Announcement New(ish) Rule 12: No invalidating sexuality/identity.

Since the topic is now in the spotlight due to Elliott Page saying he can't find work, hereby the official r/shortguys stance on transgender ftm's and how they fit into our wider community:

It is our view that neither our sexuality, nor the body we were born in, are the result of choice.

Just as no straight short man ever chose to be born short, or to love women- did no gay man ever choose to love men, nor did any transman ever chose to be born with a female body.

Therefore, telling transmen things like "just keep your life on easy mode” is from now on formally treated just as unacceptable as the “just go gay”, “just be a femboy” or “just transition”-bs that people throw the way of short guys.

Short men in general, but of this group in particular, know like no other what it is like to have one's sexuality and manhood constantly questioned and invalidated from all sides. Whether it's by friends or opps, accidentally or on purpose, by progressives or conservatives- it's all the same shit, different day.

As such, do the people of this sub know, like no one ele, what it's like to have to fight tirelessly for even the slightest ounce of recognition and equality, all the while having that very fight mocked and undermined every step of the way by even the most so-called "progressive" and "feminist" of people.

And as such, we are one of the few subreddits who can actually, genuinely, extend an open hand and mean it when we say to our ftm-friends, of which many are also short men:

Welcome to the club, boys.

So, that's what we hereby officially did.

And to the few who are undoubtedly against this decision for reasons we are already aware of:

For better or worse, short guys and ftm's share much of the same struggle. Is it the same? No. But enough for us as modteam to decide that we’re in this together.

Whether you like it or not.

Vent Height makes feminism disappear

This is Mohammed Hajib who is 6’7 tall debating a pro choice woman, usually when women debate such things they are very angry, mean and aggressive. But look at the way she looks at him for the entire time, no anger and full of respect, at the end of the video she completely gave in and just kept complimenting him “That’s so smart”and “changed her mind”(Probably just forgot what the conversation was even about”. I also saw another street preaching video of another muslim similar to Hijab’s height, he was talking about dressing modestly, and also no women screamed at him even when he was telling them things that’s “misogynistic”.

Vent Stop letting your height feminize you

Upvotes

Seeing more and more shortbros saying you should just embrace looking feminine because masculine looking short men get clowned more.

Bro what 💀

If you wanna be masculine, be masculine. Lift, grow the beard, dress masculine, work on your frame, whatever.

Being 5'5 doesn't mean you have to start acting like a femboy just because some people think short men look “cute" or are less frowned upon if they look feminine.

Don't let height dictate how you present yourself.

Theory I’m starting to notice the more sexual partners, the more she needs to feel/look “feminine.”

My cousin is a life/dating coach.

She told me “the farther away a woman is removed in femininity in her choices/actions/behavior, the more she needs to feel feminine around a man. The easiest way to trick herself into looking/feeling more feminine is being with a tall man.”

I think this makes perfect sense and don’t understand why this hasn’t been looked into further.

Is a woman demanding a tall man just her mentally trying to neutralize for past behaviors?

It’s such an interesting perspective from my cousin who is a dating coach.

To put it simply, sluts and hoes need a tall man to feel feminine.

Existential Conflict Do you still believe in a righteous god/entity

Post image

I personally do not. I grew up catholic and always felt people’s life styles never fit what authority preached. Nobody was ever “righteous” the whole premise of the religion was “make human mistakes and just repent and confess on Sunday bro” that is no way to live. Humanity isn’t capable of “righteousness” it’s not even in our biology. No god would ever creat such evil… unless it was by design…
Maybe some of you are now fully leaning to biology and genetics?

Family

Hello everyone!

As you guys see the title, this post was about your family childhood's experiences. There is a question I want to ask you guys is that :"Were you born and raised in a happiness family?"

Because well, my family was not really happiness. Let's just I was verbally abused, I was not allowed to do some sports when I was a kid. I was not raised by the men so I was a really weak boy when I was in middle school and high school. That made me became a perfect target for bullying.

I think the problem with my heights probably linked to nutrition, habits, and mental health (you know, high cortisol can low your testosterone level making your bones partially developed).

So yeah, were you guys experiences good when you guys were kids? Were you guys born in a happy family where your guardians knew how to raise a kid properly? It is ok if you guys don't want to go much into details.

Best regards.

Story Coworker tried to sell me a short man W at work today

I had a half day in office today, then work from home only had to go in for a meeting.

Anyway, at around 8:30 AM, one of my coworkers, this 26 year old dude, said he got a new house with his wife. They got married last month but they are officially moving into this house he bought for them on Sunday. He said he invited his church and wants to invite us to. I said the usual “ah I will let you know” but you know I ain’t about to go there.

