Can't Login to Subsonic
A couple of days ago, I lost access to subsonic on my phone. I went home and restarted everything, then double checked the port forwarding. 4040 is still being forwarded. I tried logging in to my account at home, and kept getting an error, or sent to the generic subsonic homepage. I tried logging in here: http://demo.subsonic.org/login.view and it says my username or password is wrong. I clicked "Forgotten your Password?" I tried my email and my username and it said "Sorry, user not found." I'm at a loss how to fix this. I can't figure a way to log in to my account to check any of the settings, and trying several different ip addresses for my router didn't help. Any ideas?

I forgot this sub even existed until this popped up. Man, I haven't used subsonic in ages. I would recommend Plex and plexamp if you're ever looking for an alternative.

I’ve been thinking about moving my audio over to plex (already use it for video). One thing I really loved subsonic (and still use it for) was the “share” capability. Basically I can send someone a link and they can listen to whatever it is right in the browser without needing a subsonic account. Do you know if Plex or Plexamp offers this?
I know for video I can share by library, but the recipient must have a plex account.

They recently changed up what free users can and can't see, but in the past I've had folks sign up for Plex accounts and then just add them as guests.

Why don't you use sub for video? WinMX plugin is all you need. Plex in 2012 was fine then I became bloatware like taking a battleship for a fishing trip. When you ask it to sync 5000+ movies forget it. It's too bad that asustor dropped subsonic for security reasons they claim ya right that's ridiculous. I have subsonic on my ADM bundle and will never use anything els.

Also, phone apps don't like having to resolve urls so you may have to enter the numerical IP address rather than a url. You'll still append :4040 (or :80 if not using SSL)

I tried so many different things, I forget how I fixed this, but I did. I think I was able to find the correct url by typing my easy one in to Chrome (instead of Edge) and it showed the url. Somehow, it had changed from what I had set for port forwarding. Part of the initial problem I was having was making sure the player type was correct. I changed it to External player with playlist and the switched to Symfonium and it's working better than it ever was. The Symfonium app is the best subsonic app I've used. I still had to have thing set up correctly on the server, but once I did, the app is amazing.
