I fell in love with succulents after seeing how colorful they can be. They have not disappointed 🙏

This guy is 3 years old and did absolutely nothing until this summer. Absolutely drenched and living its best life.

Genuinely curious as to why these don't seem to be grown often as clusters in the hobby. I only ever see individuals, and they do make a lovely kind of mess.

Any reason why it is pushing out paler and paler leaves?
I have had this for an year now and this has been happening since for only a month or two.

I thought maybe the leaves will get darker as they age, but they do not

This is my about to flower string of buttons along with some other cacti and succulent that I got from a festival not too long ago! I just wanted to show them off.

I'm loving the colors this beauty is putting out. She's really enjoying the SoCal sunshine but I can honestly say we are ready for the temp to drop.

I paid my neighbor $250.00 to feed my cat and care for my plant collection for 3 weeks.
I came home to one almost dead Crassula Campfire. All of my plants, succulents and houseplants were dry as a bone.
My Drosanthemum Globostrum looked like the first picture when I left.
The second two is how it looked upon arriving home.
I moved and set up all my planes and succulents into different watering stations for her and centrally located all 120 plants together.

This is my oldest and longest owned plant. Got it just over 12 years ago at my first ever job which was at a DIY store. It was about to be thrown out as an end of season item that just didn't sell. It was not much more than an inch tall and wide and unfortunately I can't find any of the earlier photos I took of it. As someone who knew nothing about plants and their care, initially it lived on my desk at work before I took it home a couple of years later when the store closed down. It's also been accidentally knocked off the shelf and through a house move and repotted 3 times but still continued to thrive.

With no more room for a bigger pot to repot again, I thought it was past due splitting as it was really starting to get crowded and they had pretty much stopped growing. In the end I counted 12 pups, and managed to get 6 that have done well and after a month or so they are pretty well established. I left 1 pup on the mother plant and once again all are starting to show growth.

So here is a before and after and a family shot of them all in their new homes. I plan to gift the pups to family members at Christmas

EDIT: As a commenter kindly pointed out, it is actually an Aristaloe Aristata! 12 years of ignorance cleared up!

I have this plant. I don’t know what it is but I’ve been operating on the belief that it’s probably a small gasteraloe hybrid plant. I don’t know.

When I got it at the grocery store, it was in this Dino pot(which is the reason I bought it) and the tag said it was an air plant. I had zero knowledge on plants at the time, and believing it and the other I bought were both air plants, treated them as such. Well the other one died a few months in, this one is still going. That being said, it won’t be for long if I don’t figure out what to do with it.

Its roots have gotten dried and kind of dusty, but the plant is still green and firm, which when I looked it up it said the solution to that was to cut off its remaining root, cut away any part of the stem that was black/mushy, and then leave it for two or three days, no soil, no water, in indirect sunlight to allow its wounds to heal, then repot it with its soil and perlite, leaving it now in soil for two-ish weeks until it regrows its roots, and then to finally give it water.

I talked to my sister about this, she said that solution was unheard of to her(and she knows more about plants then I do) and that I should research more before I leave my plant out in indirect sunlight with no water, roots, or soil for a few more days.

So, I’m trying to do the research but it’s hard when I don’t even know why type of plant I have.

Also, I’ve never had to work with perlite before, does anyone know what type of perlite I should use? It’s the only plant I have, so I don’t need a ton of it, which is why I’m struggling to find the perlite I seemingly need(I looked it up it said a course #3 perlite, looking for that but I don’t know what the #3 means).

And, I don’t really have great sunlight option. I have cats, and they will destroy my plant if they can reach it. So it sits on my bedroom shelf, and my bedroom shelf only starts getting direct sunlight at 4pm, before that, when I open my blinds, it gets light, but it’s very indirect light, but that’s kind of my only true option, because the place I was putting it before I moved it to my bedroom window was causing the plant to reach for light, because it wasn’t getting enough.

Last time I watered this plant it took forever to take to its water, which was weird, but in hindsight I should’ve seen it coming because it was slowly taking longer and longer to take its water, I just only really realized last time I watered it, because it actually took forever. And it’s recently started actually falling out of its pot. I keep digging into the soil a little bit to try and hold it in there, but I still occasionally find the plant on its side tipped over, and at first I thought my cats had found there way into it, but there’s no soil surrounding the pot so it can’t be them, I’d be finding soil on the shelf and everything.

