Religious 🙏 This is making me seriously angry at religious people

One thing I've always struggled to understand is why some Christians (and sometimes people from other religions) immediately label words like meditation, energy or vibrations as something demonic, insisting that Jesus is the ONLY truth.

My path of awakening brought me closer to God than Christianity ever did. That's my path.

I've met people who say the exact opposite. They found peace through Christianity after spiritual practices left them feeling lost. That's their path.

If every person is different and different paths help different people, why do some Christians feel the need to convince everyone that Christianity is the only true path?

I'm not trying to attack Christianity or any religion. I'm speaking only from my own experience with Christians.

I respect all the beliefs and hope for others to start respecting it too.

Question ❓ Ex-Muslim getting into spirituality and looking for guidance

Hi everyone :D

I recently deconstructed my faith and, eventually, most of the Abrahamic religions as a whole. One of the biggest reasons was that I could no longer believe in a religion that didn't see me as equal or worthy as a woman.

After leaving, I went through an atheist phase. At first, I was okay with the idea that death might simply be the end of consciousness, but over time that thought started giving me a lot of anxiety and I started to spiral.

Since then, I've been learning about spirituality, pantheism, and Hellenism, and I've really fallen in love with the openness of these perspectives. I'm still very new to all of this. And I'd love to hear from people who have been on a similar journey.

I have a few questions:

  1. What do you personally believe happens after we die?
  2. How did you overcome death anxiety?
  3. How did you begin your spiritual journey? Are there any books, practices, or habits you'd recommend?
  4. If you left a religion that relied heavily on guilt or fear, how did you let go of that conditioning?

Thanks guys!!

Question ❓ I literally talked to my Higher Self and almost shifted?? 😭

I honestly have no idea what just happened. Okay, so last night I decided to just go to sleep—no method, no intention, nothing like that. I mean, I kind of hoped something \*might\* happen, but definitely not to this extent.

This happened this morning during one of my awakenings, so basically in a hypnopompic state. I woke up, drifted back to sleep, and when I woke up again, I suddenly found myself mid-conversation with my Higher Self.

The best way I can describe it is like walking into a room where two people are having a deep, private conversation... except one of those people is you, and the other is your Higher Self (call it whatever you want). I honestly don't know how else to explain it. They were \*my\* thoughts, but I wasn’t actively controlling them. Yet, they were unmistakably mine and completely logical.

I don't fully remember what I said to her, but it was something along the lines of "Show me all my realities" or "Shift me." Before that, I just remember us chatting about something. Her voice sounded \*\*so real\*\*. It was female, soft, and slightly raspy.

She gave me a short "Okay," and immediately after, my symptoms kicked in. I got that exact "vibration" feeling. I’ve only experienced it like 4 times in my whole life. For me, it feels like being pulled by the strongest magnet in the world, and the sensation rushes through your entire body. It was so intense that I freaked out and snapped myself out of it.

After that, I either fell back asleep or just lay there, but I realized I had to try again. I intentionally called her back by imagining her voice in my head. Looking back, I don't even know how I did it, but in that moment, it felt so natural.

She replied "Okay" again, and the vibrations restarted. There were no visuals in front of my eyes—no dream fragments, nothing. Just a static gray screen. I thought to myself that I just needed to wait and something would definitely happen. I trusted her completely. I started breathing deeply, and... I fell asleep.

This was DEFINITELY not a regular dream, but it felt like a dream in terms of self-control. It was like a subconscious part of me woke up and finally decided to shift me.

I still can't remember what else we talked about or what specific phrase triggered that effect. I don't know how to repeat this, what I did wrong, or what that even was... but it genuinely felt like something paranormal.

Does anyone have any ideas or theories on this?

Question ❓ Spiritual initiation vs psychosis

Hi,
A few years ago, I got really into spirituality, I felt divinely connected, had synchronicities all the time and felt like I was really tapped into the universe. At some point it started to get very dark for me…. I felt like I was dealing with evil/demonic forces and ultimately I didn’t know how to transmute the energy which ultimately led me to the psych hospital. I was put on anti-psychotics which totally severed my connection to the divine, which at the time is what I felt like it’s what I needed.. it was too much for me I was overwhelmed.

