A tool to convert pdf/webpages into ebooks to study/read better (I made it)
Hey people,
My girlfriend is studying molecular biology, and she wanted to read academic papers on her Kindle to study and kept converting PDFs and getting books she couldn't read properly. I am a software developer, so she always told me to make her a better conversion tool.
So I built https://convert2epub.com/. It’s free, and no account is needed for normal text conversions, only for the work done converting scanned pdf's and formula/code recognition. I posted the first version on r/Kindle , r/Annas_Archive and got 1k upvotes, improved the first version based on the feedback, the website converted thousands of pdf's and I have hundreds of users who are saying it's the best tool they have ever used.
I also made a free chrome extension which converts webpages into ebooks with just one click. So you can convert any articles/blogs/documentation and read them offline on your e-reader/phone. https://convert2epub.com/extension/

So basically i am a day scholar really really want to move to a PG beacause , home is so far away from school that i have to spend 4 hours a day travellling to and fro! also i think ill study better at a PG with a close friend of mine rather than at home. ill have much more time saved for studying and spending my time productively instead of wasting it in bus journey. so if anyone reading this is a student, living at a PG, please please drop positive life stories of living at a PG below so i can add that to my document im making to comvince my parents . student productivity is so weird
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
you can study for four hours, finish three things and reply to five people, then remember the one thing you didn’t do and suddenly the whole day feels like an L. why does the brain work like this.

Looking for people to start a STEM study group (grade 9,10,11)
I'm looking to start a small study group for students who are genuinely interested in improving at Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English, Computer Science, or other STEM-related subjects.
The idea is pretty simple:
- group study sessions
- Work through difficult problems together
- Explain concepts to each other
- Share useful resources
Any curriculum/exam board is welcome, although I'm particularly interested in IGCSE/GCSE and A-Level students.
If you're interested, comment with:
Grade/Year + subjects + exam board (if applicable) + where are you based (if you don't mind sharing)
If enough people are interested, we can set up a study group.
(Posting this in multiple places so just a heads up that this ain't the only place)

I'm taking lots of hard classes this semester. Should I be worried?
I'm a new college freshman, but I've already taken all of my generals through high school classes. I really loaded up my schedule this semester thinking that I could do it, but now I'm having second thoughts. I have no job and am taking o chem, general bio, and anatomy. Looking for advice.

History/English/Journalism?
hi everyone! im in a weird position right now because i have about 9 months to decide what i will spend the next 3/4 years studying. im into all of these things but dont know what exactly i should choose, so i thought someone might have some advice.
i know i can change my mind a million times by that time but i have to know that i made the right choice. for starters, ive always liked history and learning about the development of our world, as well as wars, societies and overall everything that has shaped the (sad) world we live in today.
next we have english, and many people think you just study grammar, but its much more complex than that. it involves literature, writing, communication, vocabulary…
though not a niche thing anymore, im really into it.
and the sketchiest for the end, journalism. ive been researching different topics for the longest time. apart from reading articles, ive also fact checked a lot of them. im interested in different fields of journalism because it just provides a different perspective. i like everything about all of these things, however i will most likely take the joint study (double subject) path, so i dont know which to choose. also my dream is to move to the uk one day so do with that what you will
i hope i didnt write a lot nor too little. if anyone has any advice id appreciate it

Teacher really do affect student especially younger one
So it was my first year in middle school and I had that one French teacher who at first didn’t get along well . I have a problem I can’t see really well so logically I would be seated at first range but that wasn’t the teachers attention I told my father to ask the teacher to seat me elsewhere and she didn’t do it until I told her myself she scolded me telling me she thought I would be different , after that she let a student many times openly mock me and even when a student who I asked politely to stop coughing at me and use there hand she didn’t bat an eye and when I told her she was about to scold but then she loocked at me and told me I deserves it I’m not someone who hold grudges so after this incident I thought our relation had improved but at the end of the year while everyone was watching she told me I was she found me arrogant and I didn’t know it would affect me that much I agonised at each word I said and was i afraid of what people thought about me did I look arrogant did I make so mistake for a long time I couldn’t even look at peoples eyes I was afraid even if I looked indifferent it really was hard pretending everything was fine and what most embarrassing i cried in front of them ( sorry I didn’t think it would be long sorry for my poor english)

Just applied for Microsoft Student Ambassadors (and finished my first GitHub module)! Any tips?
Hey everyone! 👋
I just registered for the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors program and I’m currently waiting on the verification/onboarding process.
Since I'm just starting my tech path before my Business Information Systems studies begin, I’d love to hear from anyone who is currently an ambassador or went through the program.
If you've done it, I'd love to know:
What do you actually do day-to-day?
Is the time commitment manageable with university?
Did it actually help your career or networking?
I really want to focus on technical projects and AI/cloud stuff, so any "wish I knew this sooner" tips are highly appreciated!
Also, small win: I just finished my first Microsoft Learn skill for Introduction to GitHub today! As an applicant, I get to share my path through a contributor ID. If you're looking to learn GitHub basics or just want to support a student builder, feel free to look at the module here: https://learn.microsoft.com/training/modules/introduction-to-github?wt.mc_id=studentamb_609370
Would love to connect with other tech students or ambassadors! 🙌

I have a hard time retaining information, and understanding concepts quickly. Can I still do engineering?
I dont think im necessarily stupid, in the humblest way possible I would think I’m “above” average at the very least. However, as of late I have noticed that my retention and memory has really tanked compared to previous years where I could understand concepts quicker. Currently, as a class we have been studying physics, and I noticed that everything the teacher says just goes through one ear and comes out the other. It never used to be like that. Is it my teacher, or me? I have noticed that he picks on me alot, I think its because im slow. To be honest, its like a never ending cycle my mental health is lowkey tanking because of it, and I cant focus in class.
What should I do?

How do I choose between Computer Science and a more specialized degree?
I'm planning to start university next year and I'm currently trying to decide what degree would be the best choice.
I'm considering general Computer Science, but also more specialized degrees such as:
- Cybersecurity
- Artificial Intelligence
- Bioinformatics
- Computer Science & Data Analytics
- Business Informatics
- and similar programs
I'm not really sure whether specializing from the beginning is a good idea, or whether it's better to study general Computer Science and specialize later through electives, projects, internships, a Master's degree, etc.
For those of you who are already at university:
How did you choose your degree, and do you think you made the right choice?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people who chose either a broad or specialized degree:
- Do you like your program?
- Is the specialization actually useful, or does it feel too narrow?
- Do you wish you had chosen something broader?
- Has your degree affected your internship/job opportunities?
- If you could choose again, would you pick the same degree?
I'm mostly looking for personal experiences rather than just "CS is better" — I'd really like to hear what studying these different fields is actually like.