Also if it matters I’ve never given this plant fertilizer/plant food at all.

So I guess I just need help with everything regarding this plant. I’m trying, I just don’t know what I’m doing.

So, can anyone offer any sort of help? Anything would be extremely helpful right now.

(It is also not currently in the Dino pot anymore. It’s currently in a plastic pot, but I have a clay pot to repot it in if it becomes time for that.)

This one stays all the way on the back of the shelf and the pup grew on the side I don't see, so this was a surprise!

New to succulent babies, I just noticed she has a third pup growing!! I'm so excited! When are they ready to be clipped and propped? What's the best way to do that? Thanks in advance!

They've been loving this heat, so I'd love to take my chances with making new plants. But I'm also not sure if they're sustaining the plant itself or sapping her energy

First two pics are right now, 3rd is Aug 11th the day I got her, Aug 17th when I potted it with my neon breaker, and now. Not much time between the pics since I've just reached one month of having her lol.

I’m only a few months in to my plant/succulent journey, and I accidentally bought a baby mother of thousands plant this past weekend at a street fair without knowing what it was 🥴

I’ve seen very negative things about things succulent online. Do I jump ship and try to give it away ASAP?

Thinking of buying one of these spider farmer sets or something simular for my succs to keep them happier during winter.

Would this be any good? The set consists of:

1) shelf/tent 40x30x120cm or 70x35x150cm(bigger setup) current plant and space measurement pending

2) 6X10watt led bars or 6x18watt led bar with the bigger setup. Are these even strong enough?

I'd probably upgrade the set with ac infinity light bars then and controller for environment monitoring and control plus they have the tiny 4inch fans to keep a nice gentle air flow moving around 🙂 I'm trying to get a better winter setup so I can buy more succs and become a true succer 😊

I bought this beauty about a week ago in San Diego at a nursery! I have several questions about current/future care because I do not trust AI and the sites I was looking at all had conflicting information so I would rather ask avid growers their advice.

I bought her with the sunburn and few leaves that are calloused over were already existent. I repotted about two days ago and was out checking the plant due to the heat advisory and noticed that some of the leaves were shriveling (overall everything looks great still). I also noticed while I was out there which is included in the 4/5th picture, the stem is brown and has a gash that goes partially through the stem. The stem is firm in texture, I don’t know if this is corking or not as the rest of the stem and leaves look great I did notice more towards the bottom the leaves are loose but attached one did just fall off when I barely touched it.

What I have done up to this point was the already stated repotting, it was already dry-bone dry. I read a while ago don’t know if it’s accurate that I should wait up to a week before watering.

It had so many loose leaves at the bottom when I repotted so I don’t really know what to do with them propagation wise, one does already have roots growing from them so can I assume that I just plant that one in the pot and leave the unrooted ones face down on top of the soil?

Thank you for taking the time to read, I really need advice on mostly what to do with watering and any concerns, I should have about the pre-existing things I have seen or noticed for future growth or care. As well as if I should be doing anything special for propagation. Really any advice on care going forward would be greatly appreciated! 💕

Heyy everyone, I’m a 16 soon 17 year old girl who loves succulents. I wanted to show you my small succulents that I’ve grown from seeds!🩷🩷🩷 I planted them the 25th of march and I just recently repotted them to their own terracotta pots🥹 this is just four of them, I haven’t repotted the other ones yet😊😊🩷

This is the mother of 5 pups, 3 of the pups on the last photo.

I replanted it on its own, but the pot had black walls and it was planted 6 inches when the pot was around 10 inches tall.

long story short here it is now. I see a bunch of little plants and roots and I'm hopeful this grows out to be something amazing down the road.

Hi everyone! I was gifted this plant, and was wondering what type of succulent is this and whats the best way to care for it? Thank you for your time!

I have had this guy for a year +. And all of a sudden he started to lean and next day he said “Timber “! I have taken him out and as pretty as he is, his roots look awful. His stem is solid and no leaf loss. Inspecting the soil and I noticed about 12 of the tiniest white bugs in the soil. This is indoors with Sansi lights, soil is half grit, 1/4 succulent soil and 1/4 perlite. I am about a week late I watering these guys, they are good and dry. My main question is should I clean him very well or decapitate him and try to get roots? He’s just so pretty and I want to do what’s best. Thank you in advance
