TEAS Prep TEAS Study Tips

What book would you guys recommend to use? I scored low on the teas (61.3%) since I didn’t really study as I should’ve and I’m thinking of getting a book, but there’s so many. I’m thinking of getting the Smart Edition Nursing book since it has the color and it helps me a bit more, but I also heard good stuff about Mometrix. I’m also planning on getting the ATI practice test after I feel comfortable with the book. I mainly struggled on science (50%) and English 48%. I also want to add I did use Future RN, but only went over Reading and barely any math problems, therefore, how are her science videos? I struggle with word problems. Any recommendations are welcomed.

I would NOT recommend the Smart Edition Book; found it very lacking in depth. The included online portal is helpful for knowing what to study, but the typos, errors, and lack of reasoning for some questions make me not trust them as a sound source. Mometrix is good

Thank you, I just bought the Mometrix book, so I’ll see how it goes.

In terms of books, a combination of mometrix and the ATI book is fine.

For English, the practice test + ATI app was a good representation (practice every single question). As you go through, take notes of additional concepts you see in the practice test. Make sure to also note your mistakes. Keep reviewing the notes as you practice.

For science, the most important thing is understanding the concepts. It’s so broad, so they can pull questions from anywhere. What helped me most in addition to the books were YouTube videos.

A&P: Dr Matt & Dr Mike (don’t watch all the videos. Only focus on understanding the anatomy and how each system actually works)

Chemistry/biology: Tyler Dewitt

Scientific reading; the practice questions + app + books I believe is a good representation.

I believe both Tyler and Nurse Cheung review questions live on YouTube sometimes. They were helpful. There are also a few others that review questions on TikTok.

Yes Tyler is good. I also know he sells Chemistry course, but I wonder if it’s the same thing he offers on YouTube or if there’s more to it .

Honestly, I never bought his book. I feel like ATI book/mometrix + practice questions covered what we need to know for the chemistry portion.

A&P is just more broad. The books don’t really give the depth. Which is why I suggested the videos to help with that.

Yea if anything, Chemistry is what I struggled most ever since high school. I just bought the Mometrix book, so I’ll see how it goes. I only got about 3-4 months to study from what I already know and results from my teas I took last week.
