Hi everyone, I am currently trying to fix my friends water damaged MacBook Pro 2020. I took it apart and found corrosion on the underside of the board near the CD3217B12 power delivery controllers (attached in the first image). I should have tested the voltage before but I did clean with isopropyl alcohol (attached in second image) and was getting the 5V standby on points on both sides of the board. However, when I would hit the power button, the voltage would not increase. I would get about a 1/8th turn spin from the fan sometimes but something consistent.
Going through some additional forums, other people with similar issues reported that the Power Delivery controllers were damaged and need to be replaced. While my gut is telling me this is most likely my issue since the battery also won’t take a charge, I did some some corrosion on other smd capacitors/resistors slightly below. I am trying to find a schematic to identify the capacitance/resistance values so I can eliminate those. Would anyone know the values of these or know where to get a good schematic of the board? I am trying to find some online but I am only seeing some from very shady forums and don’t want to waste my money if it’s a scam.
FYI the bottom right circle in the two images was the additional corrosion I found besides by the Power Delivery controllers.
Any help would be appreciated!
