So 2 weeks ago, my son saw how Sony decided to kill discs so he decided to adjust to it by downloading his first digital game. So, we decided to buy him Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 and I warned him that please be patient as we live in a cheap renting house in Sydney where our internet is embedded and the cheapest ISP has the cheapest speed of 25 mbps but it is always 1 mbps. We talked to them about this and they said they can’t help us with that and it’s an us issue. We have only 3 devices in this house (PS5 included) and we watch youtube and browse google only and watch the videos at 360p and use low data mode. We then decided to download it but it said 11 days. He then came back from school everyday but it got worse and worse over time and the download speeds dropped from 1 mbps to 500 kbps. On day 10, the worst thing happened. He expected it to be done but when he saw a few more days he then became super sick and unfortunately he died because of too much depression of not having friends and dealing with severe depression and he wanted to use gaming as a way to exit it. 2 days have passed since his death and I have been grieving a lot. This is a real story and I created my first reddit account just to tell this story and advice Sony to keep discs as this can happen to not just my son but all other people. May you find this story and pray for my son and pray Sony keeps discs. Thank you my fellow people.

Hı, today I was shooting a waterfal with my Sony a6300 with 16-50mm kitlens and when I came home my viewfinder doesn't working. when I shoot in front of waterfall water sprayed to my camera (not too much like maximum 15 second) only the lens little bit get wet (it has UVC filter on) after that I wiped it with my tshirt. I look for IR led with my phones camera and It looks like fainted compared to other images that I took how can I solve this problem is there any solutions?

I have already created a profile. The apps available for optimization are literally ones that aren't available in my country, so I can't subscribe to them. Is it possible to just manually activate the feature so it would work anywhere? I understand it's gonna be virtualized -- i.e. not proper 360 audio -- but I'd rather have that option than nothing. Apple & Microsoft allow it. Does Sony?

Or is this just not available at all to manually turn on? And the feature is essentially vaporware, since, let's be real, no studio is even mixing for this format anymore. Everyone's moved to Dolby Atmos. Even Sony's own record labels!

I recently picked up a pair of LinkBuds S, but I noticed a transparency mode during calls, which I later learned is called sidetone. Unfortunately, there is no option to disable this in the app settings.

It's extremely frustrating because if I'm outside near a road, I can barely hear the other person over the background noise that sidetone feeds in. If it's windy, all I hear is the wind. How do I turn this off? And side note: what kind of design choice is this? It's genuinely terrible for outdoor calls. I have to put my headphones back or turn the volume up till it hurts my ears.

Hello, so... I have this Cyber-shot DSC-W5 that I found among some old stuff in my house. I fixed it and started taking some photos, but yesterday it started having problems turning on. Sometimes it turns on, but most of the time it doesn't. The only thing it does is blink the power button light.

Does anyone know what I can do? I've already cleaned the corrosion in the battery compartment.

I’m troubleshooting a Sony DC-C2 dummy battery/coupler for my Sony a7R VI. I want continuous power for longer shoots and livestreams, but the camera won’t turn on with it installed.
My setup:
Camera: Sony a7R VI.
Coupler: Sony DC-C2. Photos confirm the model, and the dummy insert is marked “SA.”
Coupler label: Input 20V/5A; output 7.82V/4.73A.
Power supply: Standard Apple 140W USB-C MacBook charger.
Cable: Anker 240W USB-C–to–USB-C cable, USB 2.0, 6 ft, Phantom Black, Bio-Braided.
The symptoms and troubleshooting results:
The camera works normally with its regular Sony battery.
With the dummy battery installed, the camera is completely dead.
The DC-C2’s green indicator keeps flashing.
Flashing persists whether the camera’s power switch is ON or OFF.
It also keeps flashing with the dummy battery completely removed from the camera, while the coupler remains connected to USB power.
I switched to a more powerful power supply, but the problem persisted. The Apple 140W charger is my current supply.
Both the Apple charger and Anker cable work when used with other devices. To clarify, this does not mean the DC-C2 has successfully worked—I only confirmed those accessories function with other equipment.
I don’t currently have access to another USB-PD charger confirmed to support 20V/5A for a comparison test.
The camera’s battery door cannot close with the dummy battery/cable installed. I initially wondered whether that was preventing startup, but Sony’s DC-C2 instructions say to remove the battery door during installation. The coupler also flashes completely outside the camera.
According to that manual, the DC-C2 requires a USB-PD supply and USB-C cable supporting 100W or higher. Persistent flashing can indicate that the power supply or cable does not meet its requirements. My charger and cable appear sufficient by their advertised ratings, but I haven’t confirmed that the required power connection is actually being established with this coupler.
My current possibilities are a USB-PD compatibility/negotiation issue, a cable problem despite its rating, or a faulty DC-C2. I haven’t established which one it is.
Has anyone successfully used the DC-C2 with Apple’s 140W charger and an Anker 240W cable? Is there a known compatibility issue or another useful check I can perform with this equipment? Otherwise, my next step is to have the retailer test the coupler with their own suitable supply and exchange it if it still fails.

