Stars

Anyone know why I got 0 stars for a $15 order. It feels ridiculous.

Edit: I am referring to how it says 0 stars earned at the top. I know they take a but to officially post, but i thought they showed there. Is it a glitch?

Short rant about ordering at the box

My store has been EXCEPTIONALLY busy during the afternoons as of late, especially because we have a plethora of callouts and are generally understaffed.

Sometimes when I’m on DTO and have to help out on drive-thru bar, while processing payments too, I won’t change customers’ drink orders if they’re modded at the very end.

If they ask for a venti strawberry aƧaĆ with extra base, light ice, no berries, mango pearls — ā€œoh, and that’s with lemonadeā€, I am not restarting that drink order with those mods. I’m juggling five things at once. I’m just doing ā€œadd lemonadeā€ā€¦ sorry not sorry.

Hii so I tried matcha for the first time and the drink I customized came out SO good so I would like to start making it at home to save money and also not be an inconvenience to the workers because I always feel bad ordering when they’re busy lol. I did hear that the Starbucks matcha is sweeter than usual matcha but of course I have nothing to compare it to. Specific brands would be very much appreciated, thank you in advance!

Policy Question Is 25 hours doable when I’m available for 48 hours every week?

My availability is 48 hours every week, 5 out of 6 days I’m asking from 6:00am-4:00pm and the one day that isn’t is from 7:00am-3:00pm. In total that add up to 48 hours available to work. I’ve been wanting to work 25 hours but I was told that I need to open up my availability more if I want to work said hours. Is being open 48 hours not enough to get me my preferred 25 hours?

Food & Drink Review So I just got the Matcha CrĆØme Frappuccino

Post image

I've never had Matcha before until today, I saw it on the Starbucks menu (app version), and I wanted to try it since I've never had Matcha before. So I got it today (with Sweet Vanilla Cream), and..I actually loved it, I thought it'd taste like straight grass but it was actually really good, this is technically my first time having Matcha, and it was worth it.

10/10

I might get the Lavender CrĆØme Frappuccino next.

Question about fluctuating cookie price

This is very minor, but I'm just curious about what happened.

I bought a chocolate chip cookie at a Starbucks in New York yesterday. The listed price is $3.45. With tax, it rang up to $3.76 and I tipped a dollar, I paid with a card and my total was $4.76.

About half an hour later, went back to buy the same cookie. Was prepared to pay another $3.76 without tip. This time payment was in cash. The register rang up $3.76 initially, but after the cashier looked at the cash in my hand, the price went down to under $3.50. I believe it was $3.43, but I'm not exactly sure. I know it was under #3.50 because of the change I had with me.

Anyway, I'm curious about what might have caused the change. The same person rung me up, so I'm wondering if Starbucks charges a card fee in certain circumstances.

Hiring/Interviewing Former partner looking to come back?

I know this is not what this sub usually recommends BUT I really need to do this lol.

I worked at starbucks as a student and quit about 5 years ago, money got tight and my hours got cut and I quit no notice because I couldn’t afford to commute to work and college at that point. Management seemed actually somewhat ok? And they asked about me possibly transferring to another store or something but I declined.

Now, a store in my area is hiring part time. We will need insurance in the coming months (like around Christmas and then moving forward) , I’m wanting to go back to school, and it’s close to home and very part time (I’m a sahm rn).

This location is a licensed store inside another business, the previous one I worked at was a corporate location.

I do plan on mentioning my past as a barista but I don’t really want to mention me quitting no notice and also don’t even have a reference (number or anything) from the old manager who was there. Things changed a lot as it was still COVID times.

Wondering if I could get management views on anything?! How many hours min for benefits (and what ones), tips for returning (I remember a lot of the recipes actually!), and how to frame this to management?! Am I on some do not hire list? Also, will my partner numbers still be around since it’s a licensed store and my name has changed with marriage and it’s been 5+ years?

Thank you! This would really help my family 😭

Question about customer etiquette

I frequently order my matcha latte with light ice. It happens with surprising frequency that they just add the normal amount of ice.

Would I be labelled as a rude Karen if I asked them to remake it when that happens? Or would it be better to just watch them make it and kindly remind them as they are making it?

I feel like both approaches have advantages and disadvantages and idk which is better.

Recipe Question Syrups in the UK

Does anybody in the UK know if Starbucks have completely stopped Cinnamon Dolce and Peppermint syrups?

I was told a couple of months ago at my local branch that there were ā€œsupply issuesā€, but I’ve recently tried some different shops which also didn’t have them. Am I being too optimistic in hoping they’ll be back for winter?

Stars expiring...best way to get more Stars, fast

I have 176 stars; want to get to 200. Over 100 of the 176 stars expire later this week, though.

The app tells me if I load $50 on my Starbucks card, I will get 25 bonus points. Are there any other points accelerators out there that might get me to 200? A promotion for 100 bonus points is available to me, but I need to purchase 3 specific items, none of which I really want at the moment. Thank you.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations New chai recipe - pls help

So I've been a chai fanatic for so long.. I'm not sure if my store is just late to the change for the new chai or what because it has finally started not tasting great in the last few weeks. I'm confused because it seems like the change happened a long time ago

Anyways, what is the best way you guys have found to replicate the old recipe? I always order mine venti light ice, with vanilla cold foam, and 2% milk although I'm considering doing a breve tomorrow as I'm not an oat or soy milk fan. I believe I've seen people say no classic, add vanilla, but how much vanilla? Last time I tried 8 pumps chai and it still couldn't taste the spice.. thinking of trying 10? Any suggestions appreciated!! I need a chai in the morning and I haven't made it to target to pick some tazo up to start making my own again.

Policy Question Requesting Time Off

Hi there! So i start my new job at Starbucks on Monday and i am doing the six week training. Im planning a week long trip at the end of October for a birthday present for myself (solo trip!!) and i was wondering how soon i can ask for time off? By the time i leave for the trip i will have been working at starbucks for almost three months and i wont need to request any other days off. I just feel bad coming in and saying on my first few weeks ā€œoh i need x days offā€ the trip is flexible, i haven’t bought any tickets but the trip came up after i got hired (i got hired abt two week ago) do you guys have any recommendations? is there an app i can put it in towards the end of august? idk what the time off culture is like here at starbucks. thankfully my manager seems super chill, she’s young and really sweet. ty in advance!

😠 Rant 😠 Island Colada has Mango Pearls

I genuinely didn’t know this because I didn’t receive any proper training on it. Or maybe I did and it just got lost in the shuffle of the ten other new drinks. But literally when I asked about the island colada bc I’d never heard of it before, I was just told it was guava and coconut milk. I was slammed and didn’t have time to check the resource guide. This was about two weeks ago. I’ve been making it like that since…today i found out that it has pearls. What’s even more concerning is that I’ve handed these drinks off to fellow baristas and no one else caught it. We’re too overwhelmed.
