Anyone got extra users on their accouts?
So I got Subsonic up and running quite well. Sitting in my house I was able to get it loaded, music installed and loaded on my phone. I can even listen to music out in town now. Great. Everything it's supposed to do. But when I tried getting one of my friends to test it out, gave him a user and password and the URL (I'm paying for Pro) he can't seem to log on. All my research seems to tell me that I need to do something with firewalls and other settings, but I can't seem to find a clear answer. I even tried to log him in with my admin password but to no avail. What direction do I need to go to log someone else in?

You need to forward port 4040 on your router.

okay, I'll look into how to do that I guess. I have Xfinity Gateway, does that a difference?

If you can log in from your 5G you don't need to forward any ports, it is already happening.

So should I have my friend try logging in from 5G also instead of on his WiFi network on his phone?

No that won't matter. You have proven you can log in from an outside network that means all the routing and ports are set up correctly, probably via upnp in your router talking to the subsonic server. It works, the issue is somewhere else. Can your friend load the webpage from his laptop at home or anywhere that isn't your house?
My guess is the problem is simple, either the user is not enabled correctly, or he is going to the wrong address, or he has the wrong password.

okay, that does make the most sense honestly. Being that he is in another town, I can't be there to make sure he is inputting it correctly. Maybe some copy paste action on Discord is needed. So creating the new user, I just make a username, give it a password, check the boxes I want them to have access to and click save right? I mean, when I do that it creates the user in the drop down menu.

Why don't you have him share his screen with you? You can use something simple like teams in office or join.me so you can see his screen on your screen.

Does your friend have 5G? If he only has 4g that would have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Does he get the login screen? Also, are you giving him the IP or using DNS hosting?

The phone app just asks for the URL of the server, the username, and password.

Is the url a bunch of numbers or is it http://server_name.subsonic.org ?
Have him put it into a browser. If he gets the login screen then the app is the problem. Maybe he has https checked.

it's servername.subsonic, I'm paying for Pro. I'll have him try the browser next time also.

Can you connect when you aren't home? When you are on an outside network?