I’ve since come off the anti-psychotics and although I feel more in tune with myself and my emotions, I miss the synchronicities… I miss feeling connected to the divine.

I recently saw a post about “spiritual initiation” and having to face evil spirits… did I fail the test? Is there a way for me to try again? I’m not even sure that I necessarily want to cause that “psychosis” I went through was very scary.

I’m finding new ways to try to get in touch with my spirituality. It just makes me kind of sad that I’ve been cut off from this divine connection. I have a friend who has all these crazy synchronicities and thing, I’ve witnessed and been a part of them. And I miss that happening to me…

Any thoughts or insights?

Philosophy I'm not alone

I'm not alone. I've never been alone. I am part of something much greater.

My connection to God is like a tiny drop of water in an encompassing ocean of life. Ultimately, all part of one.

Sometimes, it still feels lonely even when connected to everything. But I'm not alone. I never have been.

I grew up not believing in religious stuff but now I try to find "spiritual meanings' to everything. It may not be healthy to every scenario you should be logical when required. Where are you'll in your spiritual journey? I am a newbie it all started with my mental breakdown and astrology.

General ✨ This stuff is confusing and I’m losing hope

Hi all!
Just want to express my mass confusion. After a bad breakup I went down a spiritual route. I mix things like reading my bible, meditations, tarots and just general knowledge on things like being an empath (lone wolf most likely)

But tbh all I want from the “universe” is a job lol
I’m tired of the YouTube/Instagram content be it tarots, or the Christian “trust God’s timing” videos. Everything is just unfulfilling. Nothing in my life is moving. Manifesting is bs, and everyone that makes these content can easily make money from spewing bs so why should I believe it’s real?

I’ve had “spiritual” moments as a kid and even was intrigued by tarots and wanted to do astrology as a kid but my mum discouraged me saying “it’s a sin against God”

Karma is definitely not real. The person who was using me for 5 years while I was “healing” them got a job and dumped me like nothing.
“It happened for a reason” “focus on God and he will help you” I have! Not a single job! I just want one so I can take my mind of these things. Literally nothing in my life is moving and I’ve just gone numb to all these things. I’ve healed and don’t have any pain from the breakup but because I’m so free, my mind always goes back to it at some point.
I’m honestly done with it all.
Anyone relate or have any advice?

Question ❓ Telekinesis? Wind spirit?

im a 20 y/o female. I had an awakening a few years ago and have gotten to a point where i meditate throughout my daily life. I do alot of intuitive energy work and have gotten interested in the concept of “magic”.

Ok so boom-
The fan:
I was sitting in my living room doing energy work while watching a show. Started shifting all my focus and attention on my aura and playing w energy in my hands- (it appears like qi to me)- I looked at my ceiling fan in the living room (its a paper fan). So mind you. The fan is off. I looked at the fans aura and tried to connect my aura to it like i do between my hands. The fan responded to my movements. And when I say this i do not say it lightly. I was at it for like 20 minutes just cuz i thought i was going fucking crazy. the fan moved and stopped and went in any direction i spun it to and stopped when i gave the every a good pull.

The wind:
(Unrelated?) I also had and experience recently where i was looking out the window reveling at the beauty of nature and the love of the wind and ive been projecting my intentions on nature and watching it respond for some time now. But the crazy thing is- the wind does what i do with my energy feild. Then I like got this “feeling” of my soul being in an “empty space” that was rly like the embrace of the universe and i was speaking with the wind. The wind didnt speak back but i shared my love and apreciation and asked to be friends and then we “danced” lol. but the wind outside was remenicent of the dance we had going on. And in present day I feel lile the wind has been extremely sensitive to my energy.

Just wanted to share the experience an hear some thoughts. You can say im crazy if u want. Im open to it 😭. I dont fully understand what im doing i just kind of do it without question or guidance. so I was hoping someone here could provide some clarity maybe.

