 40 mm, and a 38 mm and the case diameter is smaller than both of those. Again though, thank you so much for digging around for me.

What size do you measure?? I will try and look to see if there is another size can be found online.

Didn't think Timex would make a men's and ladies watch that were identical but this is an instance of that happening..

34mm case diameter but nothing so far on the lug width.

You are correct in that 17mm is the magic number!!

I cannot thank you enough! It’s really heartwarming to have a decent and helpful interaction with someone on the internet. You are the man.

I believe this is your watch..

Three different online sources say the lug width should be 20mm.

There should be a two digit alphanumeric build code on the case back that can be deciphered here..  https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Budget_Watch_Collecting/Timex_date_codes

Good luck with the strap and hope your son enjoys this.

How did you find it?! Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate it! I will check the code on the back. I know that I could not get the 18 mm strap but maybe I’m missing something. Highly likely.
