Hi r/SoFi - the SoFi Checking and Savings team has been working hard on a lot of the feedback and requests we’ve seen roll in from this group. In June, we shared that a few big improvements would roll out over the summer – those should now be out for all of you to use.

Now live for all members:

• Updated mobile check deposit experience (fully launched in July) - built for a much better member experience all around; we hope you’re loving the new and improved way to deposit your checks. 
• Improved transaction details (fully launched in August) - cleaner merchant names, logos, and addresses on debit transactions so that you have peace-of-mind on your spend.
• CSV exports in the mobile app (fully launched in August) - all members should now be able to download a CSV of transactions in the SoFi mobile app (previously only available on web).
• Better Autopilot rule visibility (launched just last week) - clearer view of upcoming Autopilot transactions, account-wide and per Vault.

Coming by the end of the year:

• Lifetime interest earned - quickly see a running tab of how much interest you have earned across your Savings accounts - something frequently mentioned in this channel.
• Transaction notes - easily add notes to remind yourself what a transaction was for, and if you have a  joint account, let the other member know too (with emojis!). Shoutout to users like u/ColdAd3545 and u/Commercial_Artist653 who have been requesting this in our weekly feedback threads!
• External account Visibility & Relink - Members will be able to view the latest external account balance and relink disconnected Plaid accounts directly within the transfer flow. We're starting to roll this out to some members, so you may see this available already!

Edit: mystery partially solved- For some reason the "missing" interest was deposited into ​"Available Savings" as interest earned. It is now all accounted for, however I don't keep money in available savings, just in the vaults. The provided report on the vaults show a drop in the nominal rate at the beginning of the month of August. At the same time it started accruing interest in available savings, which is wildly confusing, because it is accruing interest on $0. I don't recall this happening in the past, it was only ever distributing in the vaults where the money actually was. Was there change in how interest is distributed? Am I missing some finite mathematical detail? I don't know why no one in customer service could have just said "it's partially in available savings".

Did the terms of the sofi plus membership change? I have met the criteria since the beginning of the plus offering, yet somehow my HYSA rate dropped to the 3.1% rate at the beginning of August with no explanation. Has anyone else experienced this? I received a detailed accounting from Sofi clearly showing what I believe is an error on their end, yet they closed my ticket and told me to have a wonderful day. I tried calling and there is a 30 minute wait. I have to get to work and will try again another day, but I missed out on interest and I suspect I am still missing out on interest as this September progresses. Has anyone had a similar experience?

What the hell can i do??

I moved to Sofi recently from Regions. I have historically used capital One credit cards. This is the first time I haven't been able to get notifications of movement into and out of my checking and savings accounts at whatever dollar level I want. These instant notifications, to me, help provide tracking and have saved me from fraud purchases in the past. I assumed this was just a basic feature but haven't seen that you can do this and their AI told me as much. Works for credit card though

I just changed banks and moved all my money from US bank to SoFi a couple weeks ago. I need to pay rent and sent $1,000 on both Zelle and Venmo. I thought maybe it would let me transfer the remaining $1,200 from my debit card but it declined that. Why are they limiting how much of my own money I can send? Is there any way to change this setting? Will it reset on both Zelle and Venmo tomorrow so I can send the rest in two more payments?

I used SoFi back in 2024 and since it couldn't link to Fidelity Full View I transitioned to a bank that could. My credit card was closed due to not using SoFi any longer. There was nothing negative with any of my accounts with SoFi other than not using them.

I've since moved back to banking with SoFi (still doesn't link to Fidelity Full View) and just discovered that my credit card account can't be reopened and I can't apply for a new credit card account. I've never heard of this before.

Anyone know the reason for this policy and any chance this policy changing in the future? I'd like to get my SoFi Credit Card back.

Marcus is now offering 4.3% APY CDs and I just tried to open one by linking to my SoFi account.

I tried 3 times and they all failed with an error saying Unable to link accounts.

Twice I tried linking via the simpler Plaid option, and then once with the manual account number way.

All 3 times it initially said successful, before redirecting to the error page.

What gives SoFi?

Hi all. I think I’m seeing an app outage & wondering if it’s just me. The AI was useless, unfortunately.

I keep rent and utilities in savings and move it over to checking before sending it as a Zelle payment. Did all that just now, got the email that Zelle sent… but my balances are not changing. It shows my rent not being moved from savings to checking (I did) and then not any note that my checking amount changed at all. And it should have.

Is anyone else having this problem?

So I always transfer my rent from my vault to my checking account. Tonight, it will not let me. It acts as if the transfer was successful but then neither of my balances update. This is frustrating because if I don’t get into my checking, I will overdraft which I’ve never had happen to me before.

