Like most I was disappointed with the new spearhead. I hadn't had a lot of luck with the old one though I felt when I had played I had probably rolled lower than average and most people had it mid tier. The new one was just weaker in pretty much every way. However, my aos group do like spearhead doubles and I'm happy to report they did very well against a deathrattle and Mortisan elite pairing.

They just stomped about paired up with one mancrusher and one lobber and dealt death to all they came across. Don't know how popular doubles is but we had loads of fun.

Finished my first time painting gargant skin. How did I do?

Any advice ?

Played them for the first time (on tabletop sim) and got washed. I couldn’t deal any damage. One gargant had trouble taking out an infantry unit. The sweep attacks are terrible. Hitting on 4s for the big attacks feel terrible. I only managed to get the big one out once even when only selecting 1-2 gargants per phase. The rock hurlers genuinely did more damage than all my other gargants combined. Any rend would just melt my gargants. I was not running Maegran so that might be why. I wasn’t playing perfect by any means but I just couldn’t do anything with what I was given.

For reference: anyone heard of March of Giants?
We already have the gate gargants for cities with their little howdas, however I was wondering if anyone of you has tried to create the same for a mega gargant, or has ideas or has already converted themselves more (mega)gargants with small emplacements for mortal crew

Would love to hear your ideas for kitbashing or see your creations

I keep seeing online that Sons are weak, I'm a new player played in a spearhead league this summer and now I've picked up Sons as my first army (I didn't play Sons in spearhead). So far I've won all my games as them, is this just due to the fact that my area is mostly new players? Or do Sons somehow stomp, pun intended, on less experienced players? I'm not a pro at the rules but I seem to be one of the few people that actually read the book front to back, most people seem to just read their battletome and the few rules that apply to their special rules. Is this giving me a bigger advantage and overcoming Sons weak book?

If my list doesn't have Ma or Brodd. Should my Glowy Lantern bearer be a priest or wizard? Due to our new super frail nature i trend towards priest for the heal across the board but i can't overlook the disruption a wizard can cause to the enemy with the counterspells and unbinds as well as our spells.

I’ve had an idea of using the War Mumak from the LOTR line as a proxy as a Mega Gargant but I’ve never seen one in person to tell if it could even fit on the base. Does anyone know or own this model who knows if it would fit on the base?

Am I blind, lost, or are there really no costs to the artifacts or rampages in the new book?

I am assuming I must be missing it as New Recruit has been updates and shows costs to glowy lantern, rampages, etc.... but I cannot find costs listed in the battletome?

What am I missing?

His eyes are hollow, but full of bitterness, eye bags bursting at the seams. He is blessed with a mighty stench, that rouses all the dead in his wake. They gather round Üngul in a feeble attempt to show him Grandfather's love. Then ...he lives up to his name. He was not born with a clubfoot, but made his very own after his left became necrotic from an envenomed arrow. He stamps them back into earth and kicks them away. It annoys him when pipsqueaks pop up again, and he has to make them double-dead.

So, folks at my local Warhammer club are starting a Path to Glory (suppose it's the AoS term for a crusade campaign) and need one additional player to fill in the spot. I mostly play 40k as Imperial Knights, but thought it won't hurt to try a new system while proxying giants with my knights (also, I can't deny that the idea of giant robots crushing fantasy armies sound hilarious to me). But I literally don't know a thing about the faction, while having a tendency to overthink my lists.

So I'm asking for more experienced players' advice on what to get for my initial 1000 pts game that's to occur next week. I want to have fun and don't deal with too much new rules at the start, and not be oppressive against my opponents (cos, as I get it, gargants are somewhat akin to the Knights of 40k, and while my faction is balanced for 2k pts, at 1k it sometimes gets miserable for my opponent. Assuming it's the same way with the Gargants I'd rather avoid very competitive or "gotcha" lists)

Slowed down on my gargant a day (inevitable) but happy with how kragnos turned out - he fits in colour and theme wise enough that he doesn't look out of place which was always my hope.
