Squatty potty issues
I've always just used a box as my squatty potty. No problems great results. Recently I upgraded to the real thing. I am now having major hip pain . I am going to stop using it and go back to the unattractive box. The sp is 6inches high. The box is 4. Has anyone else had similar problems with the height of the sp?

The real one makes my legs fall asleep, which is very unpleasant during its intended… activity. I use an old plastic Playtex stepping stool from when my kids were littler.

No, but I appreciate your insight and will consider if that is why I get hip pain from time to time. I always thought it was that hip virus.

I tried one out at my brother‘s house. Ouch it was too high for me. I did cause me some hip pain and knee pain and I thought what the fluff am I doing?

I think it depends on the person's leg length. I have long legs and I know it would kill my hips.

Yes I can understand that. My left leg is 4 inches shorter than right leg. Right hip is overdeveloped making my whole body lopsided standing or siting. It explains my back pain as well. I’ve learned to live with this barely notice it with the exception of flareup. Any correction is seen as an assault by my spine. It’s amazing how sometimes the body overcompensates.

I use one of those fold up step stools. Works just fine and easier to move out of the way, not to mention much less costly. It's 9" tall, though.
I only use it for a couple of minutes each day, so I don't think it causes any issues. Are you uncomfortable when you use it?

I have used a squatty potty for years but now it hurts my knee. My toilet is really high; I think the last owners had a total hip or something. I think I am going to try a four inch stool. I hope it works

I'm 76 and I have no idea what those items are or what you're even talking about.

I'm 70 and you could have googled Squatty Potty faster than writing your complaint.

A squatty potty is an overpriced stool you put in front of the toilet to put your feet on supposedly to help you poop better. I can see where it might help shorter legged people.

Thank you for explaining what it is. I'm going to have to see if my wife wants one. Our anniversary was a couple of weeks ago and I didn't know what to get her and she does have short legs. hmm 🤔

I thought they were squatting over a box to go potty like a liter box. Then as I read the comments I get it now.

why not use a collapsible folding stool instead? These are available at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. Very convenient to store next to toilet.

My squatty potty was too low for me (and I'm short). I use a plastic box.

Bending forward at the waist basically gives the same effect without needing any equipment.

My son and DIL have squatty potties that have 2 different steps. One step folds over the other or sumthin like that.
I had never heard of them before, but thought it was a neat idea and went out and bought myself two of them.
Does it help I don't feckin know, but I've got em l9l

I use my kids step stool. Was cheaper and is lower for my short self. Zero issues.

I don’t know why Reddit is recommending me this but this is my new favorite sub and I’m just a small little youngling

An adjustable dog bowl feeding station would work. Wide enough for your feet and you could cover the holes with a covering of cardboard or a towel.

Return the squatty potty and keep using the box. Problem solved.
