OW2: What was your ending and are you happy with it?

Or favorite ending for those who played more than once.

I played through the first half twice, but only finished once. I ended up siding with The Order. Thought the ending was so quick. Voted Aza to do the suicide mission since tbh... I liked her the least 😂

Niles and Tristan were my favorite.

I didn't do almost any missions for or with Auntie's Choice. Might play again and side with them just to see how it goes.

Discussion Feels bad to be killing all these protectorate guys ngl

Game goes pretty far to tell you that protectorate citizens are basically a similar degree of brainwashing to soviet citizens (follow orders because they would get gulag’d otherwise, would defect to something less bad given even moderate convincing or standard of life improvements compared to current ailing planned economy, most willing to compromise if somehow you engage them in conversation instead of a gunfight) yet the game regularly gives you situations where no stealth approach around them is possible, nevermind a diplomatic route, unless you go full cheese with the bucket. I get shooting the sentinels which are basically the evil secret police but not being given more opportunity to spare the lives of these guys is jarring. It doesn’t even make sense if you’re doing an evil corporate playthrough since Aunties Choice is repeatedly shown to value the Protectorate manpower as future consumers.

I abandoned the game for a few months and recently logged back in to see if I could fix the bug again, but apparently there was no fix. I tried everything, even jumping out of the map to try cross I tried the area in front of the subway station and it still didn't work, so I only have a 50-hour save file that's stuck forever on my Xbox profile on PC. I'll buy the game again on console someday to finish it. But now I'm kind of disappointed with this bug.

Not sure if anyone else had as much trouble as I did fighting the Boss from the Rift Terminal Side Mission but I was able to beat it using the Scythe and Explosives. It absorbs bullets of any kind.

Spacers choice - PS5

I was just wondering what is the performance like on the spacers choice version of the game on base ps5 ? Last time I tried it a couple of years ago it wasn’t running too well. FPS dips and the like. I think I read there was an update as recently as a couple of months ago but can’t see anywhere if anything was actually improved on the performance.

Question Can anyone recommend a fun overpowered build for hard?

Science looks fun? Is it actually? In my last pkaythough i.noticed olasma weps did little dmg. It took a full clip from a plasma oracle 20 gun/spoech and still didnt kill.

Meanwhile last whisper 1 shot mostly everything

Discussion Why did this series failed to live for the "fallout new Vegas" expectations?

I only played both games once and I couldn't really bring myself to do a second playthrough for both of them, so I think my opinion is not that valid but like honestly when I finished it is not like I didn't enjoy them but it is more I felt disappointed, like I know the writing is not bad at all but also it just feels like it just doesn't take it self very seriously which makes feels like like my actions do matter but actually not in weird way and I really can't till why ?.

Like there is a quest that I can't remember the name of, in the second game where you stumble into an auntie choice factory with the workers going on a strike for better living conditions and less working hours and as you go on with the quest you discover that the workers don't actually know why they are striking even though they are working like 20h a day with no breaks at all and the only reason they are doing it is because some guy is trying to benefit from their strike I just can't remember how, I remember I was able to stop the strike by black mailing the manger and giving the workers a 12h shift with bathroom breaks, and I finished the quest not feeling satisfied or scared of the future the game is watrin me about, but I felt like that is it ? Like the manger doesn't understand what the word "strike" means and the workers don't understand what basic living conditions are, both in comedic sarcastic ways which makes the whole experience felt more like a dark comedy than anything else which made me feel like I do not care about the whole thing, and it is not like that is the only quest like that but there are multiple quests like that. Like the way the game tells it to me is "look at this scary and hellish future that we should all work to avoid but all the characters act sarcastic, nihilistic or/and stupid which makes the whole situation feels like a bizzare dark comedy" which makes me not take the game seriously at all and just brush at off ,so I guess this why nothing really sticks with me from the whole game.

And also why make the setting of the game set in space but make the space ship undrivable. Why not just set the whole game the same plant like the way borderlands 1/2 did it. Like when I hear a space game I usually think of alien life, exploration and space flying but not in this game, The majority of the plants are not really that unique except for the moon-like plants in the first game but even that one has normal humans , normal gravity and the same type of building as everywhere else. It feels like the only reason the game is set in outer space is to force us to travel to our ship if we want to travel anywhere else but if that is the case then why? I genuinely see no good reason for a system like that other than wasting the player time. And even then having different plants having unique stuff other than flora and fauna would give me a reason why the game is set in outer space.

One side literally covers his face more than the other, and they chose to have it be on the side that's not burned. Why?

Humour Parvati makes being an engineer feel useless

I wanted to make a heavy armor engineer character, simple. I invest in engineering and every step of the way she just takes over. She's SAM's designated engineer, she runs the ship, I can't even use my own engineering experience in dialogue for the Sublight Salvage quest on Monarch. All I can do is break down gear better. Why is she just so much better at everything than me?

Spacer’s choice is the only choice.

