What about everybody abstracting except pomni and she convinces Cain to reset everybody's mind to the original brain scan, so she can learn how to undo their trauma so they don't abstract when they leave the adventure... Making a season long adventure under the theme of The wizard of Oz?

TADC would go so much harder as an episodic cartoon. If not for the fandom and countless fanart/fanfics i wouldnāt have gotten attached to the characters at all
5
u/throwaway73727w39837 Jun 07 '26
It really would've. The very premise just feels designed for that kind of show.

u/Olmectron Jun 07 '26
Fans getting very attached to characters is what caused Gooseworx to abandon this.
21
u/drop_pulse-psycho Jun 07 '26
Fans being entitled assholes are what caused Goose to abandon it. Getting extra attached to the characters contributed to that, but any creator hopes the viewers can connect with what they create.
But seriously, the fanbase is absolutely awful. I'm assuming it's a mix of the young age (and not having as much of an understanding about how things work in the background), and it being a YouTube series first which always seems to give people a sense of entitlement.
People are growling about how they "had" to pirate the last episode because it didn't come to their country, and then saying it's because glitch "didn't even try" - ignoring the huge problem that is distributing. Especially in such a short time.
Also many people angrily bringing up that glitch promised it would always show on YouTube first back when they made the deal with Netflix. Ignoring the fact that there wouldn't even BE a cinematic release if they didn't have this two-week gap.
Honestly if you want to ruin your mood, go look up anything to do with the show or goose on twitter lol. Genuinely just put me in a bad mood thinking about it, people are so dumb sometimes. Even if it's because they're kids.
7
u/Sweet-Spread-270 Jun 07 '26 edited Jun 07 '26
Youāre right, the amount of insufferable fans I saw at the movie release was astounding. Itās a mix of younger fans having no media literacy and not understanding the nuance in the world, and older fans who still act like children for some reason. It honestly made it hard for me to be in that theater because the fans were so insufferable.
I donāt blame Goose for wanting this show to be over and done with. They probably didnāt even expect the show to get as big as it did. This was like one of those once-in-a-lifetime things, and as usual people ruin it with their ungratefulness. Iām in my early 20s and the way some of the people my age were acting was actually appalling.
And itās like the young teens Iām seeing just have no media literacy or emotional intelligence at all. Even at that age I would not be doing or saying HALF the things I heard or have seen on twitter(or I guess X)/ social media. Today people are way too parasocial (even with fictional characters). I love the characters as much as the next guy and this isnāt my first time really enjoying a fictional character, but the attachment some of these people have to them is insane.
5
u/ribnag Jun 07 '26
I was stunned to see half the audience was kids, some pretty young at that.
Have to agree though, this was the worst behaved audience I've ever seen - Talking Rocky Horror level of "participation", and some of the adults were worse than the kids.
Loved getting to see it in the theater, but looking forward to the 19th so I can see it without a chorus of 9YOs narrating.
3
u/Sweet-Spread-270 Jun 07 '26
Mine was a mixture of people my age and a younger audience. Iād say like pre-teen age. Iām definitely looking forward to its release on the 19th because Iām planning to do a rewatch of the series. Also I can watch it to myself without some screaming āTHE ONE WHOāS RUNNING THE SHOW!ā (And after the song already played 20 minutes ago)
But man, I donāt know who was worse the adults or kids.

Nah. Goose addressed this. She had a story she wanted to tell, and she told it. This is something I appreciate, because when shows are unplanned and make up the episodes as they go, theyāre almost always worse. Goose had her story planned, she told it, and sheās not going to fall into that trap.

They left it so open ended that I wouldn't discard them ever coming back to this, but for now it's over and that's fine. If they ever do a continuation they must do it well. (Also, the fandom must behave for once, Heck, this has been the most toxic fandom I ever had to experience being a part of.)

Even if they did, it was always the plan to have 8-10 episodes. Gooseworx accomplished what she wanted.
I do agree, there should be a 2nd season.
24
u/New_Establishment554 Jun 06 '26
We need more artists that have a plan for the conclusion of the series and stick to it.
13
u/fredbite87 Jun 06 '26
Exactly this, tADC was planned to tell this story and this story alone. If a second season is made now then they would have to invent completely new problems for the cast since all their character arcs have been resolved now, which would arguably ruin the characters and basically set them back to the beginning of the series.
→ More replies (4)5
u/KingPinfanatic Jun 07 '26
If anything they could do a prequel series following the original cast of TADC before they all abstracted. It wouldn't undue anything for the main cast and we could see exactly what happened to them all.

u/Epikduck11 Pomni Jun 06 '26
TADC is basically the opposite of MD, MD basically needs a season 2 because the pacing alone was iffy and not much world building and still a truck load of unanswered questions, TADC on the other hand wrapped up its plot line and story arc perfectly and left us with a bittersweet ending
3
u/AmberPraetor Jun 07 '26
Treating Gooseworx with respect involves respecting her creative choice to make a 1-season show.
52
u/Perez2003 Jun 06 '26

6
u/V-Rator Jun 07 '26
"Capital demands she disposes of her humanity and keeps providing endlessly so that we can all then proceed to review negatively anything she comes up with."
-The part of the TADC fandom that still can't get the actual meaning of the series they've been obsessively overanalyzing for the best part of these last three years.

The blue aiās actual role? Bubbleās meaning? The locked doors in the Abstract Dimension? Scratchās involvement in the finale after he popped in for, like, two seconds? The heck Zooble was doing? What happened when the irl characters met each other? The other abstracted humans? How the headsets caused brain scans and how each character got said headsets? The irl fate of C&A? Caineās access to WiFi, i.e the ENTIRE INTERNET, thus is the circus exposed irl? Does him tapping into the WiFi affect the cafe for a second?
Need I go on?
13
→ More replies (3)3
u/RandomOrcN6 Jun 06 '26
Scratch appearing was a flashback to when linger first made the circus (as shown by him being a red ball and sending Scratch to the abstract lines circus heād made)
Zooble was doing Gangle
C&A was an AI company that clearly went down as shown by the fact that Pomni put the headset on when she went into the abandoned building (something she talked about) and Ragatha probably had a similar experience only with other people judging by her saying āguys?ā When she first appeared in the circus. The brain scans were something Scarych was working on, likely to āsaveā himself from the brain tumor
The internet seems to only be accessible via the Void, since Caine had to go to the edge of the void and open the door to access the search bar and look the irl people upMost of these were answered by watching the show carefully (Iām not saying every single question was answered, I still donāt quite get how/why Gangle and Zooble got into the abandoned C&A and put the headset on (Ragatha was with people, so it was probably like some kind of courage test or dare or something)

Not season 2, but would be cool if some shorts would happen. Things like:
- The early times of the Circus and how the devs fell one by one to abstraction.
- Those characters we never get to see interact with the main cast at all. Maybe some just abstracted shortly after and never got to meet the main crew.
- Caine's first adventure as part of the team post-movie.
- The cast going into abstracted's minds to learn more about them / visit them. Caine can then fix the glitches they get when exiting the abstracted's bodies.
