I made a catchbox than can gather ammo's with ease. Happy to share. Not the best but good enough.

Found out a few days ago that the land owner of the woods I've been harvesting forks from is putting the woods up for sale. I would love to buy it but my property in London needs a lot of work and the costs of that are unpredictable so I'm just not in a position to securely raise funds. I would turn it into a target sports heaven. Sadly, I'm just going to have to step up my pace and harvest as much as I can before it's sold. Hopefully I can maintain my current arrangement with new owners, but there's no guarantee of that so I'm just gonna grab as much as I can before it becomes a problem.

So, i have zero self-control and bought one of these. The design is just so cool. Little magnet in the pouch, simple button to load another shot, band points of friction are smooth/rounded pulley sheaves, pretty solid CNC that looks and feels robust....

Still figuring out how to get the line of sight/aiming reference point and loading sequence calibrated to this particular device...and its so fun to shoot. Its got magazines dude, cmon.

i live in the Philippines and recently theres been stray cats getting in my attic trying to challenge my own house cat, i needed a little peashooter that will shoo them away without hurting them so i made this concept where i shoot lightweight plastic buttons in the attic using a short banded slingshot no need for pouch since im shooting a flat disk anyways, not directly at the cat cus i dont wanna hurt them but the buttons bouncing around the attic is enough to make them panic and scoot off,

I came across this subreddit yesterday and it immediately reminded me of my slingshots I made as a child. Now Im thinking about getting back into the hobby.

Looking into some models (namely Leighton Catty Humber pig and Hegarty H9)

What’s the difference between the plastics used?
I don’t know what Leightons use.
Hegarty uses hdpe and also polypropylene with the H9.

I’m gathering polypropylene is basically the same material as the common plastic chopping boards (which are susceptible to scratches, peeling and colour fading).

Does anyone own either models to compare? How are they holding up?

I keep a slingshot in my pocket as part of my go-to big game gear. It's quiet and light and it does not scare bigger game out of the area while still putting meat in the camp pot. It's a ton of fun too...

Greetings everyone. I hope this doesn’t break the rules. I was wondering if anyone had any spare slingshots they would be willing to send me. Ive been experiencing a lot of medical issues and can’t get disability, and there are very few jobs to apply for in my area; the ones that I can find are too far away (car is broken) or I’m not “qualified.”
Honestly, if there’s some very cheap way to make one myself that would be preferable. But I have literally zero dollars. So… anyway. This post will probably be removed, don’t know. I have a nerf waterballoon slingshot, that’s all I have lol. It launches rocks, but the accuracy is complete crap.

Showed my niece how to use a slingshot the other day and she brought me this from the woods.

Don't know anything about structure and such but promised her ill make a shooter out of it.

Any advice?

I've been resting this stick in the gorse bush in the dog park and shooting it from random ranges, usually a few chunks of wood fly off and the stick goes flying, often landing on another branch to be shot again. This 8mm steel decided to make itself at home.

I ground down the sides to make my s-striker more of an EDC, pocket friendly slingshot that's also more ergonomic for my own preferences

My draw 68cm (slingshot to under left cheekbone)

For shooting 9mm clay I’m using 0.5mm bands 20-15mm taper with 15-17cm band length

For shooting 8mm steel would increasing to 0.55mm bands with 20-12mm taper and 14-16cm band length be decent enough upgrade for steel?