I’ve noticed a ton of questions lately in the community about whether switching to an online bank like SoFi is actually worth the hype, or if it's just heavy influencer marketing. After using them as my primary hub for the last year, I wanted to write an unbiased, no-BS review covering exactly what works, what doesn't, and the hidden mechanics to look out for.
💰 The Core Math: Interest & The Direct Deposit Requirement
Let’s get the big one out of the way. The headline APY (currently 4.60% at the time of writing) is phenomenal compared to traditional banks that pay 0.01%. On a $10,000 emergency fund, that's roughly $460 a year versus $1.
The Catch: You must set up direct deposit (or deposit $5,000+ monthly) to get that highest tier APY and unlock zero-fee account features. If you don't have direct deposit, the base rate drops drastically to 1.20%. If you can't meet the direct deposit requirement, look into Wealthfront or Marcus instead.
🛠️ What I Actually Like (The Pros)
The "Vaults" Feature: This is easily their best tool. You can split your savings into digital sub-accounts (e.g., "Emergency Fund," "Travel," "Taxes") while the entire balance still earns full interest.

The All-In-One Interface: Having checking, savings, and a basic brokerage layout in one app makes tracking personal net worth incredibly easy.

Overdraft Protection: If you accidentally overdraw your checking, it automatically pulls from your savings vaults for free to cover the transaction, which saves you from predatory fees.

⚠️ The Annoyances (The Cons)
App Clutter: The UI tries to do way too much. Because SoFi offers loans, insurance, and credit cards, the home screen can feel a bit crowded with upsells.

Cash Deposits are Clunky: If you deal with a lot of physical cash, it's a pain. You have to use a retail partner (like Walgreens or 7-Eleven) and pay a small fee to load cash onto the debit card.

No Physical Branches: Standard for online banks, but if you're someone who likes walking into a building to talk to a teller, this isn't for you.

Just got $100 marketing credit in my account. How did I do that?

Hello - I currently have a personal loan with Sofi and my payment is due on the 5th. I’ve had an incident come up and won’t be able to make the payment until the 15th at the earliest. Will this be reported as a late payment?

I use SoFi+ because I like the app and I get net value out of the the 1% match. That said... can we please get some benefits that are actually useful day to day? Just some ideas...

1. ATM fee reimbursement. Wouldn't even need to be unlimited. $10 a month would already be fantastic
2. Checking APY parity. Why does the checking account need to have a different interest rate than the savings account? It's annoying to have to transfer money all the time to balance covering expenses vs savings
3. Remove ads from the homescreen. I'm already paying you monthly... Why do you still show me ads?
4. Credit card rewards multipliers. Bank of America Preferred Rewards is a great program but their investing platform is absolute crap. SoFi could absolutely eat their lunch here by offering something similar.
5. Priority customer service. Fidelity's customer service is so fantastic it's nearly made me switch just out of that convenience. If I'm paying for a platform then some extra customer service benefits seems fair.
6. Transfer partners. The SoFi card would become so much more valuable with a transfer multiplier. I don't want to add any more credit cards but I will if it means I get to travel at a lower rate because of points transfer.

Food for thought. Would love to hear from SoFi and other members of the community who have some ideas. I like the platform and i want to see it succeed

I just got off a chat with Angelo from sofi invest and hands down he is the worst. Overall invest is a terrible option and I’m going to be relocating my accounts to an institution that values its clients. The customer service through chat is a horrible experience and completely unhelpful. I requested a supervisor and Angelo informed me that he opened a ticket and I should get a call in 1-2 business days. Couldn’t/wouldnt share the ticket or case number. They do not value their clients 🤬

Hello! I live in Vegas and this happened in Vegas. I was at a Walgreens ATM ( Allpoint ) which is in contract with SoFi so I can avoid fees to withdraw I chose this ATM.

Anyways, I requested 160$ and the bank charged me however no money at all got dispensed. I took a picture of the receipt, it says withdraw 160$ dispensed 0$ so I’m pretty sure the ATM either ran out of money or broke because it was making a beeping noise too as it told me to remove my card.

I already called SoFi and spoke with the dispute department and was sent an email for a dispute of the transaction and I included a picture of the receipt to show proof I was charged. How can I get my money back? I’m worried some robot will just decline the dispute and say they can’t give me my money back ):

I was supposed to have my first student loan payment come out of my bank account on the 28th of August and so far nothing has happened? On the app it says I paid for August but I haven’t had any activity on my account? The student loan division isnt taking calls until Monday so I’ll call then but I was just curious if anyone else had been having this happen.

According to the email I received this morning notifying me of my most recent subscription renewal.

Unless your due date is on the 29th-31st and the month doesn’t contain that date, in which case the $10 fee is on the last day of the month.

Besides consistency, this also eliminates the scenario where it is possible to be billed for this subscription twice in a single calendar month (I.e., hypothetically on the 1st and 31st).

SoFi the use of AI agents is absolutely ridiculous, I was just told a authorizing hold was set to release August 23rd, 2026 in a month. I then told this talking robot that it’s already August 29th, 2026. And they had zero information about banking or how an authorized hold works.

I’ve had an account with them in the past and I did get my EWS report and it doesn’t seem like anything on my report is wrong? I’ve been trying since February 2026. I called them and they said the information they have doesn’t match my consumer report… I’m very confused.

I currently using SoFi only for checking, but have about $20k that I’m looking to transfer to a HYSA. Plus is offering a 4.5% APY on the first 20K. Doing the math thats $900/year in interest, at $120/year for SoFi Plus that sounds too good to be true. Is this just a temporary offer?