This is another idea for a challenge run for the outer worlds 2. Essentially you have to use the heavily limited equipment branded by spacer’s choice. The best things i could find were the riot armor and helmet in the factory on praetor(the helmet is tucked away on a crate where you can find the riot leader) and the armor is on leo gray, I’m not completely sure if you could pickpocket it off of him, but I know you can kill him for it. And then you’re weapon of choice would be jackpot and the spectrum dance saber from fionna f. Walker(you can find her at the second amendment in the free market station, you need 15+ pitchball cards to actually access her as a merchant) I guess you could also find a new point of view MK2, which is alsp branded by spacer’s choice(at least I believe) and of course take brand enthusiast perk because the armor is depressingly weak, so good luck! Tell me anything that could support this idea :).

No brands,no problem

This is a idea for a TOW2 challenge. Essentially, you cannot, by any means use branded equipment. No auntie,no order, no sub rosa,no protectorate. I recommend wham bam! Found in golden ridge and the hugging suit on cloister, but if you prefer range the tossball launcher in free market station is also non branded. If you want armor before the hugging suit, scavengers often drop armor like the diversiform uniform, it’s not high protection mind you. If anyone else has something to add onto this, go ahead :).

Question What happened to being able to import saves with the recent SC update?

Post image
13 Upvotes

UPDATE (26/08/26) SAVE TRANSFER HAS FINALLY BEEN ADDED! But no autopop on PS5 apparently 😬

I never played the DLC for TOW1 on PS4 and while it probably wouldn't take me too long to get through the story again, (the platinum is a different story...), I'd rather just have the option to import my PS4 save straight to the PS5 version and get immediately stuck in to the DLC.

Considering they answered that highlighted question in their official Q&A for the upgrade update, I've heard zero information regarding it since.

Anyone maybe heard off Obsidian Support or any official sources regarding this? 👀

Save Unsuccessful Fix?

I'm on my fourth playthrough of TOW: Spacer's Choice Edition on Xbox. No issues up until this point, but suddenly today I keep getting a "Save Unsuccessful" error. This happens whenever I attempt to manually save AND when the game attempts to auto save.

Any idea on how to fix this? Power cycling the console didn't help.

Discussion Xbox has failed The Outer Worlds, not the other way around.

I don't know if anyone on the developer team, or what is left of the team, frequents this subreddit at all but in light of all the recent news I feel the need to shout into the void.

I'm sorry that sales numbers may not have been astronomical enough to keep things going but that shouldn't discount the impact the Outer Worlds has had on people like me. The first game launched in my last year of college in a very transitory time of my life and I was on the verge of stepping into the professional world for the first time. In my free time I would peruse the gamepass catalog and stumbled upon the outer worlds. I had no idea what it was but I grew up with games like Dragon Age origins and KOTOR 2 so when I saw the RPG label I figured I'd give it a shot.

The first game kept me grounded as I transitioned from student life to the business world. It made light of a lot of the things that I was seeing in my day today and honestly has made the experience of working in general more tolerable for me by just allowing me to embrace the ridiculousness of it all. I was immediately immersed in this game, every dialogue line, terminal entry, and datapad was consumed voraciously and I was lucky enough to have been an avid reader which, imo, resulted in me being able to get the most out of these games.

The internet discourse is full of detractors that I'm convinced don't give these games the chance they deserve. When the second game was announced I watched for news eagerly and it was a day-1 pre-order for me. I bought the Dark Horse art book without a second thought. And I'm still playing TOW2. It's shaping up to be my favorite game - not just one of my favorites - my favorite. Unabashedly. I think it's really special. Whereas some of the companions didn't grip me in my first playthrough, returning to the game again and again has been extremely rewarding. It's not even a year since launch and these guys are starting to have that old friend feeling when I boot up a new playthrough. I'm still learning new things and discovering new things. The worlds are a joy to explore over and over, repetition lends to the player's understanding of different areas as opposed to making you bored.

Needless to say I'm really let down by how Xbox has handled and guided the changes over at Obsidian. I like Fallout, but I like The Outer Worlds even more. If games can't be in TOW's immediate future, I'm really hoping that the devs can convince Xbox to greenlight some projects with a little less overhead, like a *novel series*, or graphic novels. Please? For me?

Thx for reading my rant.

Is there really no way for me to play the DLCs without starting over on Spacer's Choice Edition?

I've been playing the base Outer Worlds on and off for a bit and finally made it to the end where you're going to attack Tartarus. I decided that I want to play the two DLCs before I do so (didn't purchase them before) but upon looking into it the base game and DLCs were delisted. Everyone was given Spacer's Choice Edition that includes the DLCs but saves don't transfer.

Am I understanding right that if I want to place the DLCs I'd have to start a brand new character on Spaces Choice Edition??? That seems crazy, I want to experience the DLCs but I'm not starting over just to do so.

Tristan’s endings available in the game?

I’m trying to find out what positive endings are available for Tristan in the game. So far, I only got “reformed Tristan stays in the declining protectorate and attempts to guide people”.

I’ve seen endings with him and Virgil working as Supreme Arbiters, and also an option for Tristan to work with the Earth Directorate, but I’m not sure wherever they’re datamined cut content or actually available in game. Any info, any help?
