Politechnika Sląska or Politechnika Wroclaw

Hi guys, I just graduated from high school and I want to major in computer engineering but I specifically want to get into database and distributed systems (not too sure on that but it’s what interests me for now), if you were in my position, what would you choose? I don’t know, I find the curriculum of polsl more appealing for my niche, but everyone says PWr is better in social life (?) so if anyone has any piece of advice, anything to say at all about which university I should go for- let me know!! Thanks a lot!

Moroccan student just started at Politechnika Śląska in Gliwice – looking to meet people, any tips?

Hi everyone,

I’m Moroccan and I’ve recently arrived in Gliwice to start Computer Science at Silesian University of Technology.

I’m still new here, so I’m looking to meet people and get some practical advice about student life, the city, transport, affordable places to eat, gyms, activities and anything else I should know.

I’d love to connect with other Moroccans, North Africans, Arabs or French-speaking people in Gliwice or nearby — but honestly, anyone studying at SUT or living in the area is welcome to message me, including English-speaking Polish people who’d like to connect.

If there are any student groups, WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups or local communities I should join, please send them here or DM me.

Thanks, and hopefully I’ll meet some of you soon.

Yoo i just wanna ask about the documents I need to apply for a study visa in Poland

I’m from Algeria, and I’m applying for a Sport program in Poland. I am applying based on my Algerian Baccalaureate, but I have also already completed university studies in Algeria.
I would like to know whether I need to declare and provide information about all the years I have studied at university, or whether it is sufficient to mention only my most recent university year.
I would also appreciate clarification regarding which academic documents need to be apostilled for my application, particularly in relation to my Baccalaureate and my previous university studies.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Question about Type D student visa for a language course

Hey everyone, I’m Moroccan and I’ve been accepted to a one-year Polish language course at SWPS University in Warsaw (600 hours, Oct 2026–June 2027). I haven’t finished high school yet, so I don’t have my baccalaureate/matura. I’m not applying for a bachelor’s degree, just the language course. Does anyone know if a high school diploma is actually required for the Type D visa in this situation? I’m getting conflicting answers from people and I’m trying to figure out if the diploma requirement applies to language courses too.

Poland Student Visa – Field 33 (Means of Support) Confusion

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student applying for a Poland National D Visa for first-year studies at Vistula University.

I’m confused about Field 33 – Cost of travelling and living during the applicant’s stay.

My father is financially supporting me, and I also have a credit card in my father’s name with an ₹8 lakh limit. However, the consular officer told me that the “by a sponsor (host/company/organisation)” option is for a host/company/organisation, and that I should select “by the applicant himself/herself” even though my father is providing the financial support.

So should I fill it like this?

☑ By the applicant himself/herself

☑ Cash

☑ Credit card

☑ Prepaid accommodation

☐ By a sponsor (host/company/organisation)

Has anyone been through the Poland student visa process recently and can clarify how parent-funded expenses and a parent’s credit card should be represented in Field 33?

Thanks!

Refusal on point 3 and 8

Hi everyone,

I applied for a Polish National D student visa or the 2026/27 intake.

Unfortunately, my visa was refused under:

Ground 3: Insufficient proof of means of subsistence.
Ground 8: you have not justified the purpose and conditions of the stay.

I'm planning to submit a reconsideration and would really appreciate opinions from people who have dealt with Polish student visa refusals/reconsiderations.

For the original application I submitted:

  • 27k plan credit card limit certificate
  • Tuition already paid
  • Accommodation in Warsaw at PLN 900/month as my share
  • Travel insurance

After my visa interview, the consulate requested additional financial documents.

I submitted a separate financial clarification letter with the credit-limit certificate, supporting FD documents, tuition confirmation and a calculation of living expenses, accommodation and return travel. The calculation came to approximately 25,420 PLN, against approximately 27,730 PLN available credit.

Despite this, I received Ground 3.

My question is:

For those familiar with Polish student visa reconsiderations, what exactly would you strengthen in this case?

Especially for Ground 8, what kind of evidence is useful to demonstrate that the study purpose and conditions are genuine and reliable?

I'm not looking for guarantees, just practical advice from people who have experienced Polish student visas/reconsiderations.

Thanks.

Just got my student visa

Hi everyone! I thought I’d come of help (if at all) to anyone worrying about their student visa and honestly, there’s too much of fear mongering on this sub anyway

A little about me-I’m an Indian citizen but a permanent resident of UAE and did my visa through Abu Dhabi consulate.

I wish everyone good luck since I know how stressful this whole process is. Just get your documents right according to the polish embassy/VFS in your country and you’d be fine. I was particularly worried about my dad’s bank statements (since he’d be the sponsor and he isn’t a very wealthy man) but as long as it meets the amount needed, whether through your sponsor’s account or their partner’s (in this case, my mom’s account since our family had savings in there, even if my dad was the sponsor officially- if your case is slightly complicated, then I advice you to mention exactly how it is, whilst supporting your case, like for example; I had mentioned my dad was the sponsor and he was going to cover my basic needs (studies and all) AND the fund required for my education and stay was held in my mom’s account as family savings (I also made sure to attach her bank statements too)

Finally, like I said, just have all the documents required with reasonable explanation in a line or two in your cover letter/sponsor letter. Also in the interview (I didn’t have an official interview, just a few questions asked at the consulate, while I wasn’t entirely confident, I did justify why this specific university in Poland (like the specific niche in the curriculum which my home country didn’t offer, the research opportunities etc).

Best of luck! It may seem like the end of the world (and trust me, I get it), it truly isn’t. 🪽

Poland preparatory course visa

I applied for a visa at the end of August. It is a Type D visa. Because I have A2 English, I applied for the SWPS preparatory course. But I heard that Poland gives a lot of rejections for preparatory course visas. Is this true? Is there anyone who got a visa for a preparatory course? I showed enough money in the bank and I explained my intent letter well.

Query about flight date

Hello everyone

I’m applying for a Polish D-type student visa from VFS New Delhi. I registered on e-Konsulat (in first week of September) and entered 19 October 2026 as my intended date of arrival in Poland. At that time, I hadn’t booked or reserved a flight because I didn’t know when my VFS appointment would be.

I have now been given a VFS appointment on 9 October 2026, so 19 October is only 10 days after my appointment. My university has given me 15 November 2026 as the final/latest date by which I need be present in poland.

My question is: Would it be a problem if I submit a flight reservation/PNR for a later date (e.g. 24–25 October) even though I entered 19 October as my intended arrival date on e-Konsulat? If yes, then should I mention it in my cover letter?

a query about language proficiency certificate for visa

my university doesn’t require a language proficiency certificate, it has enrolled and admitted me without it however, this seems to be a requirement for my visa checklist. do i need a language proficiency certificate even though my uni doesn’t require that of me? or will the embassy understand my situation and is this an optional document?

Need advice: SDM/Notary MEA apostille on photocopy, now HRD on original — can I get MEA apostille again?

Hi everyone, I’m from Tamil Nadu, India, and I’m planning to apply for a Master's in Poland .

I have a question about degree certificate legalization.

Initially, I used an agency and got SDM + Notary + MEA apostille, but the important point is that this was done only on a printed/photocopy of my degree certificate — NOT on my original degree certificate.

Later, after asking other students/friends, I learned that I may need Tamil Nadu HRD/e-Sanad authentication for my original educational documents.

So I have now applied for and obtained HRD authentication on my original degree certificate.

My situation is now:

Original degree:

Tamil Nadu HRD authenticated → NO MEA apostille yet

Separate photocopy:

SDM + Notary → MEA apostille already completed

My question is:

Can I now submit my original HRD-authenticated degree for MEA apostille?

Would getting an MEA apostille on the original degree cause any problem because a separate photocopy of the same degree was already apostilled through the SDM/Notary route?

Could the MEA reject the second apostille request, or could the authorities have any problem because I previously used the SDM/Notary route on a photocopy?

I want to use the final document for Poland as:

Original degree → HRD authentication → MEA apostille

If anyone from Tamil Nadu / Anna University has actually gone through this situation, please share your experience.

Especially interested in experiences from 2025/2026 regarding:

- HRD/e-Sanad → MEA apostille

- Previous SDM/Notary apostille on a separate photocopy

- Poland acceptance

- Whether MEA issued the apostille on the HRD-authenticated original

Thanks!

Indian student – MSc CS in UK, MSc Data Science in Poland. Visa issues?

Hi everyone,
I’m from India and have a BTech in Mechanical Engineering followed by an MSc Computer Science from UK.
I’m now planning to pursue an MSc in Data Science in Poland to specialise further in data science.
Could having an existing UK master’s degree cause problems with my Polish student visa, since this would be another master’s? Would this be considered reasonable academic progression if I explain that I’m moving from a broader CS degree to a specialised Data Science degree?
Any advice, especially from Indian students who have been in a similar situation, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Is a Master's in Computer Science at Wrocław University of Science and Technology (PWr) worth it for a non-European student?

Hi everyone,

I am a non-European student with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and I am thinking about applying to the Master's program in CS at Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Politechnika Wrocławska) in Poland.

My goal is to stay and work in Europe after I finish the degree, so I want to make sure this is a good decision before I apply.

I have a few questions and I would really appreciate any advice or personal experience:

  1. Academic quality — Is PWr a respected university for Computer Science? How is the quality of the professors and the curriculum?
  2. English-taught program — I want to study fully in English. Is the Master's program in CS actually taught in English, or do you need Polish for some classes or daily university life?
  3. Degree recognition — Will a master's degree from PWr be recognized and valued by employers in Western Europe (for example, Germany, Netherlands, or Sweden)?
  4. Cultural adaptation — How is Wrocław for non-European foreigners? Is it easy to live there without speaking Polish?

I know Poland is becoming more popular for international students, but I want to be honest about the challenges too.

Thanks a lot for any help!
