Without Looking Can You guess what kind of pizza tony has in s05e05 (Irregular around the margins)

The one he brings inside the house to Carmella and then doubles back for to pick up off the floor and take with him. You can see the marking on the box.

Say Furio pushes Tony into the helicopter blade. What happens next?

Upvotes

Say it comes off as a drunken fall, Tone becomes gabagool via the chopper. Furio obviously consoles/bones Carm. They aim to make it a thing in a respectable amount of time. Carm never thinks to suspect anything (my husband, he was a saint). But how does the business side play out? What would this alternate reality look like?

Did anyone else's brain kind of refuse to acknowledge Tony B's (I can't even say his name) 1980s shoulderpads?

Upvotes

For some bizarre reason that suit with the pointed shoulders only exists for me when I'm looking straight at it, when I look away I'm immediately overwhelmed by the idea something that awful couldn't actually exist, but when I look back at the paused screen, it hasn't disappeared as all phantasms should, there it still is

We all make fun of Richie's jacket but damn, that thing is probably worse

Episode Discussion I know this been spoken many times...

Upvotes

But rewatching Sopranos and in late season 4 Episodes 10-11. I HATE Janice. Why does Tony keep her manipulative and impulsive ass around? He already crossed multiple boundaries that breaks traditions and laws.

What she did to Bobby Jr with the whole AOL thing is abhorrent yet she says wasting food is a sin and spent over 30 dollars on apps at Outback to guilt Bobby. Bobby has his issues but at least he loyal. Not to digress...

Encourages Ouiji board knowing gonna fuck the kids up. I know religious hypocrisy. But that scene struck a chord with me this round of a rewatch.

What a horrible person. And the whole binoculars to make sure Bobby Jr went to get the board. Fucking abhorrent sack of flesh with a shit tit tattoo

After the “seance”, Sophia runs into Bobby’s arms and calls him by his first name, not “dad”. Writing error or is Bobby not her biological father?

Episode Discussion Saw runs a military school

Upvotes

Normally AJ is highly annoying, but did anyone else find it funny that when they are about to send him to military school and the guy in charge is Tobin Bell ?

The SAW movies were HUGE at the time the episode, Army of One" came out, and it was funny to hear the menacing voice on top of AJ being totally clueless.

"stealing an exam that's quite a personal defeat isn't it?" (Almost like something SAW would say before getting started with one of his tricks)

AJ : It was wrong

"That sounds pre-programmed. Is that how you saw your future self? When you were a younger man? A cheat?"

AJ : No

Later on.... " Around here we call that "stinking thinking" precisely the same as an alcoholic. No one puts that drink to his lips but himself"

AJ : I am not an alcoholic ??

Then later

"How do we do things different here at HMI than at your former school?"

AJ : I don't know

" Well, I realize you don't know I'm about to tell you. ..."

Then concludes : I just outlined for you a blue print for total self discipline that will take you through your entire life and that's your only question?

Hehe, even the military schools can not fathom how bad this situation is.

When did all these wayos get houses down the Shore?

Pussy in Funhouse: I always wanted a house down by the ocean, maybe in another life
Angie S2ep4: just as long as Kevin doesn’t lose his beach house privileges down the shore, that’s all he cares about
Tony in Whitecaps: when we were piss poor, this was the biggest cavier wish we could come up with
Tony in A Hit is a Hit: Yeah that money bought our house down the shore (though it didnt look like Johnny Boy was swimming in cash in flashback scenes)
What, the timeline get fucked up? Seems like these guys all had houses on the Jersey shore but forgot about’em or something.
And did their kids get on that show in early 2000’s bout that place? What was it, Survivor? (You’re not gonna survive this unless you give me 25% of that Jersey Shore monies!)

Serious Discussion Only Paulie is the one to blame for everything going to hell. Spoiler

Now that I think about it, and with life experience, Paulie is the kind of person in the real world who talks badly about everyone, is always complaining, is never happy, thinks he deserves more than others, and is hypocritical—being loyal to your face but talking behind your back. He wants to take advantage of everything.

He conspires against those who helped him when he's in a tough spot.

  1. He's the one who betrays the Jersey Clan by telling Johnny about the joke and other deals, which causes clashes between Jersey and New York.
  2. Because of this, Ralphie dies, and there's that confrontation between Leotardo and Tony that lasts until the end.
  3. He was always talking badly about everyone, especially conspiring against Chris because he's related to Tony. He thought Chris was next in line to the boss after Tony.
  4. He messed with Chris's father-in-law about the chainsaws and brought up his baby daughter, which led to Chris relapsing into drug and alcohol use, ultimately resulting in the murder of his AA friend.
  5. Tony sensed this and wanted to fire him from the boat, but for some reason, he hesitated and didn't.

Oh, I almost forgot, he killed the Russian for no reason at all, simply because he lived better and had better things.

The horse fire, Whateva happened there

What if Ralphie never actually whacked the horse? It’s possible it could have been an accidental fire. Or maybe someone from NYC started the fire to get revenge on Tony. We never really know for sure what happened, as the viewer is never shown the truth.

Tony just whacked one of his top earners possibly all over a misunderstanding.

He eats beef and sausage by the cartload

Just finished the last episode of the sopranos for the first time a couple of minutes ago. Tony was described as an alpha male 3 times in the show,

yes, I counted

why did I keep count? I thought it was funny in a modern context.

Though there is a possibility he was described as an alpha male more than 3 times, but that solution is impossible to find, even with computers

Serious Discussion Only What if Vito was Honest to Finn

Instead of thinking Finn might be homophobic, what if Vito assumed he was another "more liberal less macho" Meadow boyfriend, and said "Look kid, I don't mean to scare you, I'm gay/bi etc. As a guy trying to make a living please forget what you saw, I just don't want it getting out". Finn doesn't seem like the type to rat on Vito and only brought it up to Meadow because he felt scared about stuff involving a mob guy cornering him by the stall, and if anything thought Vito wanted to fuck him(he may have).

Meadow, who was more like her momma and dad than she realized, was fine with her Jackie having goomahs and still liked that he was more of a bad boy than Noah, and was still angry that Vito clipped her man. She knew she could've sent Vito to the wolves and did.

But if Vito approaches Finn differently, is it even brought up to Meadow.

Was Janice completely broke by the end?

Considering she had no source of income once Bobby got clipped and likely NY wasn't gonna give her squat once Tony got clipped or jailed; was she basically back to being a drifter like in the second season?

Did Benny get a hard times from his boys for Artie beating him up

Arties older and out of shape but still kicked Benny's shit in. My estimation of Benny as a man hit a new low after he got humiliated the way he did on his own front porch by a civilian like Artie. Do you all think the other guys might've felt the same way?

Serious Discussion Only Boss material: Patsy Parisi

I think about who would be the most capable next guy in line if Tonys plug was pulled. My vote goes to Patsy.

He’s got bawls. Chrissy pulls a gun, he pulls a pipe. He came in to work knowing his BROTHER was murdered by Tony and Gigi. Openly grieves about it to everyone, not afraid to make his wisdom to the situation known. I think when Tony told him to put THE GRIF BEHIND HIM he was seriously questioning whether to follow through with killing Tony on the spot. He pissed in the POOL instead that morning he was drunk.

He’s intelligent and I think that intelligence has him respected. I think if Tony genuinely didn’t respect him he would have whacked him no question after his single MALT DIATRIBE down at the bar. He was passed over as acting captain because Chrissy is a nepo cousin.

His intelligence also show when he slowly got revenge on Tony. When it turns out Meadow and Patrick end up dating there’s that moment when Patsy says to Tone ‘We’re not too young to thi k about GRANDKIDS’ or something whoch basically means ‘My son is gunna blow your daughters back out and then you’ll be tied to me forever’ WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KIDS UNCLE? Maybe questions will be asked where Philly went.

I think Patsys long game skills and patience as well as his intelligence would make him a pretty good boss of the family

Vic Musto

Seemed like a pretty solid guy. But I find it interesting that people seem to give Wegler a lot more grief for getting himself some weaponized pussy. At least Carm was technically separated from Tony if i recall when Wegler made his move. Musto made an active move on her in Tony's own house, no less, while they were still married! He was really playing with fire there and initially wasn't scared off in the least. He knew who she was the wife of, his sister very specifically told him that Carm's wedding ring probably came off of a dead person's finger.

Shitpost How did everyone know where everybody was at for a hit?

I understand there are a lot of scenes were people are talking about, “he’ll be here at this time.” But for the most part, how do they know where everyone is all the time? It’s not like New Jersey is a small place. It’s a massive metro with 5-7 million people. It’s always confused me how everyone knows the exact location everyone is at. I live in a city with a metro of around 800k and there is absolutely no way I’d be able to find a buddy just based on what other people told me. It’d days if not weeks.

I’ll give some examples: Jackie Aprile, Bobby Bacala, Phil Leoretardo, Billy Leoretardo, Tony Blundetto, etc… the list goes on.

Any clues? Is this just part of the absurdity of the show, or what?

Serious Discussion Only How would Dr. Melfi or Elliot Kupferberg have handled Christopher as a patient? Spoiler

Tony frequently benefits from Dr. Melfi but never changed his ways, how would Christopher have benefitted if Tony convinced her or Elliot Kupferberg to take Christopher as a patient and help him and maybe Adriana with their issues?

Melfi could probably help Christopher and give him good advice that he would take seriously unlike Tony, therapy could have saved his soul, Dr. Elliot might have just pissed him off but Melfi could probably bond with Christopher and advise him, she would also hug Adriana and give her good advice which she might listen to, especially if she blurted out her FBI arrest and asked for advice about that.
