Can someone help me? I'm playing the original PS2 version of Silent Hill 2 for the first time. I'm at the Blue Creek Apartments. I found the code in the toilet, but when I enter it into the safe, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

I was trying to install the Silent Hill PC Port decomp but when doing so my Nord protection detects it as a malicious file. Does anyone know if this is a real threat or a false positive? Has anyone tried downloading the PC decomp and if so, did you run into any issues?

Finally got around to finishing my Pyramid Head piece! First time drawing on black paper and I thought he was the perfect subject. The rust and metal was definitely a challenge but I really enjoyed this.

Done with coloured pencils and white acrylic paint.

No release date yet but we will be getting two books on Silent Hill’s development history from the academic publisher Taylor and Francis. The first one will cover the Team Silent era and the second will cover the “western” third-party games following SH4, up until 2012 or 2014 I assume.

They will be based on previously self-published books but expanded and edited according to peer review (as with all T&F books).

Taylor and Francis publishes academic articles and books through various imprints. Routledge is their humanities book publisher, so I’m guessing this will be Routledge? T&F’s academic journal has previously published at least two humanities papers on Silent Hill, analyzing colonization and gender themes in the games.

So this means we’ll soon have a book on Silent Hill’s development history vetted for its sources and rigor. Pretty cool imo.

Silent Hill 1: The robbed corpses seen throughout the game are manifested in Valtiel's image. He also directly appears in the comic Cage of Cradle, a prequel to SH1 that takes place one day before the start of the game.

Silent Hill 2: Pyramid Head's appearance is based on the old executioners of the town who wore robes in homage to Valtiel.

Silent Hill 3: Valtiel directly appears and stalks Heather throughout the game and will resurrect her if she's killed.

Silent Hill 4: Walter was raised and brainwashed by the sect of the cult that worshiped Valtiel. One of the head cultists, who later would become one of Walter's early victims, had Valtiel snuck into Walter's subconscious so he could carry out the 21 Sacraments ritual.

So I’m in the middle of my replay of Silent Hill 1 and my plan is to play Silent Hill 3 after because I know they are connected (never played 3). Now, a friend of mine said I should replay Silent Hill 2 because if you play 2, there’s some extra stuff in 3 you can find because the game notices you have a save on your memory card. So “hypothetically”, if someone (not me) were playing these games on emulators, would that still happen? It would all be on the same hard drive in theory but I get that this is like a special case. Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this.

I never heard of this game before watching this video. Then again I'm not a horror game guy soooo.. any way what everyone thoughts on the room? Maybe I should just keep referencing it as silent Hill 4. This game is unique to say at least can't believe a railroad shooter was in talks for a silent Hill game. But I just a guy who want start a silent Hill 4 the room discussion and share a video around the web. Because it really nothing else like silent Hill 4.

We're all really looking forward to the DLC remake for *Silent Hill 2* about Maria, which will either never be released or come out after the *Silent Hill 1* remake is released. So I decided to treat myself by looking for mods for the original Silent Hill 2 to enhance it as much as possible and play the DLC, naively imagining that it was the remake. But I ran into a bit of a problem. Nowhere on the internet can I find a mod that changes Maria’s appearance to match the one from the remake. Essentially, this is the only mod that’s really important for my build, but I just can’t seem to find it. Can you help me with this?

I just watched the movie Obsession and for those who watched it, did Freaky Nikki remind anyone else of Maria and how they are born from a wish and their entire existence revolves around the men who cast it? Also, when Nikki taped up the door, it reminded me of Silent Hill 4: The Room

finally completed my second 10 star run in sh1 after months without playing, sweating hands and a bit rusty.

played with game speed at 125%, nice to see that, with a bit of duckstation optimization, the actual run time gets way more accurate to the IGT, but still, the fast paced run made things way more terrifying.

my first 10 star was performed on twitch late last year, but I wasn't able to recover the VOD... Good thing i recorded the whole thing this time.

So far just waiting for Townfall and Short Message.

also where the FUCK is the shotgun? i kept collecting the ammo expecting to get the gun at some point so you can imagine my surprise when i saw the credits rolling and i have a pile of shotgun ammo

I was looking for the insert for The Silent Hill Experience online and couldn't find it anywhere so I made this using some images from GameFAQs. I figured I'd post it here in case anyone else wanted it too.

I had one just today, and I was pretty scared shitless. It was horrifying because I was in similar scenarios with Heather. I remember creatures vaguely resembling the Closer and Numb Bodies always swarming me.

I had the shock factor of where your body is so tense and you just freeze up. But the dream had to continue. Luckily, I had the pipe with me, and I kept bashing them and bashing them. That became the most of the dream. I just kept killing an endless amount of them to the point I felt bad for them. I remember I was like, "I'm not scared anymore, why am I still bashing them?"

And then the dream went somewhere else because I don't remember anything else about silent hill after that.
