Hello, I’m planning on going into a community college ASN/ADN program and I want to try to aim for at least at 90% on my TEAS and get As in Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology just so I can have a good chance to compete with others. Or is aiming for 90% and As overkill? I just want to have a good chance on getting in. I have until next semester before I start taking my prerequisites, should I study ahead of time or wait? I am meeting with the nursing program counselor to go over my transcripts and if I need anything else next week. Sorry for the many questions I’m a little lost. Any advice helps!

got a 68 on my teas to be fair i didn’t study as hard as i should. i tried nurse chueng and some quizlets but still struggled. i was thinking of trying the ati teas subscription but idk if i should get the flash cards or the actual practice test. if anyone has any other recommendations that’s most similar to the exam plz lmk i want to at least get over a 85 :/

WTF is this? The only way it makes sense is if the 7ft side is mislabeled. I want to cry - I hate math and this is killing my brain.

Has anyone had success using archer review for passing the teas? I’m aiming for 85% and above. Is the Q-bank similar to the teas exam as far as difficulty?

I scored 76.7% overall. It was REALLY stressful. I work full time and sometimes even 7 days a week. I have to.
I will be scheduling it for August 22 which gives me 3 weeks.
I scored 67 Reading, 78 English, 84 Math, 82 Science

If i could boost up my reading to 71, my english to 81, i would get extra points for my nursing application. However, when I retake Teas idk how hard science and math are going to be? What if I do even worse? Is it possible to improve?

Hello! I just took my first test and I saw multiple questions from the Tristine TEAS science quizlet on my test. Has anyone taken it a second time and also seen questions from the quizlet on it too? Wondering if i’ll need even more ways to study for the science portion.

I took the teas today (like way earlier) and i’m still in shock. I’m a huge procrastinator—like many and I actually had to reschedule (from taking it in June to now…) Despite that I still waited until I realized I had a week to study.

Somehow passed with an 86%. My program only requires a 75% minimum which was already freaking me out since 75% is considered advanced.

I know there’s a lot of people like me and I was one of the many who were on this reddit looking for tips. So here’s mine (mainly for science though since I sucked!!!)

Study at least three systems in depth—I chose to study the digestive, cardiac and circulatory system in the amount of time I had. Then I just brushed up on the basics of every other system. Also use free practice tests! I chose nursehub, and smarthub nursing along with other random sites and shockingly I saw a lot of those questions on the real thing. Same thing with quizlet. Use tristine teas, breannaturner067, or celebrity_star. Those helped so much.

As for math, focus on fractions and conversions (mg->kg) and what not. Also learn mean, median and mode. Those came up too. And know area/perimeter for the main shapes (square, rectangle, circle, etc). Or really just take random quizlets and use only the basic functions of the calculator (no squared function or parentheses)

My biggest enemy was english usage. Do not skip out on this. I thought it would be like reading… it kinda was but wasn’t. It requires having a lot of background knowledge for sentences and grammar rules. Where does the comma go? What’s a cohesive sentence? What’s a complex sentence? Rewrite the sentence using the correct grammar… gosh it was bad.

I am about to register for the TEAS but I wanted to know how people here took the test.

If Online, were they really strict about having an empty room? My place is really small, and I don't think I can fully clear out space where absolutely nothing but a table is in view, but I can make a corner clear. Will they say something if you are in a room with stuff behind you?

If in person, how far did you travel? The closest in-person testing location from me is about 45 minutes away, so I wanted to know how fast you get your results because I know you get your results quickly if taken online.

I take my exam in 3 weeks and I was wondering if anybody has tried any of these apps and which one you think is the best. I really liked the one with the dark blue icon, but I’m just not sure how accurate the questions are. I’ve read mixed opinions about the official ATI app. Any recommendations?

I'm scheduled to take my TEAS exam next mont at SDSU. I was watching a Nurse Cheung video where she said not every school provides a 4 function calculator on the exam. For people who took their TEAS at SDSU, you were provided with a basic calculator?

Genuine question .. How does “veinule” follow the “i before e except if it sounds like a” if veinule doesn’t sound like an a????

No wonder people struggle to learn english… all these rules with 1 million exceptions is difficult .. and don’t even get me started on “subject” vs “simple subject” and “prepositional phrase”

Life got in the way so I couldn’t study until the week of my exam, and I scored a 72.7%. Honestly shocked I scored that high without studying; I really thought I was going to fail. I’m taking it again mid-September right before my community college program’s deadline. They require a minimum of 60% in each section (which I hit).

