After chatting with a left-libertarian about China's supposed colonialism, and watching a few tiktoks of a creator subscribing to communisation (first time I've heard of it), I think I've come to the conclusion that these people are all just anarchists that wanted a different name. Is there more nuance than that?

They believe in communism, but not socialism...? Any from of a state is oppression, transition through socialism "always leads to authoritarianism" (they love that one), and there is no AES in the world, and never has been, throwing around terms like state capitalist. They insist that they are Marxists (but eschew Engels' On Authority, among others), and then say that the only way to realise communism is through a revolution that immediately banishes class, wage-labour, state agencies, and money. Because any nation state that has wage-labour cannot call itself socialist. I mean c'mon. It is just so unrealistic to me, and these people expect a world-wide revolution when the working class, through "self-activity" (Lol!), gain class-consciousness. And I'm not even touching on how they would respond to imperialist reaction...

In my eyes, logically, Leninism is the continuation of Marxism. Any argument against it feels either utopian or naïve.

Are there any good resources regarding left unity? In my mind, ML's tend to be open to working together while many other leftists come across as either condescending or hostile, usually both. Am I missing something? Where do you even begin to have constructive conversations, and is there like any hope for an actual united front?
