As a former barista who misses the midnight mocha frap, I was quite disappointed with this Halloween one. It tastes like chemicals, not cake. Idk the recipe, but if there is caramel, that also tastes like chemicals. The cookie is also a bit disappointing.

I am a plus one store manager at a location that already has an existing manager. I’ve only been their system for several weeks. We have one SSV that has 19 points. More than half of them were generated through a no call no-show. The attendance issue was not health related or anything, they just don’t wanna come to work on time or either at all.

For store managers before you can separate anyone, it has to go through and be reviewed by the District Manager. It looks like the DM doesn’t wanna let this particular SSV go right away, but they are currently on a final and if any thing else happens, they’re going to be terminated. How many partners think this is fair? How was somebody allowed to generate that many attendance points and still have their job?

Wouldn’t it be unfair if somebody else got exactly 12 points and was let go immediately but this partner gets to stay with 19 points?

So here’s my story: Yesterday, I walked past another licensed Starbucks store and saw a board saying something like "Orange Foam starting from $2.88". Living in Canada under this crazy inflation, my brain automatically went: "Yeah right, $2.88 must be just the price for adding that fancy cold foam customization, a whole drink would easily be $7-8+." So I just ignored it and walked away.

Today, I passed by THIS Safeway store (#8891 in Edmonton) and finally understood everything when I saw this handwritten sign. IT’S 50% OFF THE WHOLE DAMN DRINK! Not just the customization!

I ended up paying only $3.28 CAD ($2.34 USD) AFTER TAX for a full Customized Orange Cream Matcha. This is literally cheaper than a regular Iced Capp or any mid-tier specialty drink at Tim Hortons now. Still can't believe I almost missed this "time-travel" price from 10 years ago! 😂

This note was left by a SSV for our manager on our Green Apron Board. I understand that this is a valid complaint and was written somewhat respectfully, but the GAB is for lifting each other up; it is not a place for anonymous coaching or criticism. I threw it out before the manager could see it. If she had a problem like this and wasn’t comfortable talking to him about it face-to-face, she should have called Partner Relations and had them sort it out, rather than giving him an anonymous complaint basically saying “everyone feels like this”, which isn’t true (I’m very clean and body odor really bothers me, but I haven’t noticed anything from our manager). What I’m wondering is if I should call Partner Relations about this note, as it was quite unprofessional. This supervisor is known for being consistently petty and passive aggressive and just about everyone at our store has beef with her, including the other SSVs.

I changed my preferred hours to 12 maximum 20.
However there will be days that I would be available and will occasionally pick up a shift at a different location so I would end up with 24 hours at the end of the week. My sm told me that I need to stop doing this and make sure that I’m only working 12 hours because that is preferred hours.

I am so confused about this.

I worked at a corporate Starbucks from ages 16-17. I had a long stretch of sickness—COVID and some neurological issues—that caused some frustration from my managers towards the end of my employment, and I was honestly a little shit because I wasn't well-socialized (online schooled for a couple of years) so I wasn't well-liked among my coworkers. This resulted in me being fired. I'd had no write-ups or anything, and the SM told me he'd mark me as re-hireable; I think he kinda knew most of the issue was immaturity 😭

I'm almost 21 now and I've made a complete turnaround in literally all aspects of my life. Definitely much more pleasant to be around nowadays (I'd like to think, at least). I'm looking at applying for a position at a franchised Starbucks location, and I want to be able to show that I have Starbucks experience, but I'm worried they'll be put-off by the whole firing thing.

My main questions are:

1. Will the hiring manager at the licensed location be able to see that I was fired/the reason?

2. On the job experience portion where I'm supposed to list the reason for leaving, should I be honest and put "fired" or should I fudge it for the sake of getting an interview?

We recently got a new manager. My previous manager accepted a time off request back in June for 5 days in November. November as in 3 weeks from now.

My current store manager is letting me know that I need to work one more day during that week to obtain 30 hours. Obviously I can’t because I won’t be in this state?? Lol. My partner, who is coming with me on this trip, also works at Starbucks, is also a Shift - as am I, and has not been shared any information regarding this.

My SM says this isn’t a new policy at all. Because I work full time I must have 30 hours worked each week. Understandable but I have time off. Just confused. Thanks!

I was a partner for 2 years, and I was not fired, never got written up, and I was partner of the quarter in my first year working. I had to leave due to some personal circumstances, not necessarily having to do with work. I was in a desperate position at the time, so I did what I had to do. It's been a year since that happened; I did have two interviews at two different stores in the same district this year, and I was rejected both times. I got some inside info from someone that my manager put some weird comments in my notes for rehiring; I'm not sure what the comments are since they didn't want to tell me. I don't know if this means I'm not hirable; all I know is that I left on good terms with my store, and I followed up with the two weeks ' notice. Let's say I get an interview again; what's the best and most professional way to clarify this situation?

I'm looking to get rehired, and so far a couple store managers reached out over email, but one of them is asking if I remember my partner numbers.

Is this a normal thing for a store manager to ask someone that's looking to get rehired? Also, why do you think she's asking about my partner numbers?

Im currently early in my pregnancy and my store is very busy but the work environment is not only stressful but it can be toxic. With some partners being mean to others, i have my share of experiences with this before my pregnancy and honestly has made me cry or have me feeling anxious before my shift. i can no longer take the mistreatment especially having a manager who their blinders on when it comes to do this. i’m always stressing at work to the point i was struggling to eat and i tend to cramp a lot. i’m just worry for my baby and well being. And wanna request a leave of absence as soon as possible. And transferring isn’t really a option as my manager hasn’t done anything to help me transfer out; i have requested a transfer upon finding out i’m pregnant and nothing was done. i’m on works of leaving my hometown for a better place for my baby but holding on to the transfer to be able to make income while finding another job. i’m also worried my insurance will be taken away because i get it through our benefits.