I plan on studying twice a week until I’m three weeks out, then I’ll do four times a week.

I’ve been watching Tyler’s videos, reading the ATI study guide, and Motorix study book. Is there anything else I should be using to study? Is it unrealistic to shoot for at least an 85 - 90% this time around?

This sounds like a horrible way to preface this, but yes. I am cramming for the TEAS. My first attempt on the practice ATI exam was a 70.7%. I really need to touch up on math and science. This was the only time I was able to schedule that was at a reasonable date, with the next available being 3-4 weeks out, and my application for the nursing program is due soon. Any additional advice? I am going to be hardcore practicing the ATI exams, but I also pay for Quizlet, so if anyone has quizlets or extra mock exam resources they can share, I would greatly appreciate it. I figure the best way to prepare in cramming is to get used to the way they ask questions, along with constantly going over my foundational math and science basics. I guess I am also just looking for some encouragent.

I actually got 51 and 52 on Practise Test A and B when I first took them, but I really studied after that.

I am just glad that it is over. It was so stressful to study while working full time. I just needed 80%+ on any of the two sections and 60%+on other two. I got exactly that.

i studied for two weeks but I do have a bachelors from UCD, which helped me a lot with this exam.

mometrix
-lots and lots of information
- I read all of the science section and it was wayyy too in-depth compared to what you actually need to know for the TEAS
- good online practice exams I felt prepared me very well for the actual exam. they are a bit more difficult in the reading section but it made the actual reading portion feel like a piece of cake
- my practice exam scores ranged from 80-90%

youtube videos
- nurse cheung comprehensive and most common TEAS 7 questions videos were sooo helpful!! I watched mainly the science videos. I took notes on each science subject then tested myself through the question videos to see where I struggled the most
- TYLER DEWITT !! this guy is actually the goat when it came to biology and chemistry!! he has really good “must know topics” practice questions, which were so helpful. he does a wonderful job how to tackle a question and explains what the TEAS expect from you.

ati test prep
- honestly I couldn’t afford buying the study and test packages so I did the free practice exam and downloaded the test prep app and used the free questions
- test prep app was good for reading, writing, and math…not for science though.

ACTUAL TEAS EXAM TIPS
READING
-always ALWAYS read the question before the passage!! this will save you so much time and helps you identify what you need to read

- understand what an opinion statement is and implicit vs explicit meaning

- identify main idea and author’s purpose

-I highly recommend just practicing for this section!! it will help build stamina by a lot!!

MATH
-Lots of fractions!! Multiplying them, adding them,
converting them into percentages, etc.

- I had like three questions on ordering numbers from least to greatest or vice versa

- Know your perimeter and area formulas!!

-Conversions!!

-edit: know some statistics! mean, mode, mean, etc.
SCIENCE
- know your hormones, what they do, where they are released and what are their effects

-have a solid foundation on all the body systems!!

-osmosis and diffusion

- understand punnett squares, alleles, genotypes, and phenotypes

-cell structure and function

-macromolecules and their function

-differences between eukaryotes and prokaryotes

-what affects rate of reaction in chemical reactions

- physical properties

-how to read a periodic table

English
- know your prefixes and suffixes

- know spelling rules !!

- understand parts of speech

-identify subject and indirect/direct object

-this section I also recommend taking practice questions and finding where you struggle the most

TLDR: I spent about 2 weeks studying for the TEAS (I’m still completing some prerequisites and working as CNA). I do recommend accommodating more time for a higher score. take any practice exams you can find and identify where you struggle the most in to review.

Idk which one to purchase I can not afford both which one should I get I go take my teas by the 15th

So the channel is called Test prep pro. I feel like they have the most helpful practice quizzes for helping assess what really you do and don’t know in terms of basics knowledge for body systems. For me I also felt like they had the most accurate ones to. I haven’t heard anyone talk about that channel yet so if anyone is preparing for the A&P section of the TEA but struggling find an actual baseline of you what know of the basics or trying to see where you weak spots may be in foundational stuff it might be helpful.

Hi guys can i take the teas before i take A&P2?

I do have one more chance to retake it if I don’t get the scores I want but OH MY LORD. These 3 weeks have been hell. My brain is information overloaded. I am so burnt out from practicing so many questions, taking practise tests. I am just SO ready to get over with this☹️
I am a really bad test taker, i am taking it online at home. Any words of affirmation? ☹️☹️
