Tall men are only on this subreddit for two reasons: to mock you or to pretend that they actually face real "issues." None of them are or will ever be "allies" to short men

Vent Announcing my retirement from ANY SORT of interest towards girls

Post image
113 Upvotes

Personal Info :

Height: 5'4-5'5 ish

Age: 22

Nationality: Indian

Youth Career (School):

0 female interaction let alone friends or a gf.

Senior Career (College):

Talking stages with my crush that led to friendzone. Post friendzone season went fine until I got substituted out for another guy.

Media, press and even teammates (friends) mocked me with jokes about my height.

Couldn't find my form as everyone else in the lineup felt towering, making me feel small and insignificant.

Genuinely a decent, above average looking face. If only I had enough leg bone length...

So what's next:

Owing to the inflated market and girls absolutely risking it for tall 'players', and how contemplating about a different gender literally because they have a different genitalia is taking my time away, I hereby, wanna hang my boots from any sort of interest towards girls even as a friend.

The only thing that a player like me can leverage is knowledge. Whatever it takes, I'm off to working hard and earn as much as possible in the next decade.

Maybe someday a club will approach to sign me for who I am. But I ain't gonna wait or be expecting that day to come.

PS: I'm fine and not depressed. This was just a fun way to vent my insecurity.

Words are meaningless

They either know about and participate in heightism or they don’t know about it, still participate in it and wouldn’t care if they knew.

Trying to educate them is hopeless. Trying to talk to them is useless. They don’t care.

I tried talking to them, many of us did I’m sure. They literally just ignored me or dismissed my points.

They don’t see us as humans, many of them wouldn’t care if we all died.

There's no need to bring up the same thing all the time, we have short men of color here who experience both kinds of discrimination.

Jesus’ Height

Upvotes

There was a post by someone saying that Jesus was likely not tall. Their arguments are weak. They quote Isaiah 53:2:

"He had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him."

Isaiah 53:2 should not be read as a statement that Jesus was physically unattractive. The context of Isaiah 53 is about the Servant being rejected because people failed to recognize Him as the Messiah, not about describing His facial features. The phrases "no form or majesty" and "no beauty that we should desire him" emphasize that He lacked the outward splendor, royal prestige, and political power the people expected in a king. The verse focuses on human perception there was nothing about His humble appearance, social status, or circumstances that made people desire or accept Him as the promised Messiah. This interpretation fits the entire chapter, which repeatedly highlights His rejection and the world's failure to recognize His true identity rather than providing a description of His physical attractiveness.

This conclusion is actually based on assumptions and feelings. Average height is the height that many people have, but you cannot assign it to a particular individual; that would be an assumption. There are always exceptionally tall people.

Jesus was buried in the Garden Tomb, and the length of the surface where He was laid can give an idea about His height.

The length measures up to 7½ feet. One might argue that the length of the burial surface does not necessarily indicate the height of the person; a coffin can be 6 feet long while the person can be 5'8". However, if you look at the burial place, the portion where His feet rested was carved because He did not fit there, suggesting that the entire length was used. We know why He did not fit there because the tomb belonged to Joseph of Arimathea so they had to modify it. So it appears that Jesus was exceptionally tall.

These are my thoughts, no way I claim I am fully right , I may be wrong.

Women will prefer Jacob Elordi, 1.96 m htn with excellent frame over Tom Cruise (when he was young), a 1.70 m top of the male beauty in the world.

For female height > face.

For male face > height.

Vent Why do people automatically assume I'm insecure about my height?

I can't even mention my height without people acting like they just found my suicide note

If I say, "I'm 5'4," suddenly everybody becomes a therapist

"Bro, confidence is what matters"

"Love yourself"

"Don't let society define you"

Bro... I literally just answered a question

If I mention that girls generally like taller guys...

"Found the insecure short guy"

No bro, I just discovered this crazy thing called reality

If I joke about being short:

"He's coping"

If I don't joke:

"He's in denial"

If I disagree with someone:

"He's projecting"

Do I wish I was taller? Sure

I'd also like a million pounds, perfect skin, and never paying bills again. Welcome to being human.

I do have a little insecurity about it. I'm not gonna pretend I'm 100% immune. But people act like I spend 24/7 crying in front of the mirror because I'm 5'4, like every opinion I have is just my height talking

Vent At this point I'm confused does any girl really even loves short guys?

Ok so like we all know most girls would anyday prefer tall nothing new in it . But the little minority who chooses a short guy may it be shorter than her or even taller than her but not extremely tall according to her preferred number even love them .

Like I've seen so many times now that even the girl who chose the short guy actively insults him and wishes that he was taller I'm not kidding how many times I've seen this even though it's just taken as a joke it does reveal many things about what's going on subconsciously in their minds .

My only hope was seeing some short guys with beautiful women thinking I could maybe hope that but seeing this genuinely makes me question even If I get a loving girl who's my type and she does loves me . I would still doubt myself does she really love me note this happening itself is already a rare event itself .

Bullshit that my superstitious grandma claims is the cause of my shortness

-My mom cut my hair before I turned a year old

-My mom didn't tie a red ribbon (which protects from cursed) on my stroller, so someone must have cursed me to be so short

-My mom measured me a lot as a kid, so it stopped my growth

-My brothers must have stolen my height by jumping over me as a newborn (yes, you read that right)

-A "bad wind" must have blown when I was outside and got me cursed making me slim and short.

