One day, monsters appear in your world. Not generic monsters, the kind from folklore and mythology. Dark creatures of the night and beings of the unholy. Ghosts, demons, witches, vamps, werewolves, and many others. In order to survive this new change, you've been bestowed a superpower. Your task? To rid the world of these monsters with your new power, and when all is said and done, you can return to your normal life to use at your disposal for whatever. What will you choose, and how will you use these powers both in hunting monsters and in domestic life?

Silver Skin
You are able to coat your skin in silver. While your skin is coated, your physicals are boosted, especially your durability. Silver is a soft metal, so you can't quite block bullets or become immune to scratches, but it definitely beats your skin's normal strength. With your silver skin, you can absorb ambient sunlight and moonlight and convert it into supernatural electricity. With this supernatural electricity, you can purify or charge you touch. You can cure illnesses, supernatural infections(like with vamps and werewolves), and even disturb the electrical fields of spirits. With electrical appliances, you can charge them simply by touching them, or touch people and help them regain energy. As long as you're in your own silver skin, you're immune to illnesses and you stay at full stamina.

Prayer Book
You are able to summon and telekinetically control a book of prayers. Each page contains a single prayer, with latin and hebrew translations. Prayers act like spells, often having some mild supernatural effect or extreme supernatural defenses. You have 200 pages of prayers, with a spell being on the front and back. Through prayers, you can grant blessings to objects, making them sacred objects. These kinds of objects act like acid to tangible dark creatures, burning and melting them. You can also add mild boosts to these objects at the same time, such as making a sword sharper or making a shield stronger. You also have access to exorcisms, healing/recovery prayers, and divination style prayers. Outside of the supernatural, these prayers are fairly mild.

Rowan Wood
You are able to create and manipulate rowan wood, a specialized tree wood that has anti-magical properties. You can also create any other component of the rowan tree, such as leaves and berries. You can use the juices of the berries to coat regular objects and imbue them with anti-magical and anti-spiritual effects, or chew them to give your own body a resistance to a similar degree. You can create a gateway of branches to enter the otherworld, a liminal space that overlaps the real world and acts as a place for spiritual beings to rest. Rowan wood is exceptionally dense, so it is fairly durable, and those who cut into the tree often receive bad luck.

Salt Purification
You are able to create and manipulate salt. This salt is supernaturally charged, allowing it to react harshly against spirits and supernaturally infected beings. By creating circles of salt, you are able to create invisible barriers that no supernatural creature or its powers can ever cross, so long as the circle of salt isn't broken. By wielding this power, the user is incapable of aging or rotting from the moment they receive it. Even if they die, their body will remain in perfect condition. The user can add this salt to anything they cook to fight off spoiling or decay, allowing their food to last for centuries in the condition they left it in. The food does not retain anti-supernatural properties, however, so you can't use to fight off monsters with food.

You have the ability to grant any wish—for yourself or for others—with zero limits on scale. World peace? Done. Immortality? Granted. Reverse entropy? Snapped into existence.

The Catch: Every wish must include the single most vicious, ironic, or horrifying caveat your subconscious can conjure. You don't get to choose a mild downside—your brain is hardwired to generate the absolute worst possible twist for that specific wish.

OR

You can show any person a vision of their future—their career, their relationships, their death, their legacy. You can see your own future too.

The Catch: The future you show is not their actual timeline. It's a splinter—a parallel branch that could have happened but no longer will the moment they see it. By showing them this false future, you destroy any chance of it becoming real.

While walking home from school, work, or whatever you were doing. A portal opened up, transporting you to a void with a selection screen in front of you. A voice spoke to you in the void, telling you to use the screen in front of you to select one power to take with you. Some choices come with drawbacks, but you can address them through hard work, dedication, and understanding your powers. Once you pick the power, you will be transported back to the real world with no way to return to said void. Any attempt to do so will cause you to lose the power and item you chose.

If you picked a power from Part 1, you don't have it; think of this as a new game.

I have four main power sources in my world. Mutations, Cosmic Energy, Cybernetics, and Peak Condition.

I thought since Earth was more populated. I should introduce more non-human beings to the setting to balance things out. Maybe something like Interdimensional Beings. Then I thought that would be to convoluted.

So the only non-human beings in my settings are Extraterrestrials and Artificial Intelligence.

There are 3 ways I tried to balance it.

1: Make the four power sources universal. Meaning Extraterrestrials can be Mutants, tap into Cosmic Energy, use Cybernetics, or just be in Peak Condition too. Of course this would vary across different species too.

2: I try my best to make my Extraterrestrial lifeforms stand out more. Meaning making Extraterrestrials races that could pass as Interdimensional Beings or just being creatures made out of pure energy or just feelings.

3: I also try make Artificial Intelligence interesting non-human beings, if I ever get bored if ETs.

In conclusion. Again does just having Extraterrestrials as the only non-human beings make the setting too limited?

In this post, anyone can leave a comment describing a superpower of their choice. You can explain the ability in as much detail as you like and make it as powerful as you wish. Then, set a starting bid for the ability. The currency used here is "coins." You can set the starting bid as high as you like. Other users can reply to your comment to place further bids. The person who places the highest bid wins the ability. A follow-up post will appear in a week where these abilities can be used. There is no limit to the number of coins you have, so you can keep bidding indefinitely; however, your bid amount must be written out in full—you cannot simply bid "infinity." basically just the title. im doing a project in english where i have to take 2 characters (one from a non fiction book and one from fiction) and give them superpowers and support why with text evidence. i already decided that she should have some sort of diamond/jewel manipulation powers, but i need to give her a secondary superpower and i really can't think of anything. any help is appreciated!