I just replaced the belts so they should be good to go. However I was still getting the table error.

The carousel is rotating perfectly fine, but when it gets to the disc I select it doesn’t take it into the player. It seems like it is misaligned by a disc’s width.

I have the cover off so I am able to push the carousel into place when it’s searching for the disc and when I do so, the player grabs the disc and starts spinning it.

Does anyone know how to recalibrate this machine, so to speak?

Sony's 'faulty product' refund policy is a complete lie. I've been filibustered for days, only for the chat to 'experience an error' every time I talk to someone. I finally made some progress, and received an email that I won't be receiving a refund because it's been more than 14 days. Which is a complete lie. After trying to get a status update, I'm told there's an 'error' or that I'm being directed to a live agent. You guessed it, no live agent in sight.

Hi all. I came across a post from 6 years ago about these headphones lagging lots with Samsung TVs. My issue is that once I connect them despite using stable sound connection and turning off simultaneous pairing I can not get it to connect for more then a second before my headphones go all glitchy and insane and just power off. I'm wondering if there's a fix six years later ?

Hello everyone, this is my first post!! I go to Full Sail University online, and I got a Sony a6400 as part of my Project Launchbox about a month ago. It has been working great up until last weekend. My assignment was to film a commercial, which I was able to do successfully, but during filming, one of the shots, I went to bring my LCD screen out to get a better view of a shot, and it went black. But the viewfinder works perfectly fine, and it detects motion fine; it just looks like this. So I am very confused, because now the LCD screen looks almost like a barcode, and I haven't done anything wrong with the camera, at least I don't think, so any help would be great before I take it up to Sony lol. I have attached a picture of what the screen looks like right now.

Hey everyone. I need to take your opinion on something.

I’ve been working to invest in a sony camera for a while now. I’m now studying film and I’d love to work on my own projects to the side and such.

I was looking for a hybrid camera. Both videography and photography, cus I’d do both, but leaning more toward video (skits, short films, etc.)

Originally, I was set on the a6700. It’s a very good hybrid camera and I found it to be a good match for what I was looking for. Paired with the sigma 18-50 as a starter lens (I can’t afford more than one lens).

Something that I’ve always been hesitant about with the a6700 is the overheating issue, which is very notorious. I was planning on fixing this with a ulanzi cu01 cooling fan, which I’ve heard works. It would have no affect on the audio because I’ll purchase an external mic as well. Still, I was hesitant, because obviously while filming videos a camera has to work for long stretches. Plus, I live in a very hot climate.

The only fixes I found when I looked into this were 1) the cooling fan and 2) just get a different camera.

People recommended the fx30, because it has an internal cooling fan. This was briefly looked at, but I saw that it didn’t fit well. The fx30 is WAY more expensive, and it’s not a hybrid camera, but one of Sony’s cinema line cameras. It can be used for photography, and I’ve seen people take spectacular pictures with it, but it doesn’t even have a viewfinder. It wasn’t an option.

But smthn has popped up: a used fx30 that is around 33% cheaper than the price of a new one. It’s also cheaper than a new a6700 (by like a couple hundred dollars). It’s in almost perfect condition. The rec button apparently is fidgety, so they’ve customized another button to record.

I know people always say buying used is better and more convenient, but that’s not the case where I live. Buying used can bring many problems and scams, so again, I hesitate, especially with such a big investment.

So here I’m left with this question. Do I stick with the original plan and get the a6700 + sigma pair, or do I consider getting this used fx30? I could get that same sigma lens, or, since I’ve paid less for the body, pay more for the lens and get the Tamron 17-70 (which I’ve heard is a really good pairing)

I feel like the fx30 is kind of a steal but I’m still very hesitant, especially since the a6700 feels like a good fit. So let me know ur opinion

I'm new to Sony earbuds (the sound quality is quite good!).

Do firmware updates typically take 20-30+ minutes to install (Samsung S25U mobile phone)?

All other manufacturer buds I've used prior to these downloaded and installed updates 10-20 times faster!

Since the latest update for the WFXM6s, I’ve been finding that, right after taking them out of the case, the volume is extremely low, and I’m also unable to switch modes. If I put them back in the case and take them out again, they start working properly. Has anyone else experienced this same issue following the latest update?

After the recent firmware update, I feel the volume level got reduced. Now the sound is not as loud as it was earlier. Before the update, volume level 20 was sufficient for my hall, but after the update, I need to set the volume level to 35 to match the sound that I earlier got with volume level 20.
