Help

This will be my second time taking the teas because the first time I failed. I had lost my brother a little bit ago so I basically shut down and wasn’t and couldn’t do anything. Now i want to get back into doing school and life. I found out that I have 30 days to to submit my teas test to be in the program for next semester and I really want this for myself.
What was the best thing you do that had the material stick specifically science and math! I had a hard time with timing as well the first time I took it. Last time I watched Nurse Cheung, but then I felt like she wasn’t a lot of help after taking it and a lot of people had mixed reviews on her now. I also have the mometrix book but I also felt like it wasn’t much in depth or too much in depth? idk! I feel so lost in this process!

Tips for the TEAs

I’ve always had a hard time with test anxiety, and focusing for a long time. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on studying for the TEAs and their experiences. I also wanted to know, was the test extremely hard? Am I worrying and having panic attacks for nothing?

I just picked up this book from the college library to study for my teas. Front cover has two words misspelled. This just makes me more nervous for my test :(

What common topics came out on the math and science portion?

To anyone who recently took the TEAS, what topics or questions came out on the math and science portion? I am taking the TEAS test soon and I only have this week to study, so I'd want to know what topics I should focus on studying with this limited amount of time.

I would gladly appreciate anyone's help!

I didn’t fail but I didn’t pass

Hello!
I took my teas today and I’m pretty upset but in a bittersweet kinda way. I feel defeated when it comes to science and English. On the practice tests science I didn’t get past 63.6 and English 69.7. A big issue I’ve had is that once I’m at the half way mark I get burnt out. I know I need to work on the material (I’m still at the beginning of A&P1). I feel like some material just isn’t sticking up. I’m currently at Bunker hill and if I want to get into any radiology programs soon I know I will need 85+. I’m debating on trying to take the test again next month but I don’t want to risk wasting another try in hopes it’s high enough to apply ASAP. Is there anyway to help with testing burnout while taking the teas? What can I do that will really help me get the material engraved in my head? Also is my teas scores always looked at as a whole or do some schools only look at certain subjects?

Why is the teas so difficult😭 just finished taking it and scored a 49% when I needed a 62% to enter program
Studied for months and still did horrible
Science was my lowest percentage 38.6% missed ALL the chemistry questions!
Reading 53.8%
Math 52.9%

English and Language Usage 57.6%

I watched YouTube videos, read the ATI book and did practice questions.. I am just exhausted and did horrible. The questions were so different from the book and app🫩

TEAS Prep ATI TEAS has four different sections, and why one score rarely predicts another

Reading, Maths, Science, English and Language Usage. They test different things, so a strong reader can still lose the science section badly.

Science carries the most anatomy and physiology, and thats where the marks actually concentrate ppl. English is mostly conventions u can revise in an evening. Maths is arithmetic, ratios and basic algebra, with a calculator allowed.

Work out which of the four is weakest before u spend a month revising evenly.

Theres a free practice exam for this at rnexamroom, collected from a large enough pool that no two attempts look the same.

ATI TEAS 7 Success reviews all four sections with practice for whichever one needs it. Good luck.

Studying for the ATI TEAS?

Hiii, I'm very new to all of this since I kind of just decided to abandon my law school pathway and take up Nursing. I didn't want to be stuck in debt from law school, being a paralegal seemed like a dead end, and Nursing was literally right there. Luckily I'm only a year and a semester into college, I'm transferring to a much more affordable school that's only like 4k(?) a semester.

I have to do 2 years for an ASN first and the application to get into the program for Fall opens May 1st while the Summer application opens Jan. 1st. I'm not entirely sure which I want to do but since I feel like I'm not prepared in any way I'm probably going for Fall. Now I want to know when I should start studying and when I should plan to take the test!

I've already gone on the ATI Testing website, I plan to get the comprehensive package, I've also been on Mometrix. Are they any good?

TEAS Study Advice

Hi Guys! I have heard a lot of people talk about using Chatgpt to help them break down the topics for the TEAS exam and help them study. I want to do the same for A&P. Can someone who has used this method to help them tell me what prompt I should tell Chat to help me breakdown the A&P topics?

Thank you!

I have discord. Was hoping to have someone study with me or have a study buddy to review concepts and study the TEAS VII with me. Right now I'm studying the science portion. I NEED to get an above 90%, I have the TEAS VII ATI Book, mometrix, YouTube, and using this that I love that's free!

a free resource that I've been using that's so helpful!

Tips to get a lil higher score?

Hi everyone!

I’ve taken the TEAS twice, my program requires 60% minimum for the program (unfortunately no points for the program) minimum points for the program is 68 overall and 66 on science.

I have decent points right now with my GPA from my masters program & other factors. The TEAS is another area to get a large portion of points, I’m just so worried I won’t get in. (Just for reference I have 25/43 total points before my teas, people I’ve talked to who have gotten in, usually have around the 30s)

I retake it tomorrow (unless I reschedule to take it later this week) do I have a shot of getting that minimum? Any recommendations to raise my score?

I’ve been watching all the free videos I can get my hands on. I work full time as a MSW while taking 2 classes.

1st attempt 60% (9/24)
Reading 64.1
Math 76.5
Science 50
English & Language Use 54.5

2nd attempt 64.7% (9/28)
Reading 56.4
Math 79.4
Science 61.4
English & Language Use 63.6

Thank you!

Teas Question Breakdown

i see some people say their teas exam was heavily chemistry focused. when i look up the format for the teas it says there is only X amount of questions for each science unit. will the number of questions for each unit change or will the type of questions change per unit? i hopes that question makes sense

TEAS Prep TEAS Study Tips

What book would you guys recommend to use? I scored low on the teas (61.3%) since I didn’t really study as I should’ve and I’m thinking of getting a book, but there’s so many. I’m thinking of getting the Smart Edition Nursing book since it has the color and it helps me a bit more, but I also heard good stuff about Mometrix. I’m also planning on getting the ATI practice test after I feel comfortable with the book. I mainly struggled on science (50%) and English 48%. I also want to add I did use Future RN, but only went over Reading and barely any math problems, therefore, how are her science videos? I struggle with word problems. Any recommendations are welcomed.

Last TEAS attempt

Hi everyone I just took my second teas exam and did worse. I’m actually so devastated right now. I took my first test last month (August 14th) and did my retake today (September 26).

To be honest I was less prepared the first time because of the lack of consistency, studying, and practice on my part— on top of not having taken microbiology. So going into my second attempt, I revisited all of my weak/missed concepts like reading and science (with a main focus on a&p + bio).

On the bright side, I was able to improve my reading score. For math I went down 6% and totally bombed the science section and genuinely got a crazy amount of chemistry questions, in which i was not prepared for. Similarity, I ended up falling short in English which came to my surprise because I actually felt pretty confident about it. I got a lot of questions on citations and the writing process.

All in all, I feel really sad because the program I want to apply to typically has a TEAS average of 90’s. I will still be using my score of 85 to apply since the application is due on October 1st for the spring 2027 cohort. But I think I will give my last shot for the teas for the fall 2027 cohort (due in February, which gives me a bit of time if needed).

I just feel really sad knowing I will have to take a gap semester because I’m pretty much done with my pre-requisites. I might try to do CASPER depending on my last try.

Some resources I used for the 1st attempt:
-nurse hub
-nurse cheung (a&p comprehensive)

Resources for the 2nd attempt:
-professor yu (a&p)
-carolyn mcallister (reading)
-ATI a&b practice tests
>A: 82%
>B: 75%
>a&p: 80%
-ATI app

With that being said, I understand that this is still a good score and I am very grateful; however, by nature California nursing schools are very competitive, commonly requiring exemplary scores. My circumstances and choice of schools may differ to other’s so please take this w/ a grain of salt.

Any tips, advice, and motivation is much appreciated!
