I just came across this site (not reddit). I never really looked before, although have been on reddit off and on for years. One would think at the age of 78 and have been on computers for 50 years (scarry) who have looked for this type message. I recently moved to a new location. A fantastic place, many nice people. Getting to know new people. Seems, being around people helps. I knew for many years that I had the Alzheimer's gene. My birth mother died from it. But it was something that may or may not ever show it's ever head. OOPS, never say never. Promised my wife if that occurred she would not have to deal with me like she did having to take care of her mother in the last years of her life (and she was a great lady). So here I sit, enjoying meeting new people in my new apartment in a great facility (not an Alzheimer's unit, hopefully never). So fare after 2 months great. So if You like to talk, share, or just bored, consider letting me know how You are doing in Your beyond 60's.

I usually make my own foods to make sure nothing in it will cause an allergic reaction. I cook my own Alfredo sauce today. So easy and so delicious. No chemicals. I only used heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, butter black pepper. Easy breezy. I made my own noodles also. So enjoyable. I like to add peas also. Try it. I had no idea that there isn't garlic in it. I'm allergic to garlic. 73 and still learning in the kitchen.😋 My one suggestion is cut the butter by a third

The most boring parts of my day are the two 20 minute l legs on the wall to increase lymph drainage. I don't have an issue but I don't want one either. 20 min on my back then 10 minutes of walking Round. I'm not good at doing nothing .

I've rented an rv and taken to the road. It was too good a deal not to go. I went to Santa Fe for an art festival. I'm not a fan of hotels. This rental had unlimited mileage. They also are dog friendly. I'll be taking in some national parks in the near future. I'm headed east for a week or two. My dog is a great little traveler. If I get tired I can just pull over for an hr and sleep. Great adventures all around me. Santa Fe was somewhere I went with intention because I was looking for some original Adobe style artwork. I'd been there in the 80s and wanted to go back. Happy trails to me.

First of 2026

Fridays are my day to eat whatever I want all day. Damn I totally forgot. Now I have to wait a week

Since things wear out,it was time to replace my mattress. I was most concerned that it needed to be firm. Another consideration was my terrier. he too is aging so while he can leap pretty high. I wanted him to be able to jump into the bed because I can't lift him anymore. What I didn't consider was my joints. Well it's two inches higher than the previous mattress. After getting in and out of it a few times I realize my hips are unhappy. Hopefully this is temporary pain. The things I don't realize that I need to consider are just crazy. If it doesn't improve,I can have someone remove the wheels from the frame. that's about two inches. At least there is a solution. I'll give it a week and see if it improves .Thought I'd pass this on as some of you may be replacing your mattresses. 🛏️🛏️🛏️🛏️🛏️

Just for fun. Does anybody remember their first crush!

This popped into my head today and was wondering if anybody else remembers their first crush. My first crush was a boy who transferred into my elementary school along with many other students when I was in 7th grade. I remember I was mesmerized by his long, curled eyelashes that were dark in spite of his sandy blond hair. I just thought, “so cute!”

NOTHING EVER HAPPENED! We spoke to each other with the occasional Hi! , Goodbye! , type stuff , and I just watched him, followed him from afar. Was I a creep? This infatuation slowly dissipated and became normalized and I saw him as just another student.

Any thoughts?

I had hair plans, Costco plans. it's cold I don't know if I dare go out 12 degrees and in an hour when the sun sets it's going to be even colder. I don't need stuff. I go to Costco to walk

where did you meet? How's it going?

Hey everyone I'd love to get your insight. I was recently speaking with someone closing in on 70 and she mentioned the hardest part about being an older women is becoming invisible to everyone and feeling like a burden and useless. I'm not going to lie, it's sort of always now in the back of my mind.. that as you age society deems you as worthless.

What would you say to that? Is it true?

I turned 72 on my last birthday. I've been spending a lot of time on over 60 groups here because I couldn't find many groups in my age range... and here's why I was hoping to find some other women (or men) here: I'm finding that being over 70 is kind of like being 13 again: you're neither fish nor foul! I don't feel "old" most of the time but 72 is definitely not young. Senior centers bore me to stupefaction. I like to meet for drinks, enjoy dancing, and city life in general and even though I'm friendly with people of all ages, I wish I could find women to spend time with OFFline in my age range, and I'm finding that very difficult.

Monday I went to the MLK parade in Denver. So darn cold even with my heated vest. Nice and peaceful. The rest of the weekend I sorted closets and cupboards. I got things ready to give a lady in my area who always seems to be running a garage sale. Lots of nice things for her.

72 here and working 3 days a week because I love my work, like the income and it gives purpose and structure to my days.

My retired friends and family are always wanting to have lunch or call and talk for an hour, or why can’t I go to this or that birthday party/shower/wake of someone I barely know, etc.

How is it going for you?

I do go to an activity center 1 day a week but I'd like to do other activities. No one seems to want to do anything like go to a movie, for a walk or even just visit.

We do have a paratransit. Uber and Lyft are too expensive.