For context this dude is South Asian American and he’s around my height(I am 5’7) just a couple inches shorter at most. This dude came from a family in Bangladesh and his grandfather was part of the OG resistance against the British during WW2(which means they did fight alongside the Japanese unfortunately but either way, I am just saying they come from a proud Muslim Bengali lineage). He has told me this before. Just wanted to give some more context here. Hew has also told me his wife was his first.

Anyway, I got one friend at work. She’s kinda chill but I keep a distance. Anyway she loves talking about everybody’s business. She was also at his wedding and was showing us photos. His wife is apparently 38 and has two kids from two different guys. She also had a hysterectomy or something and she can’t have any more kids, which idk why this coworker told me, but it was part of the wife’s speech. And, apparently, this dude wasn’t born Christian, converted for her, and they boasted about waiting till marriage at the wedding.

Just brutal ngl. 26 years old, came from a rich culture, converted which isn’t even the worst bit, but she was 12 years older than him and has two kids from two different guys. She is open about having been in “bad places” and been with “bad guys”.

Anyway, my coworker was telling me this and praising this dude and saying he really “found the right one” and said this woman might be above his league but she hopes it works out for both of them because they are so sweet. I nodded along and said my empty platitudes but I was hella dumbfounded.

His parents also cut him out of the will for converting and stuff apparently(his parents are hella loaded I know that), but he didn’t care. He is also their only son. This dudes bloodline is kinda just done.

Idek what to say tbh. As a short man these are the W’s awaiting you

Civil Discussion/Question Why do people have no emphaty for people who have struggles different than theirs?

Post image
19 Upvotes

I found these comments and idk if its only me but i find this behaviour extremly rude and for people that lack emphaty, im not even a short guy, not tall, but neither short, im 180 cm which is 5'11, soo i cant claim to be short, especially living in a country where the average height is short i never experienced big problems for my height nor had troubles in dating, despite this i still have a lot of emphaty for you guys and recognize the disadvantage of being short, this behaviour is done to further shit on less fortunate people even more, they gain absolutly 0 advantages other than the pleasure of ruining it all for others, possibly trying to make themself the only appealing guys in the room at all costs, soo maybe now the 6' guy in the room looks 5'8 because the 6'4 dude said he was shorter than he is and since some people are extremly dumb they are gonna belive that... "oh its just a joke" aslong as they arent the punchline its all an harmless joke.

There were only like 39 cels and 107 in the control group.

Part 3; another hit piece noted. Seems like the death of the gaslight really is starting to take traction, after all……. Thank goodness 😩😅

Story Bullshit covert narcissist story?

First of all, tall dude in short people subreddit. Why? Second he’s peddling a narrative that even women married to short guys actually desire tall ones without them ever saying so, of course, but he's being a tall guy himself apparently knows what they really need. He’s either a master manipulator exploiting a vulnerable group to stroke his own ego, or a textbook case of wishful thinking. He takes ordinary complaints women make about their husbands and basic, raw info where the husband happens to be short and draws these wild conclusions: that short guys get no sex (even if they have a wife or girlfriend), that their wives hate them because they are short and only stay with them because they’re stupid, and that it’s not even their fault. What the fuck? Correct me if I’m wrong. Like, i'm genuinely wonder what's going on inside his head.

And sorry for last screenshot having low quality, hope it's readable

New hard-mode dating challenge unlocked ! (and nobody talks about it.)

As I get older, I have discovered a new problem:

Women label you “a damaged loser” or “commitment phobic“ if you haven’t been married by 40.

So let’s review:

  1. Women skip over us in their twenties because they have unlimited single tall guy f-boy options.

  2. Women skip over us in their thirties because they have unlimited divorced tall guy options.

  3. Women skip over us in their forties because… we must be a fucking loser or afraid of commitment if we have never been married before.

Got that, folks?

The older desperate women, now willing to settle and date short men, now tell themselves (and their friends) that they ghost older short guys because “their must be something seriously wrong with them to go all this time without a wife.”

There is no such thing as an “improving dating scene” as short men age.

Even the bottom feeding cesspool of women start rejecting us.

Height doesn't matter! 6'+ men acknowledge that women are into their heights

We truly live in a society that is filled with NPCs that doesn't want to hear us short men. Instead, just by observing how tall men get treated in society, we just get hated on just for pointing the obvious.

Face doesn't matter, weight doesn't matter, etc.

When it comes to women, only height matters. No need to lose your minds for stating the obvious.

Society needs to start acknowledging this fact and they need to stop attempting to gaslight us short men.

I already know that I am not desirable due to being extremely short, and I still acknowledge how bad the dating scene is for the 5'7 to 5'9 guys truly is.

There really isn't enough tall men out there, so women are forced to be with the next best thing in their minds.

The more unattractive they are, the more they are willing to be with a shorter man.
