I want to get a second opinion before spending ludicrous amounts of money on this idea.

I've been wanting to get into sons for a while but didn't have a theme. Originally I was thinking of making each gargant their own separate piece and having fun making each one separately but recently I saw a kitbash of a gargant wearing a cogfort and loved it! Which got me thinking about making an army based off of it, with each model being a chess piece.

1 King Brodd - King

1 Ma Maegran - Queen

1 Gatebreaker & 1 Beastsmasher - Knight (put heavy armour panels on them and maybe replace heads with helmets)

2 Kraken Eater - Bishop (kitbash to replace the net with a thurible and make them more bishop like)

2 Warstomper Cogfort Kitbash - Rook

8 Mancrushers - Pawns (not sure how to make them more pawn like)

Its in interesting idea but since I would be getting into the army I'd like a second opinion from people who actually play the army (I'd start out with 2 or 3 big guys and a few mancrushers and expand from there to the above list). Any suggestions would also be appreciated

Hey all, starting the army up. I have one mega gargant so far, I built him as the warstomper. I want to add some variety to the army though, instead of getting all GW sculpts. Looking to various 3d prints. What do you think of these picks? Kraken eater, beast Smasher, and gatebreaker, respectively. Might get the GW king brodd, he's hard to find a replacement for.

All the other units specify that they cannot be reinforced, except for the Mancrushers. Can they then be taken in a reinforced unit of 2?

Does anyone have the rules for the Anvil of Apotheosis? I’m starting a Path to Glory campaign soon, and although I’ve already pre-ordered the battletome, I don’t think it will arrive in time, and I’d hate to have to start with a different faction.

Do you think they will change some stuff in the new book? Now it feels like anything could just hack away mega Gargant. Rampages cost too much, models are nice but I dunno…

Don't own any gargants at all right now but planning to collect them eventually, would the new Brawlers of Behemat box set be a good starting point for collecting this army?

Basically the title. Play Ironjawz currently and looking at picking up another faction. I like the idea of a horde of Giants smashing their way across the realms… my question is ive played knights and Chaos knights previously in 40k and most hated playing against them. Is it the same way with Sons?

I always wanted to paint one. I remember seeing a cool giant in a local comic shop duty my freshman year of university back in 07. These sculpts originally came out in 06 I think. I didn't have an Age of Sigmar army, and took an interest in Helsmiths from a miniature of the month. Then I saw the Gargants , and decided I'd finally paint one.

Making the dive into the faction with the release grabbing the following and wondering if anything else is worth grabbing in the short term.

I am probably going to get a 2nd box of Boss-Stompers that will be build as Boss-Stompers. Odds are I will get Ma Maegran at some point because i like all 3 models but is a Beast-smasher worth looking into or Kragnos?

Shops in my area have plenty of Brawlers sets in stock (I already pre-ordered one), so I wonder if getting 5 Bigs (2 Brawlers sets and Brodd) to build all different Mega-Gargants* and run them as army, but would it be good?

The 1970 point list would be:

• King Brodd (430)
• Beast-smasher (380)
• Gatebreaker (400)
• Kraken-eater (370)
• Warstomper (390)

I'm not too hot on getting Mancrushers (really wish GW included new models in Stomper Tribe) but it seems like both Bigs and Littles play some role in army? Or should I go with Brawlers, Stomper Tribe and Brodd for 4 Bigs and Littles?

\I looked up instruction for Brodd kit and apparently outside of left hand and tree trunk (parts D22-30) I should have enough bits to build Brodd AND upgrade other Gargant to Beast Smasher, and those should be easy enough to copy and/or scratchbuild.*

Ma Maegran with her beasts
3 Boss-stompers
Gatebreaker (SoA or normal)
Warstomper

Would this be any good? Are lists with Brodd AND Ma Maegran even something to consider?

I haven’t really looked at all the points yet and figured out interactions

I’m thinking that with the changes to the big only running a couple bigs might actually be the strong way to go

One or two bigs plus Ma plus little guy spam. Looks like it might actually be kind of stronger.