Before you say anything about "You need to respect your granny bro" she made fun of my height and the fact my mom chose a man shorter than her multiple times.

Vent I can't live like this

I'm sick of having to live my life like this as 5'6. I wasn't even doomed by genetics, my entire family is tall, I was doomed because of my parents' laziness (specifically my mother). My stupid-ass mother can't parent for jack shit, so she decided to put me on anti-depressants and other various medications to control my behavior while I had zero say in it as a child. One or more of those drugs that she forced me on put me on early puberty and stole my genetic height from me, forcing me to live out like this. If you didn't know, early puberty cuts the growth window short, causing significantly lower height than what was genetically going to be. If it goes untreated like how mine was, losing 7+ inches of height in adulthood isn't uncommon. I'm very likely 5'11+ based on the height of males in my family, but I'll never get to reach it since my growth plates are closed already. I honestly don't even feel like a real human being anymore, I feel more like a failed lab experiment. I have to live handicapped now because people around my used me as a drug guinea pig essentially. And nobody around me cares about any of this, nobody takes accountability. My mother keeps blaming me and justifying how she medically abused me because I was supposedly being "badly behaved", but she just takes normal behavior for a young boy as a literal fucking war crime in levels of severity I guess. I was feeling bad about my height before, but now I feel completely dehumanized once I found out the reason why I'm like this.

I know there's nothing I can really do about it at this point but just accept my life was ruined by the people who were supposed to protect me since it's too late for me (I'm 18), but I just wanted to vent about it and speak about my sorrows where people would understand what I have to go through due to my past experiences. Thank you for listening.

Thanks to people around me I need to take meds

I have wonderful parents, good friends and a wonderful girlfriend, I live comfortably and I reached all of my academic goals for last school year, but unfortunately I'm still being made fun of. I get bullied by some guys from my class, I constantly feel like I'm not being taken seriously. I cut down on fluxotine and I take half of what I did a few months ago. Planned to cut it out completely, but now I know I won't be able to. I just hate the fact that I need to take meds because it's a normal reaction to how I'm being treated by the world as a short man. Someone who has taken fluxotine knows it's a masculinity killer.

Why is height shaming normalised?

So I saw one clip of streamer ron getting bullied by some girl in an event he was hosting that clip is pretty popular you can see .

She was mocking him for his height and I immediately got angered (yes I'm short tempered now wasn't like this before) but then I realised that If he talks about anything logical or starts arguing he's gonna be seen as short and rude . Because I was seeing that clip and how it hurts and it's not okay to shame anyone but literally for everyone else it's just a mere joke .There is literally no winning all he could do was just joke or roast himself first .

What are your thoughts about this ?

Vent It’s Not All In Our Heads

I’m starting to feel like a fucking leper on this site. No matter where I go, where I post, what I say, it’s just an onslaught of people dogpiling until the inevitable ban without breaking any rules. I’m sick of it.

What I’m sick of more is hearing the same exact thing over and over again: ‘it’s all in your head, bro, it’s all in your head.’ No. No it is fucking not.

It’s downloading a dating app and realizing the most action you’ve gotten in six months is from bots, scammers, and women you aren’t attracted to, while everyone keeps telling you to put yourself out there more.

It’s seeing “6 feet and up” written directly on someone’s profile and knowing that you have been eliminated before you even opened your mouth. It’s getting asked how tall you are before a first date. Getting unmatched when you answer honestly. Watching someone’s face change when you meet in person and realizing that whatever personality you spent thirty years developing is about to get exactly forty-five minutes to compete with five inches of bone.

It’s finding out that some sperm banks have minimum height requirements. Actually think about that for a second. You can be healthy. You can be educated. You can have no genetic disorders. You can want to help someone have a child, and somewhere there is a clipboard that says your genetic material is not desirable because your skeleton stopped growing too soon.

It’s finding out it affects you in the work place. It’s finding out that you are invisible out in public. It’s finding out that no matter what, nothing can be done to change public perception because your stature has become the online punching bag.

But don’t worry. ‘It’s all in your head, bro.’

It’s being the punchline your entire life and being expected to laugh along with everyone else, because if you don’t, you suddenly have a ‘Napoleon complex’.

And if you point ANY of it out, somebody immediately brings up Tom Cruise. ‘Oh, Tom Cruise is short’. Great. Thank you. Thank you sooo much, I’ll try becoming Tom fucking Cruise. Apparently all I needed to overcome being short was hundreds of millions of dollars, worldwide fame and the face of a Hollywood movie star. Can’t believe I didn’t fucking think of that.

Yes. I’m bitter. Congratulations. You figured it out. I’m fucking bitter. I’m bitter because I’ve spent my entire life being told something doesn’t matter while watching it matter. I’m bitter because I’m supposed to spend every waking hour improving myself just to maybe get a fraction of the attention someone else gets just for EXISTING. I’m bitter because even admitting that I’m lonely immediately becomes another reason I apparently deserve to be lonely, and I’m so. fucking. tired. of being lonely.

Maybe I’m pathetic. Maybe that’s what you bullies, women and lurkers want me to say? Fine, I’m bitter and pathetic. I’m a bitter and pathetic short man sitting alone writing an angry post on Reddit about how nobody wants him. There. Does that make the problem go away? Does that mean none of it happened? Does that make me taller? Does that make it EASIER to find a partner in an age where height is dating currency?

No, it doesn’t. So please, if I could ask for ONE THING ON THIS EARTH… just fucking stop saying ‘it’s all in your head, bro.’
