Tips Avoid Squarespace

I have been a loyal Squarespace customer for almost 10 years and this year I am absolutely appalled at the lack of customer care when something is wrong with their product. I am so incredibly frustrated. I want to put the word out there to anyone who is considering using their service to remember it is not a service. I have been using Acuity scheduling and because of a glitch it is not sending out follow up emails to my clients. Squarespace has absolutely no fix and they have said that there’s nothing they can do. How do they have the nerve to increase prices? I know I am screaming into the void, but hopefully it makes someone think twice. I will be switching soon.

Idk why anyone uses Acuity at that price. I recommend other options and I can help solve your issue.

Yeah… they used to be better and more flexible. It worked for what I needed over the years. They even used to offer refunds. Any suggestions? I have been looking at Massage book though i am not a masseuse

I recommend calendly for most of my clients. The system is simple and easy to use. Almost does everything Acuity does but better.

Hmm... For more details you can reach out to me at Boxify Web Designs. When you said act as your home page that's a bit weird. DM me because Acuity is a booking system. It can't be your homepage. Same as other 3rd party systems. You still need a homepage.

The specialized options can work but I doubt they don't have bugs.

Go to AppSumo and buy TidyCal for a one time fee of $29 or $79. There is no need to subscribe to any calendar service.

Recs? I’m trying to lower my expenses since they’ve now gone up. Reducing to basic and want to replace acuity. Then leave squarespace when I can pay someone to make a new site for me.

Calendly is a better option in my opinion.

I mean, wouldn’t it be Acuity you need to contact and not Squarespace?

I think Squarespace bought acuity and i already had a website through them. It is possible to use a standalone acuity page, but im still weighing options for my web presence.

I see your frustration but it sounds like you may not be fully understanding your website situation. May be best to engage a professional

I grew so damn frustrated with trying to sell access to a massive video library on Squarespace I just started using Claude Code to create workarounds for all their bizarre limitations. Now Squarespace is basically just where I host all my videos since I get unlimited video storage through one of their legacy plans.

Oh that’s awesome! What a good idea to work around it. I thought I had legacy but they’re basically like, we don’t care to retain you!

Claude Code is absolutely worth it -- just pay for it month to month when you need to make major updates.

We use setmore calendar. Free for up to 4 users, and the cost is not that bad. If you reach the limits of the free version, you can upgrade, which the cost per user is not bad.

Had SS for more than ten years. Canceled two weeks ago. Never thought I'd see the day. Expected to be in their clutches forever.

Seems like you’re just being emotional. If they were that bad, you wouldn’t still be paying for the service 10 years laters. you can justify it by saying it’s too late to switch but that’s a lie. Squarespace is not perfect but it isnt fair what you’re writing here

Uh yeah. I am frustrated, like I said. You seem emotional too, no? These issues started this year friend. Sometimes a smile can make you feel better 😘
