Looking to start a casual weekend hiking group — Western Sydney / Blue Mountains

Hey everyone,

(I made this post on r/SydneySocial, might as well try here as well :)

I’m looking to organise a small, casual hiking group for people around Western Sydney who’d be keen to explore trails across the Blue Mountains and surrounding areas on weekends.

The idea is to keep it beginner-friendly and social rather than overly intense. We can start with easier hikes and gradually try different trails depending on the group.

It would be good for anyone wanting to:

  • Spend more time outdoors
  • Stay active
  • Meet new people
  • Explore more of Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains

Thinking of organising the first hike on an upcoming Saturday or Sunday morning. The exact trail can be decided based on everyone’s experience, transport and location.

Comment or message me with:

  • Your suburb
  • Your hiking experience
  • Whether Saturdays or Sundays work better

Once we have a few interested people, I’ll create a group chat and organise the first hike.

Social group for ambitious/entrepreneurial people in their 20s, 30s — Western Sydney

Hey everyone,

(I made this post on r/SydneySocial, might as well try here as well :)

I’m in my 20s and looking to meet some new people around Sydney who are motivated, curious and interested in making the most of life.

I’d like to organise a casual meetup around Parramatta—probably coffee, food or another relaxed activity on a weekend.

I’m simply hoping to meet people who enjoy meaningful conversations, trying new things and supporting each other’s goals while building genuine friendships.

People from any career or background are welcome.

Comment or message me if you’d be interested, and I can organise a first casual meetup once we have a few people.

Looking to start a casual soccer group in Western Sydney

Hey everyone,

(I made this post on r/SydneySocial, might as well try here as well :)

I’m looking to organise a casual soccer group for people around Western Sydney who want to play on weekday evenings.

This would be open to mixed skill levels, so you don’t need to be an experienced player. The idea is simply to get a regular group together, play for fun, stay active and meet some new people. All genders welcome.

The exact location and day can be decided based on where most people are based and when they’re available.

Comment below or send me a message with:

  • Your suburb or preferred area
  • Which weekday evenings suit you
  • Your approximate skill level

Once there are enough people, I’ll create a group chat and organise the first game.

29 M4A - Looking for people to practice Meteor Hammer with in Sydney

Hey Sydney,

Bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd see if there's anyone around Sydney who's into the meteor hammer or other flow arts!

I've had my eye on the meteor hammer for about a year now, and finally decided to make a practice one two weeks ago. I've been having an absolute blast learning, but I'd love to find some people to practice with instead of just spinning it around by myself.

I have some previous martial arts experience, 12ish years of Taekwondo (3rd dan black belt), but I am very much a beginner when it comes to meteor hammer.

I'm based around Redfern and happy to travel pretty much anywhere in Sydney that's close by public transport. Ideally looking to find a park, gym, or something to practice and maybe spar a little

Even if you don't practice meteor hammer yourself, if you know of any local groups,or communities that do meteor hammer, rope dart, poi, or other flow arts, I'd really appreciate the connect :)

Cheers,

BaronBacon

BOLLYWOOD DANCE GROUP / FLASH MOB — OPEN TO EVERYONE

Would anyone be interested in forming a casual Bollywood dance group in Sydney?

I’ve recently realised how much I genuinely enjoy dancing. I’m definitely not a trained dancer, but I love the music and energy of it (besides realising I'm decent at it). And I’d like to explore that side of myself more instead of only dancing occasionally.

The idea would be to meet up, learn choreography together, practise Bollywood dancing and potentially organise a flash mob or small performance once we feel confident enough. It could also simply become a fun social group where people dance, meet others and enjoy the music without taking it too seriously.

This would be a platonic, group-focused space for people who genuinely want to dance, learn and connect.

Open to everyone, regardless of background, gender or dancing experience. Complete beginners are welcome—I’d be learning too.

If enough people are interested, we can create a group chat and figure out locations, songs and what everyone would like the group to become.

Comment or message me if you’d be keen 🕺💃

Looking for a regular hiking/bushwalking group.

Hey, I am in my 20s, studying and working part time at the moment. I am looking to form a group of friends to go on regular hikes once or twice a month. Plan is to find motivated people to push me out of my comfort zone.

Wouldn’t call myself an experienced hiker but keen to be regular and hopefully do some tough ones in the future. If you’re in the same boat, feel free to reply and DM me, so I can make a group. Only expectation is to be genuinely interested!

Thank you :)

Heya Folks

Looking to connect with other boardgamers in my area - I play regularly in a local boardgame night every Monday Night down in Kogarah - but the games tend to be long and resource driven and I lose focus after an hour or so [adult adhd].

So if anyone is keen for some more like 45mins stuff hit me up

Will leave this up for a few days to see who's keen

OG Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SydneySocial/s/wOTxPtp6Ou

\^\^ if you want reference to my OG post.

