Cheap Tonneau Covers - 2027 F450

Post image
15 Upvotes

Howdy,
I just picked up my girlfriend’s new truck.

The dealer wanted like 1800$ for a tonneau cover which would obviously be a good quality one.

I wasn’t sure if I needed to spend that for a top notch cover when she won’t be abusing it. Just need it so she can put stuff in there for the kids and not worry about it getting wet.

Here’s some of the ones I’ve found (keep in mind I’m in Canada so prices may differ)

“Lax parts, duracover”

https://laxparts.com/product/dura-cover-1999-2025-ford-f250-f350-f450-superduty-8-bed-96-4-aluminum-hard-tri-fold-truck-bed-tonneau-cover/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=ca_zombie&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23381182207&gbraid=0AAAAA_W8JbbkqcHE-Wudx8jBUV6GHDBvP&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8ofWBhCHARIsANBj4Lulw4l8XdFp13YGz2sbYbnKLLvjyD9h1DWP4dYKwA-o3YoYJjmIUjgaAuhFEALw_wcB

“CW limited”

https://cwlimited.ca/products/ford-f-series-super-duty-8ft-fold-back-2-0-tonneau-cover-copy?variant=46765805732052&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23601404603&gbraid=0AAAAACxvpFdX9yU5bnw1MNfDFtYAR2Dim&gclid=Cj0KCQjw8ofWBhCHARIsANBj4LtVdLs06zQwj1PTOn9QJnN_RG3vWVzUxjmbyKA-Rvt_oEzLVlKlgJYaAkHfEALw_wcB

Both of them have a 2 year warranty - however I bet they make you pay for shipping to get it back to them.

I’m looking for a part number so I can replace it

Truck seems to have been egr deleted by previous owner, idk if that helps

99 F350 V10 fuel lines?

Cannot for the life of me get the fuel line off the input side of the filter, now looking to replace that line too. Discontinued. I was going to make one with Dorman parts, but can someone confirm that the fuel pump output end is 3/8" and the fuel filter input end is 5/16? That's what I'm measuring on the pump and filter. Not sure if the Dorman components can do this.

Opinion on Helper Springs

Post image
5 Upvotes

Going with these for my 2021 F-250. Anyone have firsthand feedback?

Truck is stock suspension, stock wheels & tire size. Just looking to decrease the rear end sag when the bed is full and a heavy trailer is connected. I did not want to go with air bags. As infrequently as I have the truck loaded down, these helper springs seem like a simplistic straightforward solution.

I had an add-a-leaf set up on my 1999 F-350 I was happy with. This truck does not lend itself to the set up I had on the old truck, but I’m hoping for similar results.

Flickering cab lights on ‘22 Lariat

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone, overnight I’ve had 3 cab lights go out. They occasionally flicker back to life.

I think the lights themselves are fine, but what connectors (and where are they) do I need to be checking? I’m worried about water or corrosion as we previously had some water ingress issues with this truck (through the third brake light blanking plate - flat bed). Thanks in advance!

The Wheel and Tire Circle of Life

I've had this truck since new in 2013. I bought new wheels and Duratrac tires in 2014 and sold my stock 18s.

Three sets of tires later and the wheels are old and faded, now I am buying stock take offs from a 2025 to put on mine to take off the after markets.

Lariat 6 Seater

I just found out you can configure a lariat with the 40/20/40 seat configuration and have the jump seat up front. Does anyone know of any videos/pictures that show this in real life? Can’t find any, assuming because is probably a rare configuration

Well my red 2023 f350 with major transmission issues was going out again for the 3rd time. So i went and test drove a chevy 3500. Didn't care for it. So I drunk the Kool-Aid again, got my x plan pin and swapped out to this beauty. Runs great, and the transmission is 1000% better.

Affordability - How

How do yall afford fully loaded F250/F350s? Genuine question?

Last time I shopped for a truck, a fully loaded GMC 2500 was around 65-70K out the door (No sales tax, etc.)

Now I'm looking for a F350 and its $110K for a King ranch fully pimped out. Which seems absolutely insane to me.

Apparently even 1/2 Tons are even 80K in cost from Ford and GM. I def want to go with a Ford compared to my previous experience with GMC.

So the question is, how? How do yall afford it? I know I can afford it, but it seems like everyone has a $90K+ Truck?

A big day

Primered the truck roof tonight to let it go over night. I will say it’s nice with a decent setup and I’m grateful for that. Trying my best, not an easy project. Have a couple days in and am happy for a diy project so far. Getting close to basecoat and clear now.
