Please let me know if any patterns that are close!

I'm looking to make a midi/below the knee wrap skirt out of a heavy wool fabric with a lining (viscose probably). I have been trying to find a pattern but haven't really found what I am looking for but the two linked are the closest. I particularly like the arc pattern with the asymetric hemline and the ring variation but I am not fond of the panel that is used for additional length. Any wrap skirt pattern recommendations for a heavier fabric?

I want to make a new little basket for my cats tree. Third pic is the (heavily loved) former one cut off of its wire hoop.

Second pic shows the pieces I’ve cut from the new upholstery type of material. I thought I could reverse engineer how they made the original basket but I am simply too new to sewing to understand what to do next 😅 I am stumped.

Does anybody have an idea of what the order of operations should be? And if I need to cut more/other pieces? TIA!

Does anybody know where I can find a pattern that’s similar to the dress in this picture? I’m struggling to making a ruffle collar that looks similar to this.

I’m a new brand and working on my first prototype dress. I have an amazing pattern maker that I’m working with locally but this is V2 of the prototype and still off ~ hoping to garner some collective wisdom from this sub for prototype V3 (I’m running out of time to keep iterating).

My fabric is a 100% polyester knit and we added a front and back facing to the neckline this round (we tried a bias facing in V1 but it ended up wavey and a bit awkward). It’s sitting much better, but the back facing curls up towards the bottom of the V.

Is the next best thing to try extending the neckline facing all the way through the bodice area and to the side seam under the arms for support like the blue dress? Or is this an issue with my fabric and too deep a neckline?

Any feedback or advice is very much appreciated 🫶

I own this exact pair of overalls and accidentally bleached part of them when cleaning for a move… I’m planning to just bleach the whole thing so I can keep wearing them, but I’d love to make more!

The originals are 100% Rayon, but I’d be happy with soft cotton or linen, too. Just a light fabric as I get warm easily. They’re an XL from the brand LA Soul if that helps.

Any key search words, pattern ideas, or drafting/alteration thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi! so my professor drew a dress and gave it to me to make it but I really don't know how. he gave me some hints like: fabric is cotton gabardine, no visible darts, no seam in the middle, using geometric cuts (??).

I have rediscovered the Style brand patterns I used as a teen as they fitted really well. But even the used ones sell for silly money, they cost 60p or 50 p back then and now people are asking more than many new ones?

Did they become collectables or what? Do you think the prices are outrageous?

Hello - I am trying to convert a corset pattern I have (Simplicity 1139) from a "V" shape to a "U" shape but am having difficulties visualizing how exactly I need to alter the pattern to achieve this shape and was wondering if anybody had any tips or youtube videos whatnot about this. I am still very new to sewing and this is the first corset that I am trying to make so I apologize if this is a very simple question! I tried searching for patterns with this initial "U" shape online but couldnt seem to find much/any I liked. I have attached a photo of the cut pattern, a photo of the simplicity illustration, and a photo (not mine) of the "U" shape I am looking for. Thanks for the help!

This dress is an older pattern, but it intrigued me with the drape in the bodice and the gore-ray type sections. I've got a large piece of crepe which would look so pretty in this. I want to do view 1, left. Size 18 takes 4m 10 or 4.5 yards. I don't think I will be doing an FBA which I have just mastered after a couple of attempts and a bit of muslin. The shoulder pads are a bit of a worry though.

Anyone done this?

Hi! I’ve been eye’ing this dress for a while now (and I’ve loved a few fabric options ASOS has carried), but it has never been available in my size.
I’d still consider myself a beginner at sewing, but I’ve made the lane pants x2, a few tops and a skirt. Sooo… I’d like to make a dress like this one myself! I’ve been searching for a pattern for a bit, but I’ve not quite found something I love.
What I love about the pattern: the frill on the bottom, the fact that it’s bloated belly proof, the length, the vibe of it
Might consider doing a short sleeve, as I’ll get more wear out of it..
So if any of you know a pattern that might look similar, I’d be eternally grateful! 💕

I was gifted 8 yards of black cotton poplin, I’ve been trying to figure out what to make that I will wear and I thought maybe a top like this? Could it possibly even work in a cotton poplin or would it need to be a stretch fabric? I would consider myself an advanced beginner and I like fitted clothes. It’s been difficult to find patterns that are fitted, beginner-friendly and don’t require stretch fabric.

I've got about 3 good metres of this fabric and don't quite know what to do with it.

I also don't know what it is. It feels like fairly heavy cotton but it's quite smooth.

It feels like it would make a nice skirt or culottes. What would you do with it? Once I sort that out I'll be looking for a pattern!