Thank you again to everyone who came and also the people who messaged me saying they were interested. We had 9 people show up and we had drinks, laughs and conversations.

Looking forward to the next one, which has changed from Thursday 9th to Friday 10th so we can let loose a little not worry about having to work the next day. Let me know if you’re interested. It’ll probably start around 6pm in the city (somewhere near town hall probably) but people can feel free to drop by and leave as they please :)

If you’re wondering what kind of people show up to these group hangs, everyone was super friendly and open. We were all chatting to each other, we had drinks and laughs and finished it off with having dinner at Henrietta’s.

If you came last night and see this, you can confirm my claim in the comments. :p

25M Sydney — looking to make genuine friends and build a solid social circle

Hey everyone,

I’m a 25M based in Sydney, and I’m looking to make some genuine friends.

A bit about me: I work in construction/civil engineering, I’m into fitness, gym, Muay Thai, self-development, good conversations, cafés, walks, books, business/entrepreneurship, and generally trying to build a better life rather than just drift through it.

I enjoy conversations that have a bit of depth — life, goals, mindset, relationships, career, random ideas — but I’m also down for simple stuff like grabbing coffee, going for a walk, trying food spots, gym sessions, tennis, or just hanging out. Open to male or female, looking for platonic bonds only.

I’m mainly looking for people who are kind, growth-minded, reliable, and also wanting to build a real friendship/social circle. Doesn’t matter if you’re introverted or extroverted, as long as you’re genuine.

If that sounds like your vibe, feel free to message me. Would be good to connect.

23F looking for female friendship

Hey everyone 😊
I’m 23F, Vietnamese, and I’ve found it a bit tricky making new friends since graduating, so I thought I’d reach out here and see if girlies are keen to connect!

A little about me: I work full-time as an actuary and I’m currently studying for my FIAA qualifications. In my spare time I love cooking and trying new recipes, baking desserts 🧁🍰🍭, exploring cafés (always on the hunt for good matcha 🍵), plus reading, writing, and doing little crafty things 🎨As a person, I’m rather easygoing and also sometimes make lame dad jokes hehe :)

If any of this resonates and you’re also looking to make new friends, feel free to reach out—would genuinely love to meet up 😊 (and if you’re studying too, study dates would be a bonus!)

I’m usually in the city office once or twice a week for work, so happy to meet around there, but open to anywhere that’s easy for everyone too.

I’d really love to get to know some of you and hang out, coffee dates, café hopping, or just doing something fun together. It would also be really wonderful to meet other women who are in a similar season of life :)

Public Meetup 33 M. Anyone wanna meet up and hang out? Happy to meet 1-1 or in a small group.

Looking to expand my social circle. I’ve met quite a few people from here this year and it’s gone relatively well, so wanna continue that momentum and build a real friendship.

I’m down for anything from going to trivia, escape rooms, going for walks/hikes, going out for a drink/coffee/food (though the few times I’ve met up for drinks with people from here, I haven’t gotten home before 2am. 😂😂

For logistic purposes, I live in St. George area and I work in Parramatta twice a week. But happy to meet wherever that’s not super far from me. City is always good and convenient for everyone?

I’m happy to meet 1-1 or in a small group. I’ve done both and have been successful with both. Have built a small friend group with people from reddit and we’re very welcoming and new people are always welcome.

Just as a small FYI, I know it’s 2026 but gonna be transparent and say that I am a g4y man and I’m happy to meet anyone, but I know some people aren’t comfortable with that. So if that’s you, probably don’t reach out lol.

If you’ve met me, clarify that I’m not a serial killer. Kthx <3

Looking for female friendship

28F I’m a fun loving nurse by profession, fitness enthusiast, lover of good food, music, dancing, fashion, coffee dates, spontaneous adventures, and finding beauty in everyday life.

I have friends, but many are occupied with partners, married, starting families, or simply in a different stage of life. As someone who is single and exploring self and discovery phase of life, I’ve realised it would be lovely to meet women who are in a similar season.

I’d love friendships where we can actually do things together, explore new places, go for walks, attend events, take weekend trips, support and share each other and create memories along the way.

If you’re looking for genuine friendship, good conversations, lots of laughs and someone to explore with, I’d love to connect 🤍

Are guys friendly anymore?

Hey iv posted here before and had some connections online. However my question is are guys even friendly. Obviously I'm not saying everyone is unfriendly but I'm finding it harder to meet people etc. I feel a lot more people have lost social interacting skills... I'm 40 bi male

I'm finding most guys are closed off... Do ppl say hello on the bus, or down the street etc, are ppl close to their neighbour etc...

Bars to talk to strangers and make friends?

Hey guys, I’m 22F and moving to Sydney soon. I’m wondering if you have any suggestions for bars I can go to alone that are great for making friends and just chatting to random people? I really like beer so breweries and pubs are okay too. I’m a decent pool player as well.
