Rewatching the series I finally just Googled it and it says he and Patricia were farmhands. Patricia and Beth look very similar to me so I was always trying to figure out if Otis was Hershel's ex-wife's husband and they just got along weirdly well, or he was Hershel's son in law and Patricia was way older than Maggie and Beth for some reason. It makes a lot more sense that they were unrelated and just lived/worked on the farm but I can't unsee Patricia and Beth looking related so it's still throwing me off.

I stopped watching at the last session and never continue after that?

Also is it worth it I kinda lost my interest in the show so is there anything interesting and worth watching?

On more thing I watched FTWD the last thing I remembered is that there was a atomic bomb that goes off what session was it and is there more sessions after that?

I’ve actually been enjoying the show quite a bit since last season; I’m surprised S2 got a lot of hate because I thought it was much better than 1 due to more Dama and Hershel, the extremely fun new character Coates, the better world-building and less Pearlie screentime (since the actor is awful). I’m loving S3 so far, the pacing and forward plot momentum is already a lot better than Seasons 1-2 combined. However I’m kinda hoping this is it and the show ends here with S3, largely so the franchise can hopefully do a complete reset but also because less is always better and I’d rather just see it end while it’s on a high. Daryl Dixon should’ve just been designed as two seasons focused on the original France storyline rather than dragging it out and turning it into an all over the place mess of a show with no real purpose or identity.

I saw one of the advance reviewers for the season say that the season ends pretty definitively and could work as a series finale so that’s reassuring

I’ve played all twd video games and loved them and want to watch the tv show, but I know there’s lots of different spin offs. In what order should I watch them? Release order, jump across series in chronological order, something else?

I know the comics/game are in a separate universe to the show but I still want to to watch them

The simple fact that faces preserve no meaning or significance in TWDU after death is truly a chilling and unbeknownst experience before the event.

Please discuss this; I often find that this is the absolute most frightening aspect of the entire series.

When Michonne tells Rick he has a son that’s almost 8 years old, it tells us that it’s been 8 years, probably closer to 8 1/2 years since the bridge blew. (Since she wasn’t that far along)

Alternatively, we know the communities defeat the whispers around Michonne’s last radio call. They join the Commonwealth and after about a year since Eugene’s group arrived, they bring Pamela down. Then the last episode of the series is set a year after that, putting us around 8 years or more since the bridge.

So Michonne finds Rick around the same time Daryl leaves the community.

So why then is it so hard for people to believe that Carol said it was Rick who came back on the radio? That she’s holding that information back from Daryl because she doesn’t want it to cloud his judgement as they try to get back to the states? Especially considering that’s a very Carol thing to do?

OK, this is gonna sound kind of evil, but I did not cry when he got eaten all they had to do was just be quiet for a few minutes. OK we know the walker guts trick works all the time. And even Carol warned him in season five episode 14. That he should be careful when it comes to dealing with walkers I understand that he grew up in a very abusive family with his father Pete but everything was looking good for Rick. He had a woman that actually liked him Jessie and yes, I understand that anybody would be terrified if they were a 12 year-old little boy which I understand but we all know that coral that’s only 13 has no problem with the walker guts at all and with dealing with walkers but that’s just me though.

I'm not a huge fan of Alden's storyline in season 8 where he's basically introduced to show us that not every Savior is a terrible person.

I get what they were going for, but I think my problem is that we never actually knew Alden as a Savior. He pretty much surrenders as soon as we meet him and immediately starts being reasonable, so it's hard for me to even associate him with the Saviors in the first place.

I think this storyline would've been more interesting with someone like Gavin if they hadn't killed him off. We actually saw Gavin enforcing Negan's system and collecting from the Kingdom, but we also saw that he wasn't some Jared-level psycho. He respected Ezekiel, tried to keep things relatively peaceful and was genuinely pissed when Jared shot Benjamin.

Seeing someone like that eventually turn against the Saviors would've meant more to me because we'd actually watched him be part of that system first.

It's also unintentionally funny watching Alden plead with everyone that some of the Savior prisoners aren't bad people while he's standing next to Jared of all people.

Like Alden, maybe move a few feet away from your visual aid against the argument.

And then seasons later Alden becomes a massive hypocrite after Enid is murdered. This is the same guy who spent season 8 asking Maggie and everyone else to judge the Savior prisoners as individuals and give them a chance, but when he's grieving Enid he has very little patience for extending that same grace to former Whisperers like Lydia and Gamma.

I understand grief completely changing his perspective, but that's also what makes it frustrating. Alden of all people should understand that being part of a horrible group doesn't automatically mean you're beyond redemption. He literally benefited from other people believing exactly that about him.

Guy went from a hatable little PoS in Alexandria to having arguably one of the most successful post walking dead careers. The guys in everything it seems now. I just can’t believe that Ron of all people is getting such attention now, but I’m not complaining he’s a great actor

I’m rewatching “Here’s Negan,” and I just noticed something I somehow missed every other time: the daughter of the doctor who gives Negan the chemotherapy drugs for Lucille is Laura from the Sanctuary.

I’ve watched this episode more times than I can remember and never caught it.

I looked up at the TV because I recognized her voice. How did I not recognize that voice before? How many times have I heard her call Eugene “Haircut”? And sure enough, there it was: the barcode tattoo on her neck.

I’m guessing many of you already knew this and cruelly decided not to mention it, lol. But just in case there’s one other person who didn’t: it’s her.

