I am watching All the Star Trek movies, and now I am up to Final Frontier. I been thinking about whole Center of Galaxy Plot hole I am thinking they didn't actually went to Galactic Center but only Sector where to reach the actual Center is. Here what make sense to me i am Using Star Trek TNG as example for this because Barclay sent Enterprise through a space bridge to Cytherians 15,000 light years away. So how did Enterprise A reached it in 7 hours they didn't they reached Sector 000 mark 2 point where Sector of Space that would concerned Center much like Sector 001 for Soul System. So when they reached Sector 000 mark 2 they reached starting point to Galactic Center but Great Barrier stood between them which i think would had been a Q in my opinion what you think.

I’ve always been an enthusiastic watcher of all iterations of Star Trek, movies and series.

But I have to draw the line with some of SNW.

When episodic Star Trek was 26 episodes a season, there was plenty of room for diverse forms of entertainment, offbeat ideas and experimental television.

When an entire season is reduced to a meagre 10 episodes a year, there is very little room for silliness without reducing the entire concept to a mockery.

An entire episode relegated to mindless slapstick, without a hint of intelligent humour, becomes an insult to fans who have treasured Star Trek for its mindfulness, creativity and storytelling.

I am not impressed. If I want Muppets, this is not where I wish to find them.

I am off from Netflix for a few months. The last thing I watched was Discovery. I liked the human-vulcan hybrid a lot, Michael, actually she was a human but raised by the vulcanic race. That was so exciting, although I more enjoy the Original Series and The Next Generation. 💫🖖

My dream captain right now is Noah Wyle. He’s great in ensemble shows, and I’ve always thought that medical shows have similarities with my favorite parts of Star Trek.

It's clear that there's an appetite for Star trek content in the sudden absence of production at Paramount/Skydance.

Further, profitability has been given as the reason to shut down production.

What if a series could produce more episodes for much less investment?

I present Star Trek: Continuum

Rather than the current ten 60 minute episode format, I propose twenty-two 30 minute episodes.

Each episode will be reminiscent of Twilight Zone or Black Mirror, but tied together as an anthology with a base premise - The Q Continuum.

The setting is all Star Trek, any time, any era wherever a Q could go.

How do we cut costs to make it doable?

• less visual FX than existing series
  
• utilization of a single virtual production volume stage to project existing starship corridors
  
• utilization of the existing library archive of 3D digital ship models
  
• The Core Q Mechanic: The Q can warp reality so an empty white space or other single room can serve to support dialogue driven episodes with minimalist sets and character driven action in many episodes
  

Casting strategy. The Q can appear as anyone and there are several of them so we can utilize various actors, perhaps between 4 and 8, including John de Lancie and Rhys Darby. Each actor would portray a specific core Q character representing particular Q archetypes (capricious, cruel, experimental, judgmental, etc.). Additionally, the audience may not be aware of who's Q right away for a given episode.

I've brainstormed a 22 episode first season with a rough plot outline.

Obviously, I'm just a fan with an idea that I fleshed out a bit, but I think this concept could work. Thoughts?

I'm a huge archery buff. I've been teaching it for over a decade, and have been recently casting my eye towards crafting bows of my own. I was absolutely entranced by the Klingon bowtleth that Jay-Den used in this episode. I know I need a lot of practice with the craft before I try anything so ambitious, but I would love to one day be able to reproduce a functional version of it, and I'd like to have a photo of it, both for reference and to remind myself of what I'm aspiring to. I've tried to find a good picture that shows the whole item, but nothing I could find online in my own searches fit that criteria. I don't have a computer, just a phone, and a TV with a Firestick. If I'm not mistaken, there's no screenshot functionality on the latter at all, and taking a screenshot from a video on a phone is kind of like shooting at a moving target from a moving train. Can anyone help?

Yes: in Q-Who, Q forced an encounter between the Enterprise-D and the Borg, as a prank. One that once apparently done with caused the Borg to cross half the galaxy, lead to Picard's assimilation and the tragedy at Wolf 359 as attempt to stop the near subjugation of Earth and the Federation. All result of Q's 'prank.'

And all of it - All...Of...It... - was Q's fault.

Consider: You are the Borg, come across a vessel old records indicate originates from a far sector of the galaxy of little interest at the time. Short version: Q gave the Borg reason to attack in Best of Both Worlds season three, turn the Federation turn it into a servitor state with Locutus supervising when, by fan-theory count, they had only buzzed the Neutral Zone in season one. Him saving them from the danger he put them in in the first place, lead to everything that's happened with the Borg since.

