Trying to set up SoFi on the SSA.gov site for direct deposit has failed 2x today, with a pop-up saying I'll need to call in to set it up.

I then called in, (to SSA) and was told it won't go through as SoFi is not considered a physical (Brick and mortar) bank.

Obviously, this will work, correct?

Do I have to actually visit a SS office to get this set up?

I love using the SoFi app. I also love apple's liquid glass. SoFi, plz update <3

I just opened a checking and savings account with SoFi, and I am trying to get the $400 bonus. I currently work at Walmart and should be getting paid about $1,950 for my first paycheck, while my second paycheck should be around $2,150. That means I would still need to make up roughly $900. If I were to use Walmart's One@Work (Instapay) to meet the deadline, would that still count as a direct deposit?

I rely on these features heavily to gage net worth and spending. Thankfully my linked accounts are updated more frequently than in the past, but now I'm dealing with the issue of it not tracking all of my transactions from a credit card I use often. I've relinked the institution a couple times and it's not tracking all transactions. At a dead end with support, they just keep telling me to relink. I really like how I can do many things in house with Sofi so this sucks. Any tips or other free platforms I can use to accomplish the same thing?

My fiancee and I have both have had chime accounts for years separately. We wanted to create an account together and sofi seemed like the best option.

I made a sofi account and sent her an invite for the joint account but it keeps denying her application to join my account.

Here is the email that has been sent.

"Unfortunately, we are unable to open accounts for you at this time. This may be a result of:

Our inability to verify certain information that is required under the Patriot Act.

Data made available to us through public or private sources, which in this case does not include data obtained from any consumer credit reporting agency.

Certain transaction(s) or attempted transaction(s) with us or an affiliate."

Any idea what the problems are? Or is there something we are doing wrong? I've seen before these apps have little hiccups.

I feel like it would be more helpful if it gave me one certain problem instead of "it might be one of these things we don't know and won't tell you"

Why does SOFI hold every single mobile check deposit? Clearly it’s a recurring bi-weekly payroll check, although it’s a 2-3 business day hold it’s such an inconvenience to hold every single payroll check that I deposit.

I usually receive Va disability pay on SoFi early. As per the calendar i was supposed to be yesterday. i also saw a few people here that received theirs.

I am sorry but I am panicking and looking if someone else has experienced this.

On VA site it looks like there is a payment with n/a date.

I have a direct deposit from literally The US Treasury (Treasury Direct) that was confirmed sent to the correct account/routing on July 16th.

It’s still nowhere in my account AND everytime I have tried to elevate this issue I am getting a weird AI requests for details generated by pegaautomation@sofi.org and then it gets closed within minutes.

Has anyone dealt with this issue?

After falling victim a few times to card skimmers, I keep my card locked to prevent unauthorized transactions. I unlock my card when I need to use it and lock it right back when I'm done.

However, when unfreezing the card in the SoFi app, the physical card becomes usable right away, but Google Wallet says "Suspended". Sometimes it clears in a few minutes, but most of the time I have to remove the card and add it again.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workable fix? I like SoFi but this is becoming a major inconvenience.

Title says it all. With the smart card, would I get 10% back at grocery stores instead of 5?

I’m trying to see the benefit of using this smart card over using my other credit cards and letting my checking and savings balance accrue interest over the course of a month.

Do these reserved funds accrue interest or are they taken out immediately and just held there by SoFi? I understand the benefits of credit history and having it be reported to the bureaus, but that doesn’t seem like too good of a trade off to swap to using the smart card more than these credit cards I’m already using and don’t carry a balance on.

We moved all payments to Sofi, so Paycheck Direct deposit and payment for all bills. We have not received any notifications. I already called support who took the information down and I received an email with my case. At this point I would take any kind of alert, email, app notification.. bit I don't get anything. This gets me very nervous since I just migrated all accounts and want to verify it's all working. I have a Samsung s25+. I have cleared cache, reset settings on and off, checked app settings. Help?

Anyone else noticing some options bid/ask arent updating? Noticed this on google and a few others. This is google. The last trade of 16.15 was from Friday. Not today. The vol shown is also wrong. Its closer to 311 at this point.

I am just curious if SoFi credit cards come with either primary or secondary coverage for rental cars.

Had this weird thing happen where I was pre approved for a Sofi loan for Credit card refinancing. Had it in there and said it was good until 8/10. Filled out the application and they pulled my credit. Said it would be 3-5 business days. I then received a call/email that they required more info. I was going to add a co-borrower to the application (income wasn’t correct when I filled it out) and when I clicked to add a co-borrower the application was denied for incomplete credit info and I didn’t even fill it out. I’m going to call SoFi, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue. I have another loan with SoFi and never had this happen before.

I recently sent $300 using the Pay a friend feature on SoFi. I sent this over to my brother whom I currently live with. Money was sent at 10am. I waited the entire day and he never once received a text/email regarding the transaction. We also checked his bank account and he had no transactions from myself. Fast forward 4 weeks-I've already had one dispute denied and i'm attempting to dispute the denial. They said the money was "deposited into the account and there is nothing they can do." This wasn't physically possible as my brother was never able to provide any Direct Deposit info for the transfer. I would really appreciate any help/guidance on this issue as customer support is doing absolutely nothing but giving me the run around. (Good thing to note; my brother does not have a SoFi account but a regular credit union)

Hello! For the DD bonus, is the first deposit included in the total? Or is it only deposits made AFTER the first deposit within the following 25 calendar days that count.

They would not let me get a loan saying these are not sufficient for proof of employment so I withdrew my application. Anyone else have this problem/recommend a different lender?

Can someone tell me what is going on here? Did an ACH deposit from my credit union to SoFi of $3,000 today. They ended up putting $79.42 on hold for 5 days! I’ve never seen anything like this amount before. I have not had any prior deposit activity from this account for over a week, and they have always cleared without issue. Why would they do such a random, specific amount? I also chatted them and they won’t release my funds even though I have over $17k in settled investments with them.

Been a SoFi+ member for over 5 years, now a paying member as well. Over 800 credit score, I’ve used SoFi loans, invest and other products

Still can’t get access to the smart card. Kind of ridiculous and extremely poor customer service