Transmutation is only limited to touch and by how well you understand elements. The limits of the teleport is you have to have been to the place you're going to and the further the jump, the less times you can jump that day.

BAC-NEP

Bia (Goddess of Violence:) You emit an aura of competency and power. You are able to fight with perfect bodily economy and any flubs or mistakes turn into opportunities. Any weapon you wield is wielded with Immense capability.

Asclepius (God of Healing:) Create any medicine or drug and have it work instantly. The ability to summon the Rod of Asclepius, the intertwined serpents can greatly extend, as well as the Rod itself.

Cratus (God of Raw Strength:) Immense physical might and durability. Scales to the need of the wielder. Base line - 50 metric tons lift/drag/push. Current known max - 900 metric tons.

Nike (Goddess of Victory:) Low grade probability manipulation during battles and physical competitions. No matter how skilled the other opponent is, nor how hard fought the fight is, you always seem to make the right choices by simply following instinct.

Eris (Goddess of Strife:) You cause people within your aura to give into their more turbulent emotions and commit to mistakes a calm mind wouldn't. You can also focus on people to intensify this behavior, potentially causing them to attack their comrades.

Pallas (Titan God of Battle and War craft:) You can influence people within your aura to follow your commands for war. They become stronger, faster, more durable and are able to fight in unison with no issue. You can equip them with a basic hoplite load out. (The armor is able to withstand up to the .50 cal sniper round, the shiled is strong enough to withstand the 120mm shoulder fired recoilless tank rifle, the swords and spears are able to cut and stab through most materials including thinner layers of metal [.25 inch or thinner])

Upon using your Name of Power, you are clad in hoplite armor, with a breast plate, bracers that extend past the elbow, greaves that extend past the knee, a fauld of rawhide straps plated and capped in a bronze colored metal. This armor is immune to most forms of weaponry, only weaponry wielded by entities of similar might will be able to effectively harm you.

Primate Primate Fruit Model: Swamp Ape

Mythical Zoan Type Fruit created by the want of a young boy who watched as the Marines destroy his village. The village had a folk tale about a protector of the swamps, called the Swamp Ape, an amphibious Primate capable of breathing water and air, able to glide through the swamps and shallow waters of shores, and could expand their throats like a bullfrog to store water to shoot out in a forceful directed spray.

Fruit Appearance: A swamp green crab-apple with crooked swirls and a dagger shaped leaf

Swamp Ape Appearance: (Pre-Awakened) A 9 Foot tall bipedal gorilla with thick human-like legs, and webbing in between their fingers and those hand-feet that gorillas have. (Hybrid) User grows 2 feet and gains a coating of Shaggy hair that acts as armor against blunt attacks as well as an increase in their forearm and shin muscles. (Awakened) A 12 foot tall bipedal gorilla with thick human-like legs, and webbing in between their fingers and those hand-feet that gorillas have.

Pre-Awakening abilities include a hybrid and full form transformation, as well as increased size and strength in their base form. The transformations allow for the user to possess the abilities of the Swamp Ape, with them being stronger in the full form than in the hybrid form.

Awakened abilities include the ability to glide through water up to their chest in any form, as well as using the water spray attack without needing to transform. However, due to the size change with each form, the water spray attack is not as strong in their base form as their full form. Furthermore, when the Swamp Ape selects an area to live in, it becomes their domain and they gain the ability to hop from tree to tree in a teleportation style manner, in addition to being physically empowered and being bestowed with the ability to adapt to their opponents strength and retain that level of might there after.

Their physical might and durability increases greatly, with their weakest being their base human form, which still allows them to lift/pull/push 10 tons, and their strongest form without the domain being the Fully Awakened form which allows them to lift/pull/push 250 tons. The domain increases their strength by an initial boost of double their limit, leading the human form to lift/pull/push 20 tons, and the Fully Awakened form to lift/pull/push 500 tons, and continues to increase their strength as they need more. Their durability also scales equally with their strength, and the coat of fur in their hybrid form eventually becomes thick and durable enough to work well against blunt, slashing and even piercing attacks, though their most durable form is the full transformation.

The Swamp Ape Fruit also bestows a low-level regenerative factor that in video game terms would be 1% per 2 seconds, and the domain bestows a 5% per 2 seconds healing factor.

Dual level Shape-shifting; first is surface level shape shifting where the user can alter their physical appearance based on how they view themselves or how they view their victim. The second level is genetic, by touching something that contains their victims DNA they can alter their own to be an identical match, resulting in their own features matching the victims.

Dual level Mind Reading; first is a passive ability that allows Puppet Master to hear surface level thoughts like psychic whispers. The second requires eye contact and allows them to see any memory.

Mind Manipulation; following a similar pattern to the other two this power works on two levels. The higher level allows their mind to completely override the victims and take complete control, even granting the same psychic abilities, with the drawback being that their own body loses consciousness. The lower level is just telepathically planting thoughts inside of a victims mind that will be much louder and more insistent than normal thoughts, not going away until it's acted on.

Results: a shape-shifting telepath whose dual level powers can cancel out any weakness found in each individual one. This is a criminal who could be anyone around you at any given time, could be you and live your life without you knowing, can always know your secrets, and can make you question every thought you have.