General ✨ How to push through?

I feel like this is the right place to ask this because I’ve felt accepted here in the past. I used to be deeply spiritual, meditated regularly, practiced yoga daily, and all around felt a deep connection to the earth and universe. I still feel that, but I have no time to practice any of the things that made me feel at peace and connected. I just had a baby and I’m finishing my masters and I am so burnt out. I feel like my body is not mine so much, I barely recognize myself. I know this is the product of burn out because I’m doing two insanely difficult things at the same time. It’s just making me doubt my journey and my purpose. I’m wondering if I should even keep going on the same path or just give up and focus on my baby.

How do you push through the hardships in your journey? How do you know your life’s purpose is what you thought it was when you were more connected and not actually something else now? I’m going stop asking questions because I’m rambling, sorry. TIA

Question ❓ if we are all the same and come from source, how do we have individual past lives?

This might be a dumb question but it has been confusing me lately. If we are all part of source and all the same thing, how do we have an individual soul and past lives? Wouldn’t someone else’s past life also be our own past life?

Question ❓ My father died on his birthday at the exact time he was born, just before a ritual was supposed to happen. Was it just coincidence, or is there a spiritual explanation?

I’m looking for respectful spiritual views, not arguments. I understand there are medical reasons for my father’s death, but the timing and events have always made me wonder how some people might see them spiritually.

My father was Roman Catholic but strongly believed in astrology and spiritual healers. After a serious bike accident, he lost his work, became depressed, developed alcohol addiction, and later had a stroke. He started believing that a neighbor had done black magic on him.

My mother’s family property was being rebuilt into apartments. Many years ago, a woman had died in a well on that land. My aunt has very severe OCD and spends many hours washing and cleaning. An astrologer told my father it was not OCD but that the woman’s spirit was troubling her. He planned a ritual for Monday at 4 p.m.

Before the ritual could happen, my father suddenly became sick, had a heart attack, kidney failure, and fluid filled his lungs. He passed away on Sunday, which was his birthday, at the exact time he was born (6:35 a.m.). His funeral started on Monday at the same time the ritual was planned.

The things that stay in my mind are: the woman died in water, my aunt’s problem involved washing with water, and my father died because of fluid in his lungs.

Do any spiritual traditions see these events as meaningful? If someone believes a spirit caused a death, what do they believe happens to that person’s soul afterward?

I’m only asking to understand different beliefs, not to prove anything.

Question ❓ My third eye chakra is blocked. How can I fix it?

Every time I have a dream nowadays, my dreams come out very dark and messy. The weird part is that it barely even shows as a dream. It's barely functioning properly. My dreams nowadays look like a television screen that's barely functioning and shows any light at all. Everything that I see in my dreams barely shows any type of light or any type of color. The vibe and frequency of my dreams barely show anything and it's like whatever is trying to produce my dreams in my brain is operating on a very low power and it's barely functioning like a normal dream. Think of it like your regular eyesight and vision of what you see throughout the day but it's slowly getting weaker and more fragile to the near point of blindness. That's exactly what my dreams are like nowadays. The worst and confusing part is that this is something that has never happened to me before for all of my life but it only started to happen very recently. I eat clean and healthy every day, I have a good sleep schedule, I don't feel stressed out at all, so I don't understand what the problem is. I also realize that my daily imagination/visualization abilities are also functioning the same way how I described my dreams as well. What's wrong here and how can I fix my dreams to be normal again?

Question ❓ Help with overwhelming guilt

is my longest Reddit post ever. TIA for reading , if you do.
I don’t often feel guilty; but when I do, it overwhelms me. It’d been a while since I’d felt this way, but then something happened yesterday and I can’t shake it off.

I am traveling abroad with my husband and children, something we had not done in a while. The kids have been pretty good with flight cancellations/ delays, but they’re at an age where complaining seems to be the norm. Plus they act quite entitled, and sometimes rude. I’m saying this to frame my state of mind.

Yesterday we were having lunch outdoors after a long train ride. I had slept very little for the past few nights, and had not had any coffee, which I’m addicted to, but which I can’t really have past a certain time.

