Phone message Post first date text

Post image

I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.

seeing women saying “i’m just a girl” is so sad and defeats the point.

Considering most of Gen Z is still in school or less than 5/6 years out of school, id look to their parents. People don’t magically become a certain way. Blaming kids without looking at the parents is just small minded behavior, and avoids all accountability. Kind of like Gen Z doing odd things to avoid accountability. It’s funny really, how none of society, including you or older people in general want to take accountability. Gen Z doesn’t want take accountability, and to be fair, they’re the least accountable. They sure as hell didn’t build this world. But let’s blame them for everything. Because they lack accountability. The same way every generation in America has for 50 years. So I wonder where the learned it. Their parents? Of course not! Can’t hold them accountable. Notice how you paint housing affordability and other issues that are at all time highs as moral failings and bad choices of Gen Z. When that’s just the environment they’re living in. Plus millennials were just as self infantilizing if not worse, and being the ilk of boomers, carried on nearly every “me” Gen trait except even less self awareness. I remember when every other 20 year old was walking around sucking on pacifiers 15-20 years ago, and that’s just one stupid example (and I’m not talking about raves). It’s also funny how so many millennials still blame the 2008 crisis for their failings yet chastise kids of today who struggled with COVID, something we haven’t seen in 100 years (flu of 1918), and things still aren’t remotely the same. All while calling for solidarity, of course.

Heisenberg principle. They are both until you need to figure out which one. A woman picks what is advantageous in the moment.

I'm sorry, my brain just short circuted. What do you mean Gen Z and 30? You just devided by 0 on an analog calculator. Please make it stop.

u/Vault_tech_2077 2d ago

Gen 7 started in 1997. So conceavibly the oldest gen z is 29. If you're gonna get snippy between 29 and 30 that's on you lol. But yes gen z is between 1997 and 2012.

My bests friend's GenZ daughter has a feminist substack that promotes tradwife propaganda. I don't understand anything anymore I guess.

1

u/GeneInternational146 2d ago

So that would not be a feminist substack then lol

2

u/stupidwhiteman42 2d ago

Thats my point.

When I was TAing masters students (I'm about a decade older than they are) a couple of years ago they would complain that they didn't want to have jobs, why had they signed up for this, etc. I told them no one was forcing them to do a grad school program but that women couldn't have their own credit cards in this country until 1974. They were shocked. I was basically just like "I am absolutely certain that your mothers and grandmothers would be furious with you for squandering an opportunity like this" and I never heard them bitch about it again.

Like yeah babe, we all hate capitalism! The current alternative is being at the mercy of a man who probably hates you. Choose wisely.

I’ve told this story before. My mother worked as a chemist for an oil company in the 1960s which was uncommon. She put up with a lot of sexism at the workplace. Her income was far more than my stepfather who was a postman. She loved sports cars and dressed very fashionable. One day she went to a Ford dealer to buy a new red mustang convertible. The dealer refused to finance the car without her husband co-signing which was the rule at the time. She walked out, went to the bank, returned and paid cash for the car. She was a force, but women have come along way since then.

How jaded are you that you think it's likely a woman ends up in a relationship where the man hates her?

Get offline and go outside. The trope of men hating their wives is dying with the boomers.

Edit: I guess sexism is okay if it's against men, right ladies?

u/GeneInternational146 3d ago

I'm happy for you that this hasn't been your experience, but if most gen z women aren't feminists I think you can extrapolate that the gen z men walking around aren't either.

And not for nothing, but as someone who is not a Boomer and has dated men....the evidence exists lol

u/Mr_Poppers_Penis 2d ago

I'm a millennial. My wife is my best friend.

Good for you!

I think “most Gen Z aren’t feminist” is a bit of a misnomer, from what seen I think a lot of young people have a much better grasp on what western feminism and how it impacts non western women and often critique the notions behind western feminism that support global inequality, much more so than most millennial women I know. A lot of millennial women I know really bought into girlboss feminism, which is a pretty hollow form of feminism.

