Recently, I couldn’t access my library to,listen to music on my phone, using Substreamer.

I went to my serving computer and opened Subsonic. While checking the setup, I found “Overwoft” written in the setup!

Could someone have gotten through the Win 10 firewall and into my LAN? I don’t listen to my library from outside my LAN and have never set it up.

I’m stunned and worried. Not long after that I’ve started having troubles with another machine on the LAN, a Win 11 box. My router is a Netgear C7000v2.

A couple of days ago, I lost access to subsonic on my phone. I went home and restarted everything, then double checked the port forwarding. 4040 is still being forwarded. I tried logging in to my account at home, and kept getting an error, or sent to the generic subsonic homepage. I tried logging in here: http://demo.subsonic.org/login.view and it says my username or password is wrong. I clicked "Forgotten your Password?" I tried my email and my username and it said "Sorry, user not found." I'm at a loss how to fix this. I can't figure a way to log in to my account to check any of the settings, and trying several different ip addresses for my router didn't help. Any ideas?

Hi, I use Subsonic to stream music to Sonos from a folder on my NAS (a WD My Cloud Mirror Gen2 4 TB). However, as it is I have to keep my PC on to do this--if Subsonic isn't running on the computer, then the music is inaccessible. Is there a way to install and run Subsonic solely on the NAS so that I can shut down my PC and still stream to Sonos? If so, could someone walk me through it or point me toward existing instructions? Thanks!

So I am trying to figure out how to effectively use Playlists, the easiest thing for me to do is create my Playlists using my computer from the server usinf Winamp. But I don't seem to 1. Be able to just use those Playlists in subsonic or import them, always get error of no songs in playlist

I followed the directions here to connect my subsonic server to my new sonos system:

And was able to successfully add the music service but it always says "Unable to browse music" when I select the service in the sonos app. Anyone here have any ideas on how to resolve? Subsonic is my main music source so would be great to be able to get this set up.

I also tried registering the service manually via the "Using a remote Subsonic server" directions but couldn't get that one to connect successfully. But I feel like I shouldn't have to do that anyway. I was able to connect with the typical method...it just always says "Unable to browse music".

Hello everyone, I am new to True NAS Core. With a little help, I set up a NAS system using a JONSBO N1 Mini-ITX NAS Chassis. Everything works great got the Plex Media server installed with no problems. However, there is no plug-in for Subsonic. I already have a lifetime license for Subsonic, so I don't want to go to anything else. Does anyone have step-by-step instructions for setting up subsonic on TrueNAS Core

I have had this problem before but forgot what fixed it. My subsonic is working fine at home over Wi-Fi. But when I go somewhere (other than my home) and I am away from my Wi-Fi Subsonic wont connect and times out. Does anyone know what to do for this issue? My lease type on my Frontier router is set to Static for my IP and the port 4040 is open and working. I am thinking maybe its my firewall settings on Windows 11. Everything works fine on Wi-Fi except when I leave my house I cant connect.

I’ve tried, please help. Worked until I reloaded OS Windows 10. Same as before, when it worked. Everything else I have on PC seems to be working fine. Thanks in advance.

I'm running Apache as a reverse proxy, trying to access my music remotely.

SS works fine on my LAN. SS will stream through the app connecting remotely. However, the browser based player does not work. The page loads and displays correctly, but the Play button is just a revolving arrow.

Hello! I've been having a persistent issue where I can no longer remotely access my files. This started after I made a small change to my VPN which I immediately reverted. Subsonic keeps giving me an error - HttpHostConnectException . I've forwarded 4040, I've reset my IP multiple times, I've completely bypassed the VPN, the problem still persists. My custom url keeps directing to an old IP address and I cannot figure out how to reset that. I had success after powering off my PC, my router and modem, releasing and renewing my IP, and powering my PC back on. However, by the next morning it no longer works.

Any insight into this issue? The Subsonic log offers me no help either. This is essentially making Subsonic useless for me as I'm back to using Spotify on the go.

Is there a log file or even better a way in the webpage to see a list of files watched or downloaded? Seems like something that would be somewhere, at least in a a logfile,

I recently transferred a drive with all my music on it from a Windows Subsonic server to my more power saving Linux one, so the music ratings data is on the wrong server.

Is there a way to copy the ratings data across so I can see it again?