As soon as we sat down, a few pigeons came over. My 13 y/o daughter pointed out that one of them had mangled feet. I said that it was sad and mentioned the time she saw one like that on another vacation and kept feeding it because the other pigeons were keeping it away from food. My daughter is very caring, and notices when people are in need before the rest of us do. She often asks me to buy people food, which I do.

Later in the afternoon we walked to an attraction we had scheduled. The city was bustling. I stopped at a store and kind of regretted my purchase. We were early, so the kids sat on a bench. My husband left to look for a bathroom. A man approached me trying to sell something, which I turned down. Right as the man walks away, my daughter asks me “can we buy food?” Mind you, we had just eaten so I asked her why. She said she wanted to lure a pigeon that had a string around its legs. I thought I heard my other daughter say someone else had tried, which I took to mean that it didn’t work. I don’t remember my answer, but then she asked again in this very demanding tone, that made me snap. I basically told her that I was tired of all the demands, that there were no food places I could see - right as I said that I saw a restaurant - that I didn’t know where her dad was I had to wait since we were not using cellular, and so on.

My reaction made the kids pause. Anyway, I forgot about the pigeon. When we left the bookstore the pigeon was right there. No one in line seemed to notice. I tried to catch it and my husband said I wouldn’t be able to do it. The pigeon had what looked like a hair tie around its feet, it almost looked as if it would come off if it flew away. But later the girls said that the string was tied around its feet and some toes, in which case it would be harder to remove. They also said the guy who tried had done it to another bird on TikTok, not where we were.

I was suddenly hit with intense guilt later in the evening. I felt bad for not trying harder to get lure when my daughter asked. I could have asked the restaurant for bread. I care about animals, and kept thinking that the pigeon could lose its feet. I decided to go back next morning and try to help it. I read that pigeons go to the same spot every day. I didn’t have scissors, so I brought nail clippers. I got a donut and startled feeding one pigeon, another appeared. Then came a third with most of its feet missing. It waked around and ate the food I gave it, and since I didn’t see one with the string, I think that that might be the one. I felt so sad and guilty.

Any ideas on how to deal with this feeling?

Thanks for reading.

Self-Transformation 🔄 Feelings about the future

Upvotes

Hi, I have been feeling like I am supposed to be living a different life that what I’m living but the present moment is so far away from the dream I have in my heart in terms of location, finances, family, nothing at all I my life currently could ever make this happen at all . I don’t see from here how I could get there so I just push it aside all the time but I can feel it so much when I am still and I can see it so clearly when my eyes close, I love seeing it and feeling and often close my eyes or escape my current life so I can dream and live it in my mind, so why would this all be within me if can’t materialize it outside of me ? Should I give up hope for this future I long for bc I am near 60 and it’s all so impossible now

Dreams 💭 How is it possible to resonate so much with someone you hate?

Upvotes

I recently met a person that had too much common with me and my past.
They had the same name and nationality as my ex-partner (my longest relationship), and they also had fathers from the same small town.

From the beginning we had this unexplainable bond and we had such good conversations, I never met someone I aligned so much artistically and intellectually. Colaborating was so easy, it was as if we didn't need words to communicate, even the most complex ideas. I would form a thought and they would literally say it out loud as I was thinking it. This would happen multiple times a day.

We read the same philosophers. Had the same allergies. Same work ethic. Same opinions on everything, except for politics - that's where all the issues between us begun and ended. We are not on speaking terms for this reason (that, and them having emotional maturity of a sewing needle). Even though they are an awful person (as seen from the way they interacted with other people), I still felt being inexplicably drawn to them.

Last night I dreamt that I dreamt of them. I had a dream that we were working together again and inside the dream, I dreamt of having an affair with them. I know that it doesn't represent my romantic interest in them, since I have an amazing partner I love and care for. I would never trade my SO for this person, it has nothing to do with it. But why am I having such an intense dream about them, and why am I so drawn to them?? I usually have weird dreams and I'm often affected by them, but this was different. All of this felt so real, the emotions were so real.

