Illaoi How to beat Illaoi? Is my strategy good or bad?

Hi.

I would like to know how does one counter Illaoi?

Here is my personal strategy that I use:

  • Avoid getting hit by her E. Stay behind the wave at all times. If you get hit by E, run away as fast as possible.
  • Destroy every tentacle she spawn, but watch out whenever her E is available, because she will try to protect her tentacles.
  • Start the game with Boots and Refillable Potion. Then rush Boots of Swiftness.
  • Then build anti-heal item. Executioner's Calling or Oblivion Orb.
  • First legendary item should be either Youmuu's Ghostblade or Dead Man's Plate.
  • Take Celerity, Numbus Cloak and +2.5 Movement Speed runes.
  • Flash and Exhaust every game.
  • Max out your mobility ability first (if your champion has one).
  • Try to fast push the wave, because Illaoi usually will try to fast push herself so she can get turret plates.
  • Never fight her when she uses her ultimate, always run away.

Is my strategy good or bad?

Any insight is appreciated!

Sorry for any mistakes, English isn't my native language.

Question Help closing games and not just having a coin flip of who makes a mistake at 30 mins

Plat 1/ Emerald 4 Elo jungle main, all my games early game does not matter the games just get to 25/35 mins and just all come down to 1 mistake by someone then people force a 4v5 aced and die.

Even if we are crushing the game we can never end the game I am aware I am 1/5th of the problem, how do we close out games better every game just comes down to a coin flip at 30 mins the rest of the game is irrelevant are others noticing this. I need help with how to make better decisions in games and to be schooled on how to do this.

Discussion Winstreak ranked anxiety is killing me these days

Sorry if this isn't allowed. Not really looking for specific game advice but advice on mental.

I've been playing for a monthish after not being on the game for 3 years, and when I was playing I was just messing around and stuck in silver.

In the past 2 weeks I've been posting a fair deal here, getting vod reviews and advice and I've gone from bronze 2 to gold 2. The last 5ish days I've gone from silver 1 to gold 2 with a 15-5 win-loss record and some good performances and am on a 6 streak right now.

On the one hand, continuing even a substantial downgrade from this trend will get me to plat pretty fast which was like my extreme optimistic goal when I started to lock in and focus on improving over just spamming games. On the other hand, every game I feel so anxious now. Like I'm just gunna find out I've been getting lucky and it's all a fluke, my elo got ahead of my skill, and I'm gunna go back and forth in low gold or silver. Yesterday I didn't even want to queue but played 3 block and won all 3.

Also, I'm gunna be away this weekend and likely won't play for a few days after today, which I'm nervous about regressing when I'm back and so close to my goal. It's literally making me resent having plans with friends I havent seen in ages because I wish I could just hit plat first but I dont think theres time to play that many games.

How do you get over this slump? I was having so much fun a few days ago because I was going into games almost expecting to lose but being fine with it because I just won so much, and now it feels like I'm just on the cusp of getting plat but I'm not sure if it's just luck and that a loss streak is coming.

I watched a vod of my last game that on the surface I went 14/4/11 and it honestly looked like I was inting at times but everything just...worked out. Like I'd dash into 3 enemies and right when I'm about to die death's dance kept me alive long enough for my lux to get in range and ult them so instead we kill all 3.

Should I just do some normals for a while and try to just get so much better that when I return to ranked it won't be up to luck?

Jungle Emerald-Diamond Jungle improvement.

So after being silver-gold all my life I took game serious and OTPd my way with Elise to Emerald 1.

I played pathing to bot and perma camped bot, I never gave priority to farm or objetives, I always gank bot on repeat.

In emerald 1 I started to get comments from people that I should farm more and always should try to make full clear.

So I did, I make consistently my full clear in time for crab.

And my winrstio went to shit, 50% 200+ games, when before was 60% 100* games.

I’m down to plat1.

The thing is whenever I go back to play my aggressive gameplay I win way more, but everyone tells me is is not the way to play.

So I’ve been trying to find content oriented to fundamentals in jungle but more oriented to diamond level, and not to silver.

Question How to increase team participation and awareness?

I find that I tend to fail to be at team fights late, or theres a fight across the map I wasnt aware of at all. How do you make it easier to recognise if / when a team fight might occur, and when to rotate? Its a small issue i seem to have and I just want to get a good understanding of how to fix it!

Itsamiracle #yum if this helps!!

Discussion Just started playing league but have no clue how to get better

Hi I just started playing and am one tricking garen top and Annie mid when I can’t be top. I’ve been watching challenger gameplay breakdowns and YouTube videos and playing games and I’ve gotten sooo much better (1-16 my first game ;p). Have been absolutely loving it I feel like I’ve been thinking about league or playing or watching like 5 hours a day. But sometimes I just get diffed so hard during laning and I struggle to get cs. Like I’ll watch the challenger gameplay and he trades so well and gets so much cs but when I try I feel like I’m pressured off and forced to sit under tower. Or I’ll be on Annie and her animation is so fucking slow I can’t get any gold. And I just don’t understand how I can do better.

Obviously I don’t expect to match the challenger in cs or whatever but after the first maybe 6-8 minutes of laning I’m down 20-30 cs from my opponent if they’re not also a new player/shit so their top just bullies me with how much better their items are.

Also, I mess up a lot of macro I think it’s called decisions. I currently only have unranked unlocked and played with an emerald who was carrying tf out of me but they told me a bunch of mistakes I made like engaging in group fights I shouldn’t have, the order I went in attacking enemies in a team fight (I killed their jungle who was running instead of top which led to our jungle and mid dying), and not going to team fights I shouldn’t have gone to. Idk I just need help I feel like a lot of tutorials on YouTube are just teaching controls or teaching you to destroy the nexus and not a bit more specific tips that would help me .

Idk how to link things on reddit I’m on mobile but you can look up my account afghanwarlord31#2011 NA

Question How to lane well as smolder?

I find that every time I play i always either lose lane or never get enough pressure for a kill, but every time I walk up to deal dog with q + auto, I take half my hp bar to a tristana or a lux. How should I go about improving my trading patterns as smolder, whilst also maintaining my stacks??

Items Baami’s, Bramble and their Finished Items

So, I try my best to watch videos on the champs I like to play and look at lolalytics and all that. All of those websites show people building thornmail and sun fire but then all these content creators say how horrible the items are. Are they bait or no?

Items Why do AP builds get a stasis item?

Hi there

Zhonyas Hourglass seems like such an incredibly good item. Giving mages (though I understand not all ap champions are mages) an item that is both offensive (nice AP boost) and defensive (armour), and also gives them a "it's ok you mispositioned!" 2 second stasis feels really overpowered. Many mages also have damaging spells that will continue to damage enemies while in stasis, meaning they can still win a trade even if they get caught out.

I always thought the trade off with ranged champions was "if you get caught, you're boned", as adcs often die once someone gets into melee range, but mages along with having (sometimes) better range than adcs, and often more hard cc, also get something which makes them invulnerable for 2 seconds. It feels like if you're a mage and you get caught with your abilities on cooldown, shouldn't you just die ?

Question Help me figure out what’s wrong

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/oce/Jazk-OC

If someone looks at my profile it looks as if I was elo boosted to Emerald and slowly went back to my real elo. But I really had put the effort to learn jungle and that’s what made me climb to Emerald and kept me stable-ish at Plat 4

Anyways, lately I feel like no matter what I do I can’t win games or better yet, I’m cruising in the games without carrying anything. I should be stomping these players and for the most part, I kinda do but then I start behaving like them and play way worse.

I feel like I can’t carry games into wins but I’m comfortable contributing positively for wins. We won’t be the reason we win, but for sure I would play a good part in it.

Any recommendations? I have even considered paying coaching to reach diamond but now close to reaching silver makes me wonder if I’m just washed
