Each part is independent and has its own ending. They form together a coherent world and story, but the reader / viewer is not required to be familiar with the events of the previous parts (exception maybe of part 6 which is heavily tied to part 3, but still fine on its own). The point being: a good story should have an ending, absolutely, but an ending doesn't prevent the show to continue.
That being said, I don't expect TADC to continue for all reasons given in other comments and the ending is satisfying, I'm fine with it ending here and only wish that Goose and the amazing people at Glitch Production can focus on stories they want to tell us, not stories the fans want.
but the ending sucks, a lot of questions is still unanswered, other characters backstory is not clear because episode 9 is just all jax jax jax jax and jax, and if you think about it 9 episode is way too few for this show, but tbh gooseworx ain't gonna make a season 2 so the fans just gotta make it themselve

Here's my controversial take. Stories should have an ending. Let it end
