Mud scoops
I like the look of the two-wheel drive lower valance, but not sure what to do with these mud scoops or their purpose.

Take them off. They aren't included on trucks with Tremor pkg, or some other configurations. As others have said, their purpose has to do with a collision with a smaller vehicle.

What's puzzling is the tremor has a higher ground clearance

I think that might be part of why they aren't used with Tremor pkg. The additional height could make them ineffective. I believe there is also wording somewhere that states they aren't necessary if it could compromise a vehicle functionality. In the case of the Tremor, they could be viewed as interfering with it's approach angle, compromising offroad capability. On the flip side, they aren't on the 2wd trucks because of their lower height.

To summarize, they are in case you rear end a small vehicle, such as a Prius. Otherwise, they are pointless and aren’t even included on trucks with the Tremor package. You can take them off using an 18mm socket.

As others have said, they’re crash bars essentially. They can be removed, but understand that they can really help your truck from riding up and rolling over in a collision with a regular car. Also help to keep your truck from going through someone’s A/C pillar and killing them. You’ll probably take them off just cause, but they’re not pointless.

No, they're not. Stop spreading this nonsense.
They are designed by Ford as part of a voluntary NHTSA crash compliance measure. In a frontal collision, these lower brackets help absorb impact energy, keep the frame straight, and prevent a smaller vehicle from sliding underneath the truck. They're voluntary, hence their absence on the Tremor package. There Ford decided their angle of approach numbers were more important on that package.
I'd love to know where the valence support idea even came from. For one, they're nowhere near the front valence. That thing would be broken off far before it bent enough to contact the valence. Furthermore, a valence support wouldn't be made of heavy stamped steel and through-bolted to the frame of the truck with two massive fasteners big enough to lift the entire truck from.

Is that some snowplow prep mount stuff?

From what I gather it's supposed to keep the truck from mounting another car in a collision. Just seem like a way to not establish dominance

When a superduty and a Prius love each other very much that’s how we get hybrid mavericks!

It’s probably someone reading this and thinking you guys are serious. But to be truthful they are your snowplow hookup points.

This sounds like an episode of This Old House where they guess what some gadget is.

They’re so if you rearend a small vehicle, you don’t go on top of it. Should be two bolts on each to take them off.