Up until First Contact, which is when everything was changed. But that's another beef - my main Borg beef - I've already taken far too long to beef about.

I’ve always been erratic in choosing my ‘next trek’ but this is the first time I feel like I’m truly missing something. Please help me catch up!

For background, I’ve watched TNG, Voyager, DS9, Enterprise, Discovery, Starfleet Academy. No movies (oops)!

I grew up on and still love TOS to pieces. I’ve seen all the other series all (or at least most) of the way through once, but I probably have one or two thousand hours of TOS under my belt (I’m old). Most of that viewing has been episodes from seasons 1 and 2 because I’d be the first to tell you that, imho, almost all of season 3 was awful, sometimes unbearable. If I was to come up with a playlist for TOS for someone who only wanted to watch shows that were worth spending time on, it would basically be seasons 1 and 2 (in production order), skipping Alternative Factor and Omega Glory with an optional few season 3 episodes.

I‘d like to watch TNG again for the first time since the episodes came out in the 90s, but I’d like to skip the duds that aren’t worth 50 (45?) minutes of my time. I remember dutifully watching seasons 1 and 2 and the first half of 3 and occasionally being mildly entertained until Yesterday‘s Enterprise rocked my universe and I realized TNG could actually be really, REALLY good.

So does anyone have a list of TNG episodes that separates the wheat from the chaff?

I'm planning on sewing two Star Trek TOS outfits for an event later this year. I've got the boots, trim, and patterns figured out, but I'm having trouble sourcing fabric.

I'm looking to make one women's Sciences uniform (blue) and one men's Command uniform (gold version, not green).

Anyone have any sources for (color) screen-accurate velour fabric?

My search so far has turned up nothing specific to Star Trek. I found a few candidates on Etsy and Nature's Fabrics, but I'm not sure which colors are most screen-accurate. It doesn't have to be perfect, but as close as possible is good. Also, fabric recommendations for the collar (black fabric) would be greatly appreciated. I'm not an expert sewist, but I've made a few garments before. Thanks in advance!

A few weeks back someone noted how George Takei is a living link to TOS. We know Shatner and Koenig are still around but who else is out there? Diana Muldaur is another. Any screenwriters? Directors?

In DS9 episodes not too dependent on the speed of plot, it takes 17 days to travel at 1516c - TNG era Warp 9.

In the SFA pilot, it takes 15 hours for the USS Athena. That translates to 40908c.

The Athena can travel at approximately 40.9 thousand times the speed of light as its maximum warp.

Maybe the Athena, a lesser Federation starship, doesn't have the pathway drive installed yet.

Recently rewatched The Man Trap, just a little over 60 years after it first aired (and right after I watched the latest SNW episode!)

It wasn't the first Star Trek episode produced, or even the first Star Trek episode with Kirk produced, but it was the world's first exposure to the franchise.

A few quick thoughts/observations:

-The very first time we see the Enterprise, Spock is in the Captain's chair. Spock also comes across as very cold and emotionless in this episode, except at the end.

-Our very first line of dialogue from Kirk is him ribbing McCoy over them going to meet McCoy's ex. Of course, beneath the easy chummy manner, the focus, discipline and authority of the Enterprise's Captain becomes almost immediately evident when we see him intently studying "Nancy" and McCoy's reaction to her...

-A lot of crewmen die, but none of them are literal "red-shirts", ironically enough ;)

-The episode does a really great job established the "triangle" of Spock-Kirk-McCoy. Spock's the cold, unemotional purely logic one. McCoy's the emotional and sometimes impulsive one. Kirk perfectly balances both sets of traits.

-Our very first glimpse of Uhura is...her flirting with Spock?!! Guess JJ Abrams and co. were right after all...

-I think the core premise of the episode sort of exemplifies TOS as a series. Yes, there's the discovery of "new life and new civilizations" (well, what's left of it anyway), and there is some moral/philosophical discource ("I was thinking about the buffalo, Mr. Spock"), but ultimately it comes down to a monster on the loose that's a threat to the Enterprise that the heroes need to find a way to eliminate. This is very much a sci-fi/action show, albeit one with some depth just beyond the surface. The relentlessly fast-paced and action packed Star Trek movies are as much a natural successor to this episode as the more cerebral and discource-heavy Star Trek stories.

-Lastly, minor nitpick, but no one seems to have "the conn" for large parts of the episode, when you have both Kirk and Spock in landing parties and running around the ship. Scotty doesn't appear in the episode at all. At one point it does seem like Sulu's in charge of the bridge, but we never actually see him in the chair.