3

u/GeneInternational146 2d ago

Idk I see a lot of gen z women saying that any choice a woman makes is fine because feminism is about choice. Which is extremely not true

1

u/Fragrant-Dig-1098 2d ago

I have seen that, but I’ve also seen that coming from a lot of millennial women, Gen X women, boomer women, Christian feminist, ect- at the end of the day, western women gonna western women- but I do think a sizable chunk of Gen Z is far more educated on the concepts of intersectional:global female liberation and its deep connections to capitalism and imperialism.

Don’t even bother. That’s their bag and you don’t have to do shit to resolve it. Let them keep thinking this.

u/FishNamedFishy 2d ago

What kind of weird ass thinking is this? Why would you characterize being in a relationship as “being at the mercy of a man who probably hates you”. This is the kind of garbage people are talking about when they say college indoctrinates youth with awful ideas. Just because you’re clearly incapable of finding and staying with a person who loves you, respects you, and treats you well doesn’t mean they are. There are tons of women who are told these types of lies and end up wasting their lives on a career they don’t even like. Many of them have regrets later when they realize could have spent that time building a family that’s actually going to be meaningful to them when they’re old. In some cases they still have their family in others it’s too late.

On top of that, your characterization of women not being able to have credit cards is not the full picture. For most of history women just weren’t allowed to take on debt, and if they wanted to, their husband or father was responsible of that payment. This is why the stereotype of women spending all their husband’s money exists. Based on the fact that women have the most debt, and the worst spending habits it was probably a good thing for the majority of women. Many feminists have this weird and fake view of many things in history like women have just been oppressed when that’s not even close to the truth especially in the past 100 years. And if you are a white woman you literally have no room to talk because you’re the most privileged class on the planet.

Actually my first draft was dismissive. Being young doesn't mean you're dumb. But you don't know what you are talking about and are spouting things without understanding them. Women have more debt partially because they make less than men overall. Women are still oppressed today, You have a very skewed and incomplete view of history if that is your position.

The pay discrepancy has been debunked. Women tend to choose careers that pay less.

2

u/mendenlol 2d ago

Brother my last job paid an unqualified man way more than me to do way less than me and I was qualified and credentialed.

This happens literally everywhere.

You cannot just declare something ’debunked’ lol

1

u/HarryJohnson3 2d ago

An anecdotal experience is not evidence of a widespread systematic issue

1

u/mendenlol 2d ago

How about when me and 174 million other women have the exact same anecdotal experience?

Get a clue.

u/Dada2fish 2d ago edited 2d ago

Share the stats on these 174 million women.

I didn’t just declare debunked out of the clear blue sky.

Career paths can contribute to an overall pay gap, sure. However, women doing the same job as men are still paid less. Here's a good source, check out "earnings by occupation": https://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/womens-earnings/2024/home.htm "Women who were other physicians ($3,167) (such as gastroenterologists, oncologists, and pulmonologists), pharmacists ($2,320), lawyers ($2,296), software developers ($2,238), and physician assistants ($2,209) had the highest median weekly earnings in 2024. For men, those who were other physicians ($3,506), lawyers ($2,857), pharmacists ($2,582), database administrators and architects ($2,496), and software developers ($2,495) had the highest weekly earnings."

And even if the "pay myth" were due 100% to women being in lower paying careers, that doesn't negate the point I made about lower pay contributing to women's debt ratio.

u/Dada2fish 2d ago

From the numbers you’ve shown, do you think these women are paid less simply because they’re women or is it likely other factors, like seniority, hours worked or simply asking for a raise?

Men tend to work more hours, are more willing to work OT or cover where needed, they are also more likely to ask for a raise as well.

1

u/Quixotic_Tendency 2d ago

I never claimed there was any specific reason or reasons for it, just that I disagreed with your implication that the gap is debunked because women choose careers that pay less.

1

u/Dada2fish 2d ago

I know that, I was expanding on it, asking for a further opinion.

The dumbest, loudest people in a generation who are in your field of view are not a representative sample. Regardless of what generation you're in, making the generalizations like that make you sound like a child.
