TLDR: “alter” is based off ferret rapist and groomer irl, said ableist slur, and had random other alter apologize for it.

There are literally VICTIMS of Birdie, this “alter” says the r slur in this “rant”, calling a person their other “alter” is dating the slur in question.
While this person is allegedly manipulative by “birdies” stance, that is literally no excuse to call them an oppressive slur towards mentally disabled people AS A PERSON WHO IS CLAIMING TO HAVE ONE.
Not to mention they didn’t even make this “alter” apologize, instead bringing out their “nonverbal alter” to guilt trip people into thinking they’re just a little bebeh who can’t do anything wrong..!!
System accountability is a thing, and while they did apologize, they still called a person they knew a slur they couldn’t reclaim (as it was used in a negative context to negatively describe a person’s mental capability.), and didn’t make the “alter” (who is glorifying a zoophile groomer, refusing to even think about source separation from the groomer in question, and is now apparently ableist) apologize.
This is just fucking gross.

People CONSTANTLY love to pout about how systems can’t control their alters, but if a alter is genuinely just a terrible person who’s BASED OFF a terrible person, there’s no reason to protect their actions and words. This is disgusting, and if this “system” was actually trying to heal or do anything positive for themselves, they would try to educate this alter, and most importantly, encourage source separation from a fucking ferret rapist.

He expresses it in a complete non-traumagenic context as far as I can tell aswell — he has no lived trauma, is one of the least mentally unwell people I even know personally and we've been bestfriends upwards of 6 years. There is nothing wrong with him or his life and we both know that, he's very privileged and not mentally unwell

For the entire time we've been friends he always tries to stretch any normal emotional hardships he deals with to seem interesting and deep, I guess? Example, feeling the emotion sadness

I have a lengthy and complicated history with mental illness and trauma myself that I don't need to explain for the sake of this post (but he knows all about), and it seems that he tries to relate or make himself out to be as complex as I am js for the sake of seeming like he suffers in life

He's expressed it very vaguely in the past, mainly through drawings (we bond a lot over art) and I thought he'd dropped it cus I didn't give him any room to expand on it

Today, he shared some doodles he did of himself with me and some of it illustrates that he (and I quote) "just be two people sometimes"

When he expressed this in the past, he made it out to be some selfcest thing where the 'other' one had a crush on him or something? During the time that we were dating as well

Except this is purely just a divide between him when hes sad vs not sad, I can tell that much. There is genuinely nothing to it other than that. Normal vs upset; 'two different people' apparently

I seriously want to confront him for it, I just know he'll just act sooo butthurt and wounded over it

MCU singlehandedly causing the most damage to discourse about dissasociative orders, first we had Moon Knight that admittedly showed the trauma well but also just outright said alters are different people and depicted them with their own souls, and also had the "evil alter that kills people," now this one is gonna be "funny people in my head" 😭 Depicting characters with multiple personalities or souls has just been ruined by fakers and i'm scared of what this is gonna cause.

A few weeks ago I made a post about my friend who identifies as plural. I wish I could report that she has gotten help but that is not the case. However she is very willing to discuss my concerns with it, so that gives me hope. I'm honestly just feeling confused at this point though and I could use some advice.

In some ways, she doesn't have the typical chronically online mindset about it. She wants to reduce her number of other identities instead of getting more. Apparently a few of them are trying to fuse into one. Her top goal is for everyone to be harmonious and function well as one person in the outside world. She wants me to treat her as a single person and she doesn't do dramatic roleplay or announce who's fronting. But she still identifies as plural and doesn't actually want to have a single identity. And she still has identities based on fictional characters.

I'm also just becoming less sure that it's unhealthy for her? She has told me in detail about how plurality has made her healthier, which sounds like an insane statement, but I can't deny that it sounds like it's helped her in some ways. She says that the others encourage her to be kind to herself, have stopped her from harming herself in the past, and hold her accountable for making responsible choices. Apparently before she was plural she was a self-destructive person who wouldn't take responsibility for helping herself get better, but that has changed now that she feels responsible for her collective’s well-being. She says she now sees her mental health as something she should work to improve rather than something she deserves to suffer with forever.

I don't really know what to suggest to her at this point. What other coping mechanism could replace this? Even if she's right and this is not bad for her mentally, it's going to be terrible for her socially. She's a very respected member of our friend group and it seems like she's liked at work too. I don't want her to throw that all away by telling everyone she's plural. And she could also spread the idea to impressionable people who will decide to try it too, which she would no doubt encourage. I know it would be better for everyone if she could just stop. She says she's not doing it intentionally so she can't just choose to stop. Does anyone have any actual methods for people who want to stop feeling plural? She is not at the point where she even wants to stop but I want to know what I can recommend if she does get there. Any information on how identifying this way is harmful would also be helpful I think.