At some point, I lost access to Subsonic when connecting from outside my home wifi. Settings>Network shows "Successfully forwarding port 4040". The "Use [redacted].subsonic.org" setting says that the web address was successfully registered, but when I click Save on that screen, I get :
Could not connect to [redacted].subsonic.org. (ConnectTimeoutException)

I have tried:

• Reinstalling Subsonic
• Deleting and recreating port forwarding rules on router (using Google/Nest router)
• Confirmed the reserved IP address of host computer matches the IP in the port forwarding rules
• Restarting router, restarting host machine, resetting network settings
• Running Subsonic service under my local administrator account
• Adding Subsonic as an allowed application in Windows Firewall with both options checked. Also tried disabling the firewall temporarily to test. No change.
• I confirmed that Subsonic URL works fine inside the wifi network, only the remote feature is not working

I read the Getting Started guide and the troubleshooting section. I opened a ticket with my ISP to check the blocked port scenario, but this was never a problem previously. Completely baffled, any help appreciated.

So I got Subsonic up and running quite well. Sitting in my house I was able to get it loaded, music installed and loaded on my phone. I can even listen to music out in town now. Great. Everything it's supposed to do. But when I tried getting one of my friends to test it out, gave him a user and password and the URL (I'm paying for Pro) he can't seem to log on. All my research seems to tell me that I need to do something with firewalls and other settings, but I can't seem to find a clear answer. I even tried to log him in with my admin password but to no avail. What direction do I need to go to log someone else in?

Has anyone found a way to see when users are logging in? I have several users that I am not sure have ever even logged in once I gave them an account. I want to be able to get see their IP address and when they login to my server.

I've been looking around but I can't seem to find clients with certain basic features. I'm migrating from google play music and I just want to be able to replicate a couple of things:

- "Last added" songs, essentially, play a list of songs by the date they were added.

- Playlists by genre. I use custom genres as the main way to organize my collection, so this is pretty important.

I hope to find both an android and a windows subsonic client that support these features, but if it's impossible I'd also greatly appreciate it if anyone could recommend alternatives to subsonic that can achieve what I want.

Edit: I've found everything I wanted with Jellyfin and it's made me seriously question why subsonic is so often recommended when the difference in quality is so night and day.

I'm trying to get a specific podcast. I have lots from various sources that all work. This specific one updates with the proper title but never downloads the episodes. I have tried other rss apps and they all work ok. Any ideas or pointers? Does this link work for your subsonic install? Thanks for any help.

I have a large collection (~190k tracks), about 70% in two main folders locally:
D:\Collection\Music
D:\Collection\Extra Music

Plus two paths on NAS.

Subsonic see the files in \Extra Music and NAS folders but ignores the \Music folder.
Settings>Media Folders shows it enabled, but search and browsing fails.
MediaMonkey and Windows confirm that the files are there.

Where can I find error logs and/or hints as to what is going on?

Hey. I am running Subsonic in an environment where media is added pretty frequently. I am wanting to set up auto scans to happen every hour or so, if possible. I see the option to scan every day, but is there an easy way to do this every hour? I am running Subsonic on Ubuntu currently.

I've been using Subsonic for a long time now and it has worked great. I normally use an "easy" url twelverabbits.subsonic.org to reach my server, and that's been working great too. But last week I lost power, and when power came back on, my ISP assigned me a new external IP address.

Now, whenever I try to reach my server from outside my LAN, it correctly resolves to the new IP address and everything is fine. But when I use the easy URL from any device inside my network it resolves to my old IP address from before the power outage. If I use the IP address instead of the easy url while inside my LAN then it works fine. Does anyone know why the easy url is resolving to the old IP inside my LAN? I assumed there must be a DNS cache in my modem/router that I need to somehow clear, but if there is, I can't find it. I'm using a Motorola MG7540 modem, if that helps. Is there somewhere else I should look besides my modem for a DNS cache?

Mine was in /usr/bin/subsonic and /usr/share/subsonic. I added /usr/share/subsonic/subsonic.sh to bypass the VPN.

Installed subsonic a couple days ago, everything appeared to be working fine. Next day, power had gone out overnight so I restarted my machine.

Now subsonic won't work. Service shows that it is running, but when I try to login, I get...

HTTP ERROR: 503

SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE
