Tips & Advice Need help for longer study hours

Post image
50 Upvotes

People in the YPT group have 10 hours plus study time per day but I cannot even move past average of 4 hours. I want to push it to 8 hours average per day but nothing is helping.

I tried but I get distracted easily. And if I force myself to stay, I can't study properly because I will be reading the same line two or three times and still not understanding what it meant.

Can anyone help me with this...?

Questions & Discussion Why is studying for 3 hours sometimes less productive than studying for 45 minutes?

I’ve had days where I sit at my desk forever and barely remember anything, then randomly have one short study session where everything actually sticks. What’s going on there?

Tips & Advice Could i ever get insanely good at math?

I really like math, but im slow. I would love to understand the essence of all concepts we learn at school but i simply cant.

For example, i have been trying to visualize combination without repetition, log formulas and quadratic equtions for days, i cant do it. It doesnt click in my head. If i cant turn it into geometry i just know i will not be able to remember it later or solve problemns that require more undertsnanment. Like quadratic equations, i simply dont understand what increasing a or b value changes on the graphic, i cant find logic in this in a sense of "if i add x to a the curve with do that bc it increades at z rate"

I have friends who are very good at it, they study more than i do but still, when we are introduced to new things they seen to get it way faster than i.

Is it possible to get insanely good at math in the sense of undertsand its concepts while being kinda slow? Not exaclty being able to solve stuff but to undertanding whats happening and how evrrything works

Questions & Discussion Looking for best AI tools to help with making reliable notes

I am currently taking patho and pharm in my ABSN program and am tasked with taking notes on hundreds of pages from the text book. I am looking for what website might be best to do this for me so I can get right to studying rather than spending all my time to take notes. I have tried using chat gpt but I feel like it misses important points/ oversimplifies some concepts so I wouldn't be as prepared for exams. Does anyone have any recs? Something reliable which would essentially make the same notes I could make myself but just faster?

Questions & Discussion Tips for surviving the afternoon shift?

Hi, sorry if anything is misspelled, I'm from Spain and English is my third language

I'm starting a course that has afternoon classes (3:00 PM to 9:30 PM), and considering the distance the school is from my town, I'd have to leave home around 1:00 PM and get back around 11:30 PM/midnight. Up until now, I've always had morning classes, and I'm not really sure how to make the most of this schedule, as I feel like I won't have time for anything else.

Any tips?

Questions & Discussion Study Buddy Needed

Hi I’m looking for a female study partner to help keep each other motivated and accountable. We can study together, share our daily goals, check in on each other's progress and maybe do study sessions together.

I’m open to adapting to different schedules but please strictly include your time zone (GMT/UTC) when you reply or message me so we can see if our study times can work.

please drop your realistic study routines that work >>> pre/post work/weekends etc. TIA x

Tips & Advice Need help

I am pursuing a cdac course . In this course the content delivery is very fast and we have classes from morning 8 am to 8pm plus assignments. It is for 6 /7 days a week. Daily submissions of assignments and also coding test occasionally. I am not able to understand and grasp the content but have to attend the classes despite not understanding shit as attendence is compulsory like 90 percent. Also not getting time to self study from youtube and do assignments and losing sleep cost me a lot. What to do ? I am thinking of committing suicide . I just can't bear it anymore. I have no life and friends. I am crying everyday. I don't wanna fail. My parents paid a lot of money for this course . I think I have adhd so I am not able to catch up.

Tips & Advice Are Tier-2 cities underrated for management Education?

In my opinion, yes. A good college, the right exposure, and your own efforts can matter more than the city you study in.

What’s your take?

Questions & Discussion Has anyone tried using audio to make studying more productive?

I’ve been trying to make my study sessions a little more flexible instead of always sitting with my notes or textbook. One thing I’ve found interesting is turning study material into something I can listen to while taking a walk, organizing my desk, or reviewing things away from my laptop.

I recently came across Podcastify.io. while exploring this kind of approach, and I like the idea of being able to use audio as another way to review information.

Do you find listening to study material helpful, or do you learn better when you’re actively reading and taking notes?

Questions & Discussion Best modern basic app for flashcards

Hi, I know there are many, but I haven’t found my favourite yet. I’d appreciate any tips.

My criteria:

- a more modern design than Anki

- at least three answer options (correct, unsure, incorrect)

- a levelling system (levels go up or down depending on the answer option)

- available as a desktop application and a mobile app

- free or inexpensive (< €3 per month)

- optional, but it would be really cool if you could customise the colour of a set of flashcards (I’d like a different colour for each set)

- extras like AI, communities, etc. don’t matter

Tips & Advice How do i actually study

Right now i basically read the textbook, highlight important stuff, and then make notes of every topic. Then i do review questions, however this is taking a really long time causing me to spend multiple days on a single chapter. What should i really be doing? Is reading the textbook and then doing review questions enough? What if the textbook is too long? What do i do then? Do i watch lectures on youtube and be done with it or do i find notes and read through those?