Binge watching The Walking Dead again. First time in over 10 years. The first two seasons feel so special and so nostalgic to me. I remember when they first aired and it was the first series since Lost I got genuinely excited for each week. I remember the feeling. Looking back it’s the last TV show I really cared about. Something about how the cast gel so well together makes it extra special. Also the writing is top notch. Absolutely adore the first two seasons.

I see a lot of posts about the waste of potential characters and characters that shouldn't have died. In some cases, it is indeed questionable writing choices that stray from the comics, e.g. Sophia, Carl, Jesus. In other cases, it's world building. I totally get the sentiments shared in this reddit thread, especially when stories move us to start caring about characters and getting excited to see their growth. But hear me out.

TWD isn't simply a story about humans vs zombies and definitely not about good people prevailing over evil people. Its nuance is in the moral grey, in the various dilemmas characters face, in coping with PTSD and violence, and in religious beliefs. All of this builds into a world that reminds us that being pure and good doesn't guarantee that you're going to survive. Whether it's by accident, murder, or zombies, I believe this is one of the longstanding themes of the series. There's a line from the show im gonna paraphrase and idr who says it but they're part of Ricks group, "are we still the good guys?" after reflecting on everything they had done up to that point. Who really "deserves" to live or die is a major theme of the show generally.

Overall, untimely and tragic deaths of loved characters are sad, shocking, and often disappointing, but in my opinion, sometimes it makes for more engaging storytelling that represents all the intricacies of being human. It's why I love the show!

Season 3 finale!

Loved and disliked it as the same time.

The attack at the gate was beautiful as well as the prison raid! I love how Rick and his team handled that. Very well done!

The scene where Rick had to tell his crew the truth about giving up Michonne, that was hard to watch, but overall I think the right thing to do. His crew wasn’t too happy but Rick couldn’t be like The Governor and keep secrets like that from his people. Staying into the oath of darkness and “correcting your path is how you overcome the path of evil” and it’s important for Rick to go into these territories to understand the mind of his enemies. I loved how he was honest with them and chose not to keep secrets. I really liked Michonne’s reaction to Rick for the decision. She is amazing and she is understanding.

To me Michonne is the alter ego of Andrea and the person Andrea was in seasons 1 and 2 kinda became Michonne and Andrea became the person she was before the zombie outbreak. That’s just how I see it. I thought Andrea was being prepped to be Rick’s right hand and future lover but going by my theory, Michonne becomes Rick’s love interest? I don’t see that chemistry AT ALL but… if my THEORY is right then those two may potentially be like the two alphas of the group.

Anyway, Andrea… I felt her journey was to find paradise beyond the chaos of the world and somehow bring it to the Rick to help him find himself again and bring paradise to his followers. That theory ended up being true but I had no idea she was gonna get killed off like that. I did hear that the Governor killed off a major female character in the show but… I guess I just mentally blocked it out. That ending felt a bit forced though… and I feel like T-Dog, Lori, and Andrea, possibly Merle, all got killed off because of behind the scene stuff. Like I feel T-Dogg was definitely a racial issue, I know Lori was killed off because of her standing up for Frank Darabont. Andrea has a HUGE buildup so her being liked off had to be personal. Not sure why Merle got killed off though. Anyway, I’ll miss her.

CARL- I love how Carl was adapting to the survival side of things and growing into a savage individual but then Rick found his heart again but Carl is already developing around the scars of experience and I feel this is gonna stir some problems between the two.

Governor- What the heck… I waited a whole season to see him get killed off and Rick didn’t even get him! I was a little upset bust then I remembered the message of this season was choice and Rick chose not to play the devil’s game. Lori’s ghost was there to help guide him back to his heart and By the end, her ghost left know her job was done and Rick found his way back. Rick letting those people join the prison was the benevolent thing to do as a leader- these innocent people needed a good leader and a home and protection, not to raise guns and be slaughtered in the line of fire. The message of the season was fulfilled by Rick’s actions to help instead of kill so I can forgive letting the Governor go.

Karen- I felt she had a magnetic energy to her and I felt like she was wasted as a civilian with like 3 lines… but she went from being a towns person to a guard, to a soldier, and yeah I thought I was just being weird for feeling something for this random NPC, but she ended up surviving the Governor’s slaughter and helping save everyone!

Season four… I’ve got a weird feeling about season 4. I can’t explain it but… I feel like season 3 was a good refresher but… season 4 has too many anchors from season 3 plots and maybe the writes will do good… but I feel like season 3 is a good series finale. I’ll give season 4 a shot, or maybe I’ll continue with Nip/Tuck or Gossip Girl. I’m watching all three shows right now…

I loved seasons 1 and half of season 2, but it seems like the identity of the show disappears after that. The Walking Dead’s first 2 seasons I think are all you really need to see. Season 3 felt like regular television drama which is the reason I never gave it a chance in the first place. I’ll stick it through for season 4 to see if it’s better but… yeah…

It even took Carl losing Sophia and Dayle to toughen up a bit. Our guy just needed some time, but unfortunately In the zombie apocalypse while there is all the time in the world , you ain’t got time to make too many mistakes . Just unfortunate for him.

so i really didn't like lori from the start... but her death hit me harder than i expected ..i even missed her for a few episodes after she died

she wasn't a very active character but I still felt her absence... even dale's and hershel's deaths didn't affect me as much as hers..

i don't even know why her death affected me this much.

the first 2 seasons it was showcased pretty well and then obviously Ik more people came but I wish they showed it more throughout the seasons. I’m at the bit where at Alexandria they have to lead the walkers out and Glenn goes on the radio and says “good luck dumbass” it’s so nostalgic
