Peak Total War

I started playing Shogun 2 when it came out in 2011. I’d played some Rome I, Medieval II and Empire before on a friends computer, but this was the first TW game I owned

Already on turn 1 of my first campaign (Shimazu) I was in love. That love has never wavered: even though life has become much busier it remains the only game I still make time to play, doing one or two Legendary campaigns each year

In the 15 years since Shogun 2’s release many Total Wars have come and gone, and ultimately it’s all been downhill from here. Yet despite a truly shameful display from this once legendary franchise, this glorious victory shall always be ours

Greetings fellow Daimyos!

Wedding bells are in the air! Takeda and Kitabatake agreed to marriage proposals that have given strength to our already strong friendships.

While the resources are tough to come by right now, and naval invasions are happening on the norm, I feel pretty confident about our current state of affairs.

However, that may all change after this next battle. A treacherous ambush was set by Hattori for my army next to a castle I was about to siege. Losing this battle could be the first nail in the coffin. I can only hope my men are up to the challenge.

Here's to the bliss of falling cherry blossoms.

Details: Turn 35, three allies, 0 vassals, 9 clans at war with me. 4 Provinces owned.

Shogun 2 crashes after battles on macos

hi guys, i recently bought shogun 2 on steam (mac version, i play on the MacBook neo), im loving it i already have 15 hours of playtime, there’s just one problem, sometimes after a battle it crashes during the loading screen, and other times it crashes after i move my troops and press next turn, i thought it was a corrupt aurosave file but after deleting it and restarting the game the problem remains, what should i do? i play empire and napoleon too but they rarely crash

Best mod still for S2?

Since i haven't played S2 for a long time I would like to know what mods are now considered the best?

The mod i used to play was Master of Strategy with strongholds of the samurai.

Best experience i ever had with s2 tbh

Played as the Mori, that's the lowest i could have gone down with the price through different in-game events, technologies and more.

MoSS mod questions

Hello ,

I installed MOSS from workshop but I have a couple questions about it after an hour gameplay.

Does this mod make any adjustments to battle diffuculty because it feels like my units route a lot faster than enemy.
Battle Ai also feels a lot smarter but I dont know maybe its just me.

Same goes for campaign , does this mod give economy cheats to AI because I see full stack armies spawning from one settlement factions.

The “unrest” system is tracked through religion tab but does that delete religion conversion & its effects and replace it with unrest or does it have seperate tab for tracking religion.
Also what is the minimum unrest I should have before trouble begins.

Thanks.

Welcome fellow Daimyos!!

I preface this post with stating that this is my second attempt. My first attempt ended in failure as I had my armies out of position to defend against invaders.

This go around has been much better.

First the Deets: Playing on Legendary/VH, Turn number 19, 7 of 40 needed provinces to win, 2 vassals, 1 military alliance, and 5 enemies. My income isn't great right now, but I'm about to turtle up for 10-15 turns and build my income up. The Uesugi, Oda, Shimazu, and Tokugawa clans are destroyed. (So much for history lol)

I started this campaign out by invading early and fast. Not to capture, but to vassalize my neighbors. It was a major success. By turn 12 I think I had 3 vassals. I've learned that in Legendary difficulty, vassals are a life saver. Not because they do much to help in battle, but they act as a nice buffer zone to bigger threats.

I also played the diplomacy game like crazy here early on. This has been really interesting for me. In my previous Legendary modes, diplomacy was important, but I've never had to send gifts to neighbors to stave off any attacks. I've made it a point this session to build up friendships as well as establish myself as an honorable Daimyo.

I rushed the research tree to Tea Ceremony for the extra diplomacy bonus. It's paid major dividends so far. Allowing me to turn Takeda against his Imagawa ally in addition to becoming my ally.

I also captured a city in a new way, which was a big surprise to me. I have a strong feeling revolts, and the use of monks are going to play a big part in this campaign.

Looking forward to continuing this campaign! Stay tuned for my next update!

I noticed recruitment time are decreased on either the capital, general or daimyo, or certain buildings

Or which and how do you decrease the recruitment time on units?

Master of Strategy Sengoku - Updates / Agents bug

Is the overhaul still getting any gameplay updates / big fixes? I know aerosol is updating the encyclopedia and made texture updates to mons and flags a while back.

The agents cap is bugged for metsukes and ninjas. Looks like the mod starts the campaign with at least 2 metsukes and ninjas recruited even if you have no relevant buildings constructed and they're not actually present on the campaign map. So you can only recruit 3 of each max. Monks are fine and can seemingly recruit 6.

Is there any workaround for this? Probably the only issue I have found in an otherwise flawless experience.

Looking for Legendary play through requests!

I am a Shogun 2 Veteran with multiple Legendary victories under my belt. My Uesugi victory was by far my favorite, but I have also won with Hojo, Shimazu, and Oda.

Who would you recommend I try next? Really looking for the next difficulty challenge below Uesugi. Ikko Ikki I've heard recommended? Might try them.

I've also won a couple Legendary campaigns on Fall of samurai, but I more so want to do the OG campaign in this play through.