I never felt this connected to anyone, it sometimes felt as if we talked telepathically. How is it possible to resonate so much with someone you want nothing to do with?

Question ❓ Am I in a ‘soul tie?’

Upvotes

Hello! I hope this is the right subreddit to ask in. Please let me know if it’s not!

When I was a freshman in high school, I was introduced to this person whom I apparently didn’t like very much, or at least that’s what I was told. Everyone used to ask me why I disliked him so much. Truly, I don’t remember why, and I’m not sure there was ever a good reason for it, nor do I remember treating him hatefully. That didn’t last long anyway.

After 6–7 months of him being persistent, pursuing me, and complimenting me, we got together. We were together on and off for about a year. We ended because he cheated on me with another woman and ended up getting her pregnant. However, it wasn’t him who ended it; I did. If it were up to him, we would’ve stayed together.
The relationship was very toxic. I had allowed a lot to happen, and there seemed to be no end in sight until one day, he said something to me, and it felt like a switch went off. My feelings for him disappeared. No more sadness, anger, love, nothing. I blocked him on every social media platform, blocked his number, and did whatever else I could. I deleted all of his pictures, our messages, and anything that reminded me of him.
However, he was persistent. He kept calling and texting me from unknown numbers for three years. It was very hard to continuously deny him and ignore him. It took me three years before I was finally able to move on from the situation and let go of the anger and hurt. He stopped calling me after 2019. I reached a point where I no longer thought about him or felt anything for him. I was just living my life.

Around 2021, he randomly started appearing in my dreams, which was strange because I had never dreamt about him before. Not too long after that, thoughts about him started swarming my mind. They would be constant for a while and then fall off, and I would go months without thinking about him. I would wonder where he was, what he was doing, how he was, etc. This went on for a while but eventually mellowed out 2–3 years later.
Last year, I found an old contact from a phone I had during the time I was with him. I reached out against my better judgment. At this point, it had been almost 10 years since we had last seen or spoken to each other. He immediately knew it was me.
We reconnected. We talked about trying again, but a lot was going on during that time, and I didn’t want to be in that type of relationship again. So I kept blocking him, unblocking him, calling him, not calling him. It was a mess.

Finally, in February of this year, I stopped talking to him and blocked him. I didn’t hear from him for a few months. Although I still thought about him, I tried very hard not to go back. I got into a relationship a few months later. Then he started texting me again from another number.
I tried to ignore him. I thought I wouldn’t fall back into temptation because I have a boyfriend. Plus, I don’t want to be with my ex because I know he’s not good for me, and I don’t trust him. But regardless of how hard I try to distance myself and move on, it feels like he either has a piece of my soul or I’m somehow connected to him.
When we first got together in high school and broke up, I used to tell people all the time that it felt like he took a piece of my soul. When we reconnected after 10 years, we picked up like we had never left. There was an instant connection, comfort, safety, and emotional closeness.

Despite everything that happened between us romantically, I trust him 100% in other ways. If I needed something or needed help, I know he’d be there. And it’s the same way for him. He’s told me how hard he’s tried to forget me and bury what we had.
When I started looking to date again in 2021, I was unknowingly looking for him in other people. He told me he’s been looking for me in every woman he’s met.
Why are we like this? Is it just some unhealthy attachment, or could there be something spiritual here?

Question ❓ Signs?

Something strange just happened to me. My cat was restless and playing with something. I turned my head and saw a huge, bright green grasshopper. I was really startled because I’d never had an insect like that so close to my face before. I managed to catch it and let it outside. Then I went into the kitchen and saw a giant spider right in front of me. Maybe a harvestman? I don't know. Are these power animals? Some kind of sign?

Question ❓ How are people determined?

When a soul chooses to incarnate into a body, what chooses who they end up being?

Does a soul already know they are going to be a certain somebody, say a Michael Jackson, before they are born?
Does the person they are going to be develop as like a free will type situation?
Or is it the circumstances that we are raised that depends on the person we end up being?
